Spirit Taming

Chapter 546: Leaving Again

Chapter 546: Leaving Again

Three days of rest passed by as the group did whatever they needed to prepare. Clark had made certain that all of them stopped by a blacksmith stall and had Ralph rent a space to maintain any armor or metal works that they had. Especially the cooking tools and other things needed for their camping in the wilderness.

With this, came the fact that many of the blacksmiths that rented the forge as well had been attracted to the work that Ralph was doing. They found that he was using techniques that appeared to be a mix of others.

What no one, and even Ralph had not noticed was that he had been learning forging from multiple sources. He had also learned to forge metals that had unique energies. Specifically, he had tried to replicate what Clark could do with the eternal ice.

Forging such unique materials or being able to influence them at all had greatly increased the ability Ralph had to control energies within materials while forging. Therefore, when he started to repair items and clean them, he was doing a better job than many could. It stood out.

In turn for letting everyone watch, Ralph had sneakily gained some more knowledge about forging. He had also managed to get ahold of a few more ingots to craft some smaller items. The best being another set of chain necklaces that had helped him refine the small experience in rune carvings.

The ability to do so had yielded an itel called the locked necklace. It was something that Clark had been impressed with since making smaller chains required nimble hands and fast work. Yet, when he saw that small rune designs for various energies had been carved on them with a focus on spiritual energy, he wondered what they were all about.

"I met a guy who said he forged with spirit. It sounded like a kid bragging about a magic trick. But instead, the guy was actually using a metal and spiritual beast called spirit flame hammer. It's similar to Reese's sword, but it will never grow. It just helped him with adding spiritual energy to materials.

But I got a hold of a lot of rune knowledge from him." Ralph's greed showed since he had been working a little too close with Isa about materials for the past few days.

'Locked necklace- rare

The locked necklace is very valuable to the younger tamers in the world. It is a design with unique runes only meant to help train the energies that are within it. The spiritual runes carved within the chain specifically help maintain the innate spiritual energy within every living being.

Therefore, this chain necklace is not a locked necklace that the user can not take off. Instead, it is a necklace that locks in the natural dissipated energies from the body. By doing so, the body is more easily able to resist the weather, beast's attacks, and also the natural wear and tear of travel.

Mentality is also smoother due to the spiritual energy remaining better controlled by the body. It allows for a clearer mental flow when equipped. Therefore, those that work laborious jobs or long hours would find this item as the best thing they could own. For travelers, it allows them to make smoother mental decisions.'

When Clark had used the analysis of the system on this locked chain, he was amazed. This necklace had been made for everyone in the group and Ralph clearly knew that it would help with energy retention for each of them. For someone like Isa, this was a great item to have.

Isa had the unique body that allowed her beasts to dwell within her. That way she used their energy mixed with her to attack. Her beasts didn't have to move separately from her. Now, she would better control the energies that her beasts shared with her along with the energies not leaving her body against her will.

Controlling all of that energy was tough, therefore, this made it easier on her mind and body.

Maria had also made leaps in her studying. Because the jade worm egg was clearly absorbing energy at a rapid pace and Maria had already been able to sign a contract with it, she was able to grasp a little bit about alchemy. The knowledge of herbs and other actions associated with alchemy was great.

Instead of helping Ralph, Grace had started to help Maria study. She was gradually taking the supporting role for the group. The person that could help anyone realize their goals better. It was an interesting position but one that clearly motivated Grace to become better.

When she had started to share her findings about how alchemy was done, she and Maria had started to experiment. The basics of alchemy were hard to grasp, but not impossible. Places where alchemy and healing overlapped were simple to discover, that was what Grace did.

Making slaves and other ointments were not a challenge to anyone with the proper level of alchemical knowledge. Because they didn't require the same energies and processes, Maria was able to branch out and start making them. Adding in some of Lit's numbing poison was also perfect. It made a salve that numbed injuries and helped heal.

'Pain relief salve- rare

Able to help clean a wound, this slave is using a specific poison made by an empress jellyfish. They are a very rare beast that is beyond what the world expected at this time. Therefore, this salve easily tops many existing versions.

The numbing effect will instantly stop pain from a wound which is great in a battle. It will allow a soldier to return to a fight nearly instantly while also allowing their body to start the natural healing process.

The addition of the dried pern root caused this to have coagulating properties as well. This allows the wound to cease bleeding within ten minutes of application. While it is not a miracle salve, it is able to save lives with these effects. It would sell for a higher price if sold in the markets. The formula would also sell very high prices to specific mercantile, alchemy, and healing groups.'

This proved everything that Maria and Grace had worked toward. An ideal salve that could help them all. It was why Clark gladly took the portion that was given to him. He would be able to use it whenever he had injured himself.

Between Reese, Jerold, and Brad, the three boys had made their own efforts to prepare themselves. The three had gone somewhere that no one expected. They went to a clothing shop. Their ideas had been about the varying changes a jungle could have.

When Clark explained the location, they understood that there would be a different environment within the jungle than outside. The rain, mist, and dense heat would be weighing on them. Therefore, they went to find clothing that could repel water and protect them from the insect beasts that lived there.

They easily found full outfits of the most basic water proof and breathable fabrics that could be put on under armors and within their shoes. When they arrived with all of this, everyone in the group was very impressed. Especially since they had willingly went to look for something that was not sword related, scouting related, or weight training related. Truly out of the ordinary for the three.

What was left was Ella. She had dove right in to the books and recordings of certain valuable skills needed in the wilderness. Her ability to remember, rewrite, and optimize thing proved to be the key they needed.

When they all had to be able to choose what was the most important to learn about first, Ella had already put what they ended together. Maria easily took the books that Ella gave her because they were the best starting points of alchemy. The same with Ralph, Isa, and Grace. Even books on basic scouting had been set up in a perfect plan for Jerokd to read.

Everything had perfectly come together as the group received a letter from Professor Wright who had called for a few allies to gather in Nova for the date that the group promised to return. This would be the best thing for them since they would be able to arrive with a higher power than they left for the wilderness with, at an ideal time.

They would be able to catch up on the movements of the cities and the blood moon cult after they had branched out for their own growth. While the group would miss some mental and political games, they would be able to hold their values steady. Having the power to hold those beliefs was much more important at the end of the day.

"This seems like the last that we need. I looked over every possible thing I could. I left letters for Purple and a few others that I know will be ready for us. The allies we have in Star City, Nebula City, and Terra City will be prepared for when we get back.

The only things we need to worry about are getting stronger." This was the last thing Clark said before they all left Terra City for the second time.
