Spirit Taming

Chapter 411: Back On Foot

Chapter 411: Back On Foot

The atmosphere was very positive as the others came out from their rooms due to the commotion. Even though they had not had a lot of time to rest, this was a very big deal. Isa had just been able to help her partner grow and change forms through a very rare materials was exactly what Isa had wanted and what she had been working towards.

Clark was the one that seemed the most observant though. Everyone saw that he had changed mindset a little. His eyes drifted and focused on things less. It seemed to them that he was learning more from small glances than from the longer looks that he used to have.

Not that this was much to mention, they were all awake now because of the commotion, therefore, they had all decided to go through their materials. This had left Clark a little on the spot since the entire group relied on him a lot. Although, they all knew that they already had set plans. Ella had already handed over the journals for each individual beast with their growth plans.

"It will need to be altered. The study of the ice maiden will be different forms now from the projected paths." Ella tried her best to sound serious, unfortunately for her, the excitement of seeing that a beast had changed completely different from her plan was too hard to hide.

"When Isa is finished, I will need to take measurements. We will also need to record relevant histories of winter witches appearing around the cities. Especially Nebula. We should be able to find it before we leave. That is the best course to prove that this is possible for future growth plans. Although, each material was not fully recorded with weight and size.

It may represent an issue." Ella was all about the details.

The best of the best growth plans would have the exact measurements and forms of the materials used. That was where things became tough. Finding the exact same materials in every way was nearly impossible. Therefore, many growth plan specialists would focus on the fact that they would be able to find similar things. From there, they would guide the tamer and beast toward the proper path.

That was the best that could be done.

Yet, because they had the specific measurements like this, then the materials were easily found to the right specifications. Many of the materials could be searched for or even harvested at that specification. Some beasts needed older or younger herbs of their elemental affinity. That was just the case many would make.

That was also why some of the families that lived along mountains learned to grow farms of earth affinity herbs.

Some families that didn't lay claim to any city as a home lived alone on their own territory. Once such family did business with Isa's family. They were able to carve out a large farm of healing herbs that allowed them to be able to hold themselves and their employees within their lands. It would never be a city but they were free to live without the political drama because of their hard work.

A nice thought.

"You know the basic materials but the key was the frozen rebirth lotus and the very high amount of ice energy that the ice maiden was using all its strength to hold on to and keep with it. Those two factors are why it was able to push through all of its struggles. It had already held its own growth back well beyond what it should." Clark made this point very clear.

An ice maiden that did not hold back its growth would never have the will to take a winter witch form.

"That means that the winter which is basically just a mentally tougher beast than the snow maiden. A beast that had the strength to stop itself from growing for the best option possible." Ralph had gotten a little less sour at being woken up and was now pretty impressed with the ice maiden.

"There's also the fact that Isa's body was stronger than most tamers would be. She has two very young beasts, one that is staying still at a growth point due to lack of a proper material, and the ice maiden that was holding itself back. Therefore, Isa was able to handle the high energy that came at her when the ice maiden grew. The flame sprite should do the same if needed.

But I think it will grow properly when we get near Solar and Lunar academies. Solar Academy has some lava flats near it, right? That should have great materials for fire type beasts."

This was mostly the rambling that Clark used when he just had thoughts on his mind. But the rest of the group was wondering just how far Clark was thinking ahead. And for the situation, it was very far. He planned to go from the glow sting jellyfish dungeons to Terra academy first. Then they would journey toward the warring academies and cities of Lunar and Solar.

"Excuse me, are all of you free for a moment?" The sudden intervention of a maid made the group stop in their conversations outside of the rooms they had been walked to.

"One of us is busy with their beast, but the rest of us are free," Maria spoke up and wondered what was going on.

"If possible, the young miss would like you to come to her father's room. She would like to introduce all of you. The healers and alchemists have left a few hours ago and the lord's husband has asked directly for the young miss's friends." The maid was very polite but it was easy to see the smile attempting to push itself on to her face.

She was also very happy with the news that the entire family was back to full health.

"I will come, we finished up just now." Isa looked a little pale because of the process draining a lot of her energy, however, her attitude was driving her. She was incredibly happy for the fact that she had been able to help her partner grow. She had also understood the great desire to rest that her beast would have.

If the winter witch did not rest and consolidate its new form, then it would suffer later. Especially in battle while they travel.

"Isa, are you sure?" Jerold and Reese were the two that spoke out their concern. They could tell the normally vibrant Isa was very tired at the moment.

"I will be fine. We will rest later again, right? You were all just looking through materials to do just that.' Isa waved the two away and followed the maid.

When they reached the room that Illia's father was in, they found that the man had sat up from his bed with some pillows as support. He was looking much better than before. His face had a pink hue to it as the blood was finally flowing properly. Although his breathing was a little heavy, he appeared to be fine on most accounts.

"You are the friends my daughter has made?" Illia nodded to her father. She appeared to be silent because of her general embarrassment. She had not been subject to this sort of thing before.

"And you went and met the ice dragon who I've seen before to get the materials needed to cure my illness?" Illia nodded again to her father.

"Very good. Then welcome to our home. I wish I could tell you to stay for longer but Illia has already told me that all of you have a long journey to get to. My daughter had some time stolen from her when I fell ill. I am glad she was able to make some friends her age. I may lack power since I am not a city lord, nor can my beast even show itself due to our weakness.

But I can offer you this."

The maid handed out small little crystal badges. Each was carved in to the shape of a snowflake. "Those are hand carved badges representing your relation to Nebula. While I am not the lord, I can use some power to make sure that my daughter's friends can come to our city without causing any trouble between cities or organizations. And little girl, this is not for merchant rights.

Just for personal visits." Illia's father clearly heard a lot about them. So much that she knew of Isa's family.

"Finally, thank you very much for your help and for taking care of my daughter. I may not see you when you leave, but that is fine. When you come back here I will have gotten some strength back. At least enough to give you all a few lessons on taming battles." Illia's father laughed a little and Illia had turned bright red.

She definitely was more and more embarrassed by her father saying he would be teaching them.

"Thank you very much! We helped Illia because she was honest and helped us when we came to her with plans for the tournament. She didn't back down or act like some corrupt people we have met. She was raised well and she is a friend. It was all as any friend would do." Clark sounded a little plastic and he hated that, but the truth was the truth. The entire group believed that.

"Father, we are going-"

"Yes yes yes, get out of here and talk with your friends. I have some stretching to do that the healers gave me." Illia's father had already been assigned work to do to get back on his feet. But more so, he was glad to see his daughter safe and sound when he awoke. The thought that he was in heaven had entered his mind seeing all of this.
