Chapter 581: First!?
Chapter 581: First!?
While the camp that the group had left behind was still untouched, everyone wasn't amazed by this. They were instead watching the jade worm greedily drink up the potion that Clark had given Maria. Especially with the fact that it looked like it couldn't do without it now.
The speed that the jade worm could eat anything was limited by the simple fact that it was small. Regardless of how much food it was offered, it would need the time to consume it. That could be said for many younger and smaller beasts. They needed the appropriate time to be able to eat, process, and then expel the foods or herbs given to them.
This potion was an alchemist's brew though. it was not the same as any form of food that a beast would normally have. Instead it was a condensed batch of energies all held together using specific herbs and unique formulas. Only the alchemist that made it would have any chance to replicate it. Not that it often happened. There were rarely alchemists that would make more than one of these in a lifetime.
If they even made one.
"You can drink as much of this as you want." Maria carefully poured more of the potion out in to a bowl. She had also added a few herbs here and there so that it wasn't all liquid. This was just how a caring tamer would feed a young beast. A mix of herbs and liquid like this potion would just be easier for it to handle.
Maria had a very close bond with her beasts. The moment that she had helped the jade worm hatch from the egg that Clark had found, it had immediately liked her. But as it had rested on her shoulder and watched Lit heal others or the midnight eel strike out at enemies, it had become very motivated.
The fire affinity herbs she had offered it were tough for it to eat. This was due to the opposing energy against its natural water affinity. Yet, it struggled through it and even began teaching itself to process that energy.
The more that maria had encouraged it and taught it that it could learn, the jade worm was getting more and more confident. While most beasts were limited, the unique nature of the jade worm to adapt in its worm stage, made it very versatile. This encouraging knowledge gave it even more focus to be what it was being told to be.
Not because it was just being told, but because it could understand that it had the potential to do so.
Therefore, when Maria sensed the large amounts of different energies entering the jade worm and flowing through their bond, she shared her own energy. Lit and the Midnight eel could sense it too through their bonds. They felt that new beast that they had been sheltering growing very quickly. They also understood the unstable and dangerous state their youngest sibling was in.
When Lit took a defensive position around the group, no one questioned her. She was an empress jellyfish. She could easily use the poisons in her body to harm whatever tried to attack them in their camp. With the shadow of the midnight eel moving around, any beast that noticed would be inherently spooked. Moving shadows were something not many beasts would notice or be able to fight against.
What was truly striking, was that there was more to this. The jade worm was altering itself to a degree that Maria had not expected. The rest of the group had split up by now since they were not needed to help Maria. The only ones focusing were Ella, who recorded it all, and Clark who was surprised to see the analysis changing so much.
While the goal had been to get the jade moth to grow in to an alchemical beast with fire, water, and potentially spiritual energy affinities, it felt that this was something new and unique. The analysis showed a pure first possibility called the flame jade moth, then it changes to the translucent white jade moth.
Before Clark could even blink, he was looking at an analysis that was called the stone moth. All these potential were because of the moth adapting the alchemist's brew.
When there was a focus on the fire and water energies, the jade worm's body seemed to resonate with it. But the shifting energies that had been condensed in this alchemist's brew potion were not done. They each gave the jade worm a potential form to shift in to. Regardless of that though, the jade worm had already gathered enough energy for what it needed.
The careful feeding and care that Maria had already dedicated to this partner of hers was impeccable. She had ensured that it had food and that it was receiving energy from her to nurture it in this young form. She also understood that this was not going to be a beast that she wanted to fight. The jade worm also understood this due to their bonds.
When A beast understood this, they might feel fear. Yet, Maria and her other beasts were powerful. This jade worm was inspired to help them. A young and honest desire for those that it now saw as caring family. This alone allowed it to spread its senses toward the future of support. The exact goal that Maria had for it.
This alone was a major factor in the current growth it was undergoing. It was common knowledge to the true tamers that many beasts could not reach higher potential without support. There were even beasts known to require very careful emotional support along with other methods to even allow them to grow at all. Right now, the jade worm has proven to be that kind of beast.
Clark's astonishment only grew as he noticed a small bit of change in the analysis. There was a single line that mentioned the unity and balance of elemental energies that the jade worm could achieve. But that exact second, the analysis shift and Clark saw the little jade worm had begun to wrap itself in a light green cocoon with streaks of many other colors.
Some faded while others began to condense even more.
'Locked jade cocoon- temporary
The temporary ranking is due to the many unique changes going on within. The silk is made up of the unique energies that the jade worm was able to store during the jade worm phase of its life. Normally, it would not form a cocoon at this age, but due to the extremely careful care and unity with other beasts, the jade worm is able to grow much faster.
The additional burst of unique energies gave the jade worm full ability to awaken the hidden potential of its blood and spirit. It will grow beyond that of other jade moths regardless of the energies it needs and uses on a daily basis.
The fire, water, spiritual, and earth typing all found their way in to the jade worm and its unique bloodline. Now that these energies have been deeply engraved, the final adult form will be a quad type beast that is able to use these energies freely.
There is a strong lack of fighting prowess due to the jade worm's desires and abilities which allowed for it to develop all four of these affinities. Especially with the added benefits of the alchemists' brew potion.
Each affinity might develop in a new or unheard of way for the jade worm family since it is able to use all potential to adapt that it had. This is going to be the first born beast of its kind.'
While Clark wanted more information, he could not get it no matter how many times he used the analysis of the system. After the seventh time, the system replied with this instead.
'The analysis will not be altered until the new beast has been born. No further information will be shared due to the surprise that is developing.'
To Clark, that said that the system fully knew what beast might be born. But it was intentionally hiding the different forms that the beast could take. It was because the system was more intelligent. Clark knew that this was happening, but he never expected that it would be mischievous.
"That beast, it has too many affinities." Ella sensed the changes around the little jade worm as it had made a cocoon. Now that it was in such a form, Maria was smiling with a tired look.
While Maria had shared a lot of energy, she felt that the jade worm was growing and carefully pulled it in to the taming space to rest safely. Lit and the midnight eel also followed with the same tired appearance. "The longer that it rests, the better. When that cocoon opens, a new quad type beast will be born. I can't even guess what it will be called." Clark's honesty made Maria and Ella gasp.
They hadn't expected this. "what it's because you cared for it well while we traveled.
