SSS Awakening: I Can Create Skills By Will

Chapter 135: Return to Sender

Chapter 135: Return to Sender

There was no blast or detonation.

Even Arthur narrowed his eyes.

"So this was how the attacked worked."

He felt it better now. The explosion wasn’t magic.

It was from the speed.

The higher the velocity, the greater the burst on impact.

So he did something simple.

He killed it.

Every bit of momentum.

The second stone slammed into the field...

WHOOOM!

It hit resistance and immediately lost force, grinding forward like it had struck invisible mud. Arthur clenched his fingers slightly.

The threads tightened.

CRRRRKKK...

Both stones trembled.

Then... Puff!.

It wasn’t an explosion.

Not even close.

Just a pathetic burst of dust and fragments that scattered harmlessly.

The dungeon went quiet for half a breath.

"...What?" someone whispered.

Behind him, Ryn stared.

"That was... smoother."

Arthur didn’t look back. "I understand the attack a little bit better"

The Captain’s voice came sharp. "Good. But don’t get cocky."

The lean ogre chose that moment to swing.

BOOOOM!

Its blade like arm smashed downward toward one of the frontline warriors who had slipped on debris.

Arthur saw it.

He didn’t hesitate.

Intent Step activated. And his figure flickered.

CLANG!

He intercepted the strike with reinforced weave layered around his arm. The impact boomed, but the force dispersed outward instead of crushing inward.

The warrior on the ground blinked up at him.

"Move," Arthur said simply.

The man scrambled away.

The Captain followed slashing at the ogre’s exposed flank. Ryn followed also, blade flashing.

Arthur stepped back into position.

His chest rose steadily.

His mana flow was smoother now. The field wasn’t draining him like before. It felt... obedient.

Arthur felt it again.

That quiet instinct as another roar echoed.

More stones launched.

Three this time.

The air trembled violently.

Some explorers flinched.

Arthur grinned without realizing.

"Alright," he murmured. "Let’s see how far this goes."

He stepped forward again.

Intent Weave expanded.

Not just in front of him.

Around him.

The radius widened, spreading like a silent domain.

The first stone entered.

Instead of just slowing.. it dragged.

As if the air itself had turned solid.

WHRRRRR...

The spinning reduced instantly.

The second stone followed.

The third came slightly off-angle, trying to bypass.

Arthur shifted his stance.

Threads adjusted automatically.

And all three stopped.

Mid-air.

Perfectly suspended.

Gasps broke out behind him.

The Captain actually paused mid-strike.

Arthur studied them.

He could feel the structure of force within them now.

Tension.

Stored energy.

He tightened his control.

CRACK.

Hairline fractures spread across the surfaces.

Then he released.

Not violently.

Just enough.

The stones collapsed inward.

PHSHH.. as they crumbled into dust before they ever touched the ground.

Silence followed

Then..

A low whistle from one of the explorers.

"That’s insane..."

Ryn’s lips curved. "Keep it up Arthur."

But The Captain barked, "Focus!"

Arthur blinked.

Right.

He had zoned out again while reading the system interface again. The effects had shocked him even more this time

But he rolled his shoulders once as he responded to the Captain.

"Yeah. I’m here."

The lean ogre charged in the pause.

Heavy steps shook the floor.

THUD. THUD. THUD.

Arthur didn’t wait as he activated his Intent Step, vanishing forward.

Intent Weave flared next.

The ogre’s momentum died mid-charge.

Its massive body jerked unnaturally as the invisible resistance wrapped around its limbs. Its swing came slower.

Arthur stepped inside the arc.

Palm forward.

Threads condensed at a single point.

As it struck.

BOOM!

But the destabilized structure of the ogre’s movement collapsed under the impact instead.

The lean ogre staggered.

But the Captain capitalized instantly, his massive axe carving deep across its torso.

Ryn followed with a clean thrust.

The ogre roared in fury.

Arthur stepped back, breathing steady.

He could feel it now.

The battlefield rhythm.

The way force flowed.. how speed translated to destruction.

And how easily he could deny it.

Another set of stones launched.

This time faster.

WHOOOOM!

The air tore as they approached.

Arthur planted his feet.

Intent Weave expanded further than before.

He felt the strain.

But it held.

The stones entered..

And slammed into resistance so dense the air cracked audibly.

KRRRRSH..

They shuddered violently.

Momentum bled away.

Arthur narrowed his eyes.

"Stop."

It wasn’t a shout. He simply whispered his intent.

The threads obeyed.

Complete nullification.

As The stones froze.

Time itself seemed to pause.

Then.. Puff.

The usual explosive blast turned into something pitiful.

A dull pop.

Dust scattered lightly across the ground like someone clapped chalk together.

A few explorers actually laughed in relief.

Some shock and disbelief.

"That’s the same attack that nearly wiped us out so many times?" someone said.

But Arthur didn’t pay attention to their comments

The stones were still coming.

Not faster or stronger.

Just persistent.

WHOOOOM...

Another pair tore through the dungeon.

Arthur inhaled slowly.

As his Intent Weave expanded.

This time he didn’t just stop them.

He felt them.

The way force spiraled through their rotation. The way pressure built along their surface. The way velocity translated into destructive release.

The first stone entered the field.

Its spin faltered.

Not abruptly.

Gradually.

Like something sinking into deep water.

The second followed.

The threads tightened automatically, adjusting to angle and torque. The resistance wasn’t just a wall anymore. It was structured. Directed.

The stones slowed.

Strain built along their cores.

Arthur’s eyes sharpened.

He wasn’t thinking about stopping them.

He was studying how the field handled them.

How pressure dispersed.

How instability accumulated.

CRRRRK..

Fine fractures spread across the stone before they even halted fully.

He released a fraction of control inward.

And the momentum that should have burst outward collapsed back into the structure.

PHSHH..

Both stones imploded softly, disintegrating into dust that fell harmlessly.

The same cycle went on.

Arthur had just stopped another speeding stone when the thought came.

He stood there, palm raised, the massive boulder hanging in front of him like it had forgotten what it was supposed to do.

It cracked and then collapsed.

Too easy.

He tilted his head slightly.

Stopping them like this... it was starting to feel boring. Like swatting flies. Effective, yes. Impressive, maybe. But wasteful.
