Chapter 552: Added Wilderness Dangers

Chapter 552: Added Wilderness Dangers

'Blood moon carved ring- rare

The blood moon carved ring is a unique spatial ring used by the blood moon cultists. It has the unique ability to send signals to the blood moon cultists using the blood attached to the rung. Other than this, it is able to house a smaller amount of items than a normal spatial ring due to the fact that it can easily hold volatile materials.

The volatile materials storage forces the ring to be made with specific materials that can resist materials that are more dangerous to hold within spatial storage. Acidic, poisonous, explosive…'

Clark read the details of the main ring. The others were all fakes that could easily be handed away somewhere. A smart move for those that might get caught somewhere or for those that wanted to send off false trails using them.

However, the long list of potentially dangerous things that could be stored in this blood moon carved ring was not a good sign. It meant that the blood moon cultists could both gather dangerous and rare items more easily. Yet, they could also bring these dangerous items to places to cause more problems with them.

This would be a massive problem with cities. The blood moon cult could clearly cause more issues with this technology. "If they are bringing dangerous things in their spatial rings, then that means they are planning more. Especially if this cultist was just someone sent to cause trouble."

The theory that all the cultists might have these things was one that came to mind quickly. Everyone understood that the cultists wanted to cause problems. They wanted many people to die or suffer while they gained the power to do whatever their true goal was. But bringing materials instead of beasts to cause problems was a new threat that no one had realized.

"If the blood moon cutlists are willing to bring in dangerous materials and beasts, then they will cause untold damage. They could poison water, lands, or even worse, the air. They were already willing to use poisonous smoke that caused hallucinations.

They even managed to anger two beasts in to fighting that many people can not even approach due to their strength." The summing up of this from Ellaa brought some added stress.

"The ring is empty too. I tried to access it and it just crumbled in my hands." Clark had tried to reach in to it like a normal spatial ring. Just a thought normally works. But instead, the rung crumbled and nothing appeared. If there had been items within the ring, it would have appeared in the air near them like any other spatial ring when it breaks.

"That means that they have some sort of rune pattern on it that makes it break when someone that isn't bound to it tries to use it. That's the same as the rings we have. They must have just modified them." Jerold knew well how the spatial rings worked. He wished he could afford another just for safety sake. But they were expensive when it was a replacement for one or a second one.

Most people only ever had the one for identification and general needs.

"Forget whatever you are worried about. If they have rings that can bring around dangerous things, then they might be alchemists or blacksmiths. My ring is normal, but the second one I have is for materials like gluttonous ore or sparking grass." Ralph showed a second spatial ring that was thicker that he had on a necklace.

"How did you get that!? I didn't buy it!" Naturally, Isa thought that Ralph had been hiding something big.

"What's it to you? I save some of my own gold up for something like this. You didn't think that I only forged a few things for you? Did you? In Terra a few people helped me out." This indignant look coming from Ralph made everyone realize that he had actually made some good connections without a single one of them realizing it. Even Grace had been in the dark.

"Oh, gluttonous ore is hard to hold on to. It constantly causes things to melt down since it has a natural acidic quality due to the darkness and water affinity the material has. Most blacksmiths struggle to keep it before it naturally breaks down. It is only found in isolated caves without air." Ella couldn't help but be surprised since she knew this material.

The sparking grass was just a grass that was very flammable due to the way it grew. It was less volatile than the other material.

"Are we doing anything with the burned up bones? Reese and I have nothing else to check." Brad and Reese had ended up doing a full lap around the area. It put Reese at ease while they listened in to what the rest of them were speaking about when it came to the cult.

"No, they are useless. We can't sell them and I doubt they are usable materials." Isa's evaluation got a nod from both Ella and Clark. They both had looked at the bones for a second before they decided that they had been ruined. Not to mention, parasite bodies were useless overall.

The blood needle parasite beaks would be too weak and small to be of any use. Even the larger ones would slowly break down because they required specific materials to even be used. "You know, I have some odd relationships with blood due to my taming space and berserker abilities…" Brad looked at clark.

This hadn't been something that came up, but since the parasites had fed on blood and the bodies of their prey, it made sense that Brad would wonder if it was important for him. "You need metal. Blood iron. It has to be in relationship to metals. That's the bond you have. And the blood relationship would be more related to you blood being used to super boost your body.

Not the blood taken from others. You are not going to lose your mind or anything like that,"

While Brad's taming space and beast relied on bonds using his body, it was not the same as those that lost their minds and became monster. While it might be possible, Brad was still glad to hear that there was not much of a chance he would lose himself. Especially since everyone always feared they would hurt those they cared from. He wanted to protect this group after all.

"We have to keep moving. We stayed here too long, made a commotion,a dn definitely attracted other beasts." Grace was the voice of reason after a few moments. Maria nodded along since she also wanted to keep moving. Especially because she hoped that they would set up camp and have more of the materials they needed for her to experiment with the parasite burning pill.

It would be her first attempt at alchemy!

With a nod all around, the group set off. Their course stayed the same, but with the rain drizzling around, they all were more on alert. It was the fear that more blood needle parasites were around. If they were, then they could travel through the mud and water on the ground to attack them.

Luckily, three hours of walking proved not to put them face to face with any parasites, let alone beasts. The beasts around appeared to have disliked the rain and avoided being out. That Was a good sign though. It meant that there were not many beasts that wanted to be around.

When it came to the end of the rain though, the group all breathed a bit of a sigh of relief as the clouds seemed to drift away and they could see the distant setting sun. they had made a good bit of distance. Enough to say that they were significantly closer to the wilderness they want to go toward.

However, they had definitely let the Terra City territory. The wilderness managed by Terra City was better for them to be in since they were in it more recently and knew it better. But the path they took brought them to the outskirts of the Nova City wilderness territory. They had to be ready for new and old dangers.

This meant that they would see Nova City guards who might recognize them. That wouldn't be an issue if there were not guards paid by the more corrupted families. However, the true dangers would be those that were trying their best to get what they could from the wilderness due to the dangers growing outside the city. The blood moon cultists.

Many people would head out to get what they could for their business. Since Nova was a more corrupted city, they would have more unsavory tamers trying to get out and steal, rob, or just generally kill beasts in the wilderness. It presented a bandit problem that the group had dealt with before. Now they would be facing it at a much higher threat level though.

Specifically due to the fact that these people would be panicked.
