Chapter 550: Bloody Beasts
Chapter 550: Bloody Beasts
The pool of stagnant water started to churn more and more as the group realized that this was the entire breeding ground for the blood needle parasite beasts. "They did make this intentionally!" Reese was enraged seeing that there were so many of the parasites mingling within the water.
Yet, it only appeared to get worse as body parts of dead beasts were dug up as the parasites writhed in the water. They could sense more food. More ways to grow. They didn't need the left over parts that they had been fed in this little pool of water.
"Everyone get back!" Maria pulled Reese back with her while everyone else backed off. They were going to split up and handle these issues, but now they had been forced to see the true evil that had been committed.
The individual blood needle parasites sprung out of the murky waters while the splashing only continued. Clark's senses told him there was something more. They had found the body of this cultist. It had been used as a vessel and he wasn't human. But he had to have had a beast in the first place. So where was it?
This is a parasite. It was bred from the blade nose parasite. The blood needle parasite was a vicious and evil beast that was right on the cusp of being a monster. The tamer's body had been part of a monster too. So, where was his beast?
"Back off even more! The tamer's beats became a monster and is in there!" Clark threw Brad back who had prepared to defend against the attacks from the individual blood needle parasites. He had thought that they would start countering attacks, that was until he felt the force behind Clark's pull.
Brad landed back on his feet a few steps away and saw the waters shoot up. Grace did her best to use her frost finch to freeze a small portion of the water and rain that fell. This was enough to make a small barrier against the murky water being pushed towards them. The smaller red eggs clearly within it would have caused them even more trouble.
"Good move, I will help keep the water back." Isa called out her winter witch and melded with it. The sudden devastating cold that came from two ice type beasts cooperating was enough to cause the mud and puddles all around the group to freeze.
"They like the cold, so Ralph and Ella need to prepare a large fire attack." Maria knew that this was the best idea they had as the larger shape of something that shouldn't be was shown. Between Ellas' blue flame skeleton and Ralph's two beasts with control over fire to a degree, they should be able to do a lot more damage.
Clark saw the squirming shape of what had once been a beast. But now, it was a monster entirely on its own. Whatever beast it had been was long gone. What was left was a monster trying to spread more death. More pain.
'Living hive- monster
The living hive is a powerful beat that would have had high defensive strength. However, after being constantly used as a breeding ground and kept alive by a tamer, it has become a mutated monster ideal for housing powerful blood needle parasites.
Thousands of eggs will live and grow within the living hive. It will constantly seek out food and ideal conditions since its brain has been rotted and eaten by many parasites. The only way to completely destroy it is by burning it to ashes or by causing damage with unique energies that supersede what it can handle.
It has lost the majority of its intelligence due to the fact that it was eaten and atatcked. Now it is considerably weaker than other beasts. Yet, its defenses still persist since its bones were reshaped to be a better home for the blood needle parasites. Just touching it can allow an egg or parasite in to the body.
It can easily travel to a large body fo water and cause a mass contamination. This kind of beast should be exterminated at every turn when possible…'
The more details that Clark read in this analysts as the large rond beast rose higher out of the murky water made him grimace. From what he could see, this had been some form of turtle like beast at one point. It had been tortured by its own tamer. Now, it was a twisted monster whose bones had been twisted and fused to make it the ideal parasite spreader.
"Devi, you should be able to damage it constantly. Use some of the death energy in your chilling bite. Try to kill it so that the parasites are without a safe home. Crim, get ready to attack with Ella and Ralph. Send a big dragon breath and mix it with their attack." Clark didn't hesitate to let his beasts out to battle.
Devi would be safe from parasites with his unique ghostly body. The attacks he dealt would also deal massive damage that could win them the fight against the living hive. However, the individual blood needle parasites and the eggs would need to be burned. They had to be burned or else they would spread.
That Was why Crim would be adding in the dragon energy flames that could cause untold damage to any beast or area. Dragon energy was nothing to shake a head at. It was powerful. Destructive. And it would be able to handle the whatever was thrown at it.
Before Clark could make another move, he noticed shadow threads spreading out all around him. Over a hundred burst forth from his shadow as Shy spread herself thinner. But in her acts, she snapped up control over four of the larger blood needle parasites. She instantly used their own attacks to deal with the other smaller parasites that had begun to encircle the group.
A single heavy feeling came over everyone as they realized that the largest blood needle parasites were sticking their sharp beaks out of the living hive. They had felt the threats and knew that they had to defend their home. But that horror was enough for the entire group to understand the dangers of such a beast and parasite.
These blood needle parasites were large enough to attack large beasts and defeat them.
"I won't let you do a single thing!" spiritual energy surged around Reese. Jerold narrowly missed being slashed as well in Reese's anger. But the attacks left large gashes all over the blood needle parasites and the living hive. Reese was utilizing every bit of spiritual energy that his spirit steel sword could manage. The two of them were looking like they were about to become monsters as well.
That's what anger and hatred could birth.
"You're acting like an idiot." Brad slammed his shield down on Reese before he could leap forward again. The sudden blow was enough to slam Reese ten feet back. Right before a massive fireball appeared above them.
"Grace, keep a hold of the ice while I call out the blaze elemental." Isa joined Ralph, Ella, and Crim to cause flames to grow. The blaze elemental had still not fully adjusted to the new form and power that it had. However, it didn't need to control anything. It just needed to share fire energies with the others.
The fire ball took on a deeper and more dangerous orange color. The flames already started to melt the ice and kill the eggs and smaller blood needle parasites. "Now we retreat!" Jerold shouted out with Maria while they helped make everyone back off. Clark took a stance to prepare his own attack for after this attack landed.
A single burst of flames erupted upwards as the rain became steam all around the group. The entire cleared area that had been made in to a parasite breeding ground was flush with fire that couldn't be controlled. The only thing keeping it in check was the limits of melting ice before the flames lost their energy.
A smoking corpse was left behind. Only blackened bones and multiple blackened beaks could be seen after the smoke and steam drifted off. The ground sizzled with putrid burning flash and stagnant watery remains.
"Never lose your mind. You and your beast would have come to great harm. You will not be fighting any longer." Brad loomed over Reese and the spirit steel sword. As a fellow metal type beast tamer, Brad had respect for Reese's training. But , looking at the damage Reese did to himself and the cracks on the spirit steel sword, he understood the two had gone too far.
Clark was looking over but still had to face the boney remains of what had been a beast at one point. He could sense some life still in it. The last of the parasites living within the living hive could easily still harm them. The living hive had managed to protect them.
But with a swing of his spear, Clark cleaved the burnt bones open exposing the last squirming pile of newly hatched blood needle parasites. "That's all for this problem."
