Chapter 463: Famous Professor

Chapter 463: Famous Professor

While the walk back to the gardens they had seen before didn't reveal much, Clark was sure that they would find many interesting things. It was just the feeling he got when he looked at the massive mushrooms and the dull colored plants around.

To anyone, this would be an odd mix of plants and mushrooms that shouldn't just be set here and there. But as the group looked, they noticed an odd organization. Some of the mushrooms with large caps were growing so that the water that dripped from the caps landed on certain plants.

"I see you have caught on. These plants and mushrooms are grown by the very best herbalist we have. She has won many awards from multiple cities for being able to grow mushrooms and rare herbs that others could not grow. While she is considered a specialist with cavernous herbs, she is able to learn a great deal just from seeing an herb. But her methods are not always easy to replicate."

Vice headmaster Gold was certainly bragging. That was just what he or any person would want to do with a prominent figure within their city or academy. Yet, Clark picked up on the hints given to them. It was very easy to understand that this herbalist would be odd. An eccentric. How else could they do things so far from the norm.

"Herbalist Gloria trim. That's who you're talking about. If she is here then she had stopped her travels of the continent and will be releasing the next edition of her research journal." Ella immediately knew who the topic of this conversation with.

As Ella looked at Isa, Clark, and Maria, she realized that the others were not as versed as she was. "She constantly released journals that explain her travels. While they have some focus on the herbs she grows or the interesting species of herbs she finds, it's her research I care about. The style that she records and evaluates things is top of the world.

I strive to replicate her attention to detail. It is considered an inspiration for me." Ella had never mentioned anyone that she idolized.

"Then you should be even happier to hear that she has been teaching classes lately. She will teach one a week that any student interested can attend. As of now, she is allowing the class to help in one of her personal gardens. That building there is one that she had constructed. It is made of river stone that allows a certain species of slimy mushroom to grow. They are her beast's favorite food."

The garden in front of them seemed to open up and show them a large stone building. It was made of multiple rover rocks. They had been smoothed by the river for many years, but even more were the tiny brown mushrooms that popped up in the cracks. From where Clark stood, they were tiny and wouldn't be useful. Yet, they also looked like they would be very delicate and soft.

A single touch and they might fall apart.

'Slimy mushroom- rare

The slimy mushroom only grows during a drought or in ideal captions. It will grow on exposed river rocks by soaking up the hidden moisture within the rocks. They will burst at the slightest touch causing slimy spores to escape.

They are ideal for any stamina potion if they can be heated and boiled in a large quality. They also can slightly detoxify the blood from chemicals the body produces during exercise. It will assist in regrowth of muscles over the long term.

These slimy mushrooms are the favorite food of the mushroom sprite. A small water type beast that developed a unique typing after consuming high amounts of mushrooms. It can not be called a mushroom type but a unique water and plant dual type beast. Some mushroom sprites hide among mushrooms and look like one as well. They will often grow their own personal mushroom gardens for food.'

"If possible we should ask for some of those mushrooms." Clark looked at Isa, "They have a good ability to be used in stamina potions but are also good at helping us heal from muscle damage during training. It will be a good long term medicine for us."

"That's a good eye If I ever saw one. Feel free to explore and search out Professor Gloria. She will be somewhere around here. As you can see, the students are all on their own assignments." vice headmaster Gold seemed to be glad that he had seen everyone off to the places he wanted to be.

As the girls moved to begin their search, Clark caught up with the vice headmaster for a moment. "Not to push too much, But why did the vice headmaster come see us?" This was what he had wanted to ask for a while. But he had kept it to himself since it might bring unnecessary stress to the rest of the group. They had to train and get stronger.

"Because I am in charge of the academy right now. It is best to show the best face, you know?" This seemed like Gold was avoiding the question a little more than he should. "Yeah, I thought that would work with the basic student, but from your face you are more cautious now. Then you should already know a thing or two about the largest dungeons? The unrecorded floors and beasts we never see?"

"Everyone should. Each city will send their best to keep them in check. But it's a well kept secret about where they are and what they might hold." The fact that massive dungeons existed was never a secret. Everyone knew they were somewhere.

"The headmaster is strong enough to delve fairly deep in one particular dungeon. He left a month ago and has been there since. It's not odd that he has been there for so long. But it is safer to keep that under wraps. Your group is important based on the new allies our city has. We do not turn blind eyes to those that ask for help.

Especially since the brightest of Nova is here. Now, I will be leaving to handle some business. Enjoy your time here and learn all you can. Remember, choose one of your group to join you at the auctions in a day's time."

As Gold left, Clark nodded slightly. The dungeon that Alexander went to was a big deal. He remembered that had been something Alexander had gone to do before this. But the fact that the headmaster of Terra Ademy was also handling a large unknown dungeon was a little too coincidental. It felt like there was more, but there was no way to prove that. It just gnawed at Clark.

Reaching the conclusion that he would need time to figure more out, Clark moved ahead to meet the girls again. He figured he would need to go to the auction, but it had seemed that vice headmaster gold had already seen that he would go as the leader. Now Clark was left with choosing someone else to go. But if he didn't bring Isa, then it would be foolish.

She could negotiate prices better than anyone white also having a massive well of knowledge when it came to goods. She might see something he didn't

"so? " This was the question that Clark found himself asked when the three girls noticed he had come back. They had barely made it a few feet from where he had left them. They had been waiting.

"The vice headmaster came to us instead of any attendants or professors because he has recently negotiated new allies with other cities. I would say that it's Nebula and Nova Cities. Therefore, I would say that the city lord of Terra is also the same and that we have more allies. But what worried me…" Clark paused. He knew the others already knew what worried him.

"That there might need to be multiple cities that help us dethrone the Mourne family. I know. They have their claws in deep with other families that want to take control of other places. I saw many different groups come in and out of the mansion while I lived there. It makes sense that Nova is more of a home than just a palace of control for them.' Maria looked disappointed.

Almosta s if she felt she had insulted everyone by not knowing more.

"Then we should be wary while here. Terra City has been untouched and never took sides. Now a lot of them took the Mane family side to help remove corruption. What do you think that means?" Clark and the others all knew.

"So let's go meet the professor and learn while we can before someone butts in. we can make the most of the time we have before someone picks fights." Isa knew that someone might cause them trouble. Therefore, it was like a ticking watch. The more they wasted the time, the less of it they would have. That just gave them all a better boost to focus up.

Especially since Clark knew that the Riverstone classroom was not at all where he would find this eccentric mushroom herbalist.
