Chapter 737: Rock Goblins

Chapter 737: Rock Goblins

Three rock goblins stood on a nearby rock slab that had jutted out of the ground enough to be a good hiding place for them. Now, they used its height to throw sharpened rocks at the group in an attempt to kill them as their prey.

"That's very annoying." Brad slammed his shield forward again. The possessed armaments were vibrating in annoyance since the rocks were nothing compared to the other attacks it had defended against. This was insulting!

Noticing a slight red lines appearing on the possessed aramants, Clark could tell that with his anger in being annoyed by attacks like this, Brad and his possessed armaments were tapping in to the berserk skill they had between them.

While they had trained themselves more to be able to control this skill, it was still something to worry about. The boost in physical strength caused Brad's body to be under a lot of strain. Therefore, he would be left with muscles that needed longer to heal. The same stress hit his bones causing small fractures.

This wasn't even considering the damages that came to hsi tendons or organs while under this stress.

But why had Brad trained his body so much if he couldn't work with his partner in perfect harmony? Why waste that time when he could have just been training his shield and sword techniques?

The rock goblins saw that Brad was easily defending the attacks but had not attacked himself. They took this as a fact that he was weaker than them. Their foolish minds were nothing compared to the strength that Brad had though.

When one lept at him with a sharpened stone as a dagger, he let the shield fall to his side and used the one handed sword to stab out. The stone like skin that boosted the defense of the rock goblins, making them a harder beast to fight, was cracked through and through.

The pierced goblin screeched out having felt real pain for the first time in its life. Brad just swung the sword to his side again throwing the dying rock goblin on to the ground.

The red markings on the possessed armaments grew more vibrant as the other two rock goblins attacked at the same time. But Brad was not unprepared. He slashed back up with the sword cutting the head off of one of the rock goblins. The weaker neck was not as tough as the mid section. Not that it could have defended itself from Brad to start with.

The other goblin was slammed down on to the ground with the shield forcefully crushing it. Brad used the pommel of his sword to slam the shield down even heavier. The cleaning making the sound of cracking stone skin louder until the goblin was entirely silent and dead.

After some deep breaths, Brad lowered the sword and shield yet again. His possessed armaments returned to normal while only vibrating slightly. "You have made a lot of progress controlling that skill. Even when you got angry just now, you didn't lose your mind to it." Reese praised Brad since he had been the one training with him the most.

He had seen Brad test controlling this skill out more and more. Even when separated from the possessed armaments, he could access it with residual energy.

"The strain is still there. My body feels like I was working out for three days without rest." Brad's distaste for this was clear enough that the rest of the group wondered how many times he had worked out like that without telling them.

"There will be more of these around. The rock goblins are like other species of goblins. They will grow out of control if they are left alone. And this is the wilderness, we should find their origin and defeat them all. That will ensure that there are no others that will cause harm to passersbys." Isa felt that it was their duty after finding these beasts here. They were a pest after all.

"That would shorten the time we have to find the dwarven city. While they are roaming, we must be able to track them down sooner rather than later. They are in danger." With Ella against it for good reason, Clark found everyone looking at him. Even if he chose the opposite of all of them, they would follow his lead.

'Swide quest- rock goblin pests

Requirement: find the source of the rick goblins and wipe them out.

Reward: five random gacha tickets, one medium death energy crystal, one medium shadow energy crystal, one medium dragon energy crystal.'

"I think we can keep looking for traces while we hunt some of these goblins. If we handle them now, then the dwarves will be able to move through their territory better. We can use a little bit when we are speaking with them." Clark knew this was a little rough of an inspiration to handle some annoying beasts, but Brad was right behind him with this.

"I can hunt more of them. I just ended light healing and I will be ready to crush them." The slight red tinge to the possessed armaments proved that he and his partner were ready to handle these sorts of annoying beasts that were fine with throwing rocks at them.

"Then we are hunting I guess. I can use ice arrows on them, right?" Grace felt that the weaker rock goblins would not be too strong to defend against the ice arrows she had her partner make.

"They should be pierced by them if you use your aim the right way. Did you see how Brad easily sliced its head off?" Reese was pointing out the weak points that Brad had already taken advantage of subconsciously. The necks and other similar spots on the rock goblins were not as well defended by their stone skin.

"There are tracks right here. They don't seem too smart at hiding where they came from. Just smart enough to hide behind larger rocks so that they can ambush others." Jerold was already hot on their trail. He could scuff marks from where they had come from. He also noted that there were markings where two other groups of three rock goblins had split off of a main group.

Therefore, the goblins were higher in number just like Clark thought.

Following these tracks through the dusty and rocky terrain, the group realized that a lot more larger pieces of stone were around. Like they had broken off of something further up the hill, that they were on.

Looking up, they noticed a much larger section of stone that jutted out of the ground. Not as a mountain, but enough stone that it made a decent small cliff that would have been tough for many people to climb. That was if they were weak and did not have the strength to do it.

'Rock goblin dungeon- uncommon

This is the rock goblin dungeon. It is a medium one floor dungeon which houses the rock goblins along with the leading beast strong enough to force them to its will.

The large rocks make it tough for many to travel through this dungeon, however, they hold some small amounts of metal ores which developed unique metal energies due to being left within the dungeon untouched…'

With this, Clark knew that the goblins had been lucky. A small dungeon where they lived had formed in a hard to get to place. They could easily leave it with their earth affinity and natural strength. That way, they could hunt and return without much worry that someone or something would come to hunt them.

That was until now though.

"Rock goblin dungeon. We have a dungeon to stop in to. And there should be some ore in the stones there. The dungeon is hard to get to, so, the materials within would be waiting for us." Ralph raised his head and glared at the dungeon. It was holding prizes for him to collect. He would need to get them.

"Cracking the skulls of a few pests shouldn't take long." With that, Ralph was starting to climb up the small cliff toward the dungeon entrance within the side of it. He was radiating a killing intent driven by his desire to get the ores within he dungeon. Even if it was a small amount, he wanted them.

"If we aren't fast he will beat them all." Reese pushed Brad ahead so that they could get some fighting in too.

"After we clear out those goblins, we can use the top of this small cliff as a vantage point. We can see if there are any abandoned mines around. We could find a trail." hearing this, Ella was more than happy to get information on how groups of rock goblins lived and then search again. It seemed this would only take a short amount of time.

Besides that, this was a good chance to see how they all fight against slightly tougher opponents. Controlling their power to just be enough to defeat them would allow them a better handle of their overall strength. It would be useful in te future.
