Spirit Taming

Chapter 402: Rude But Powerful

Chapter 402: Rude But Powerful

The entire group heard the threat. Stealing from her or her children was an absolute. Stealing anything was against the rules. This was clearly directed at the fact that the ice dragon could tell that they were all in awe of the materials in the garden. Let alone the entire castle. This castle was her hoard.

The jewel that showed off what she had when it came to power.

"So tell me, children. What do you have to do with me? I have never had anyone come to me like you have. Those other humans all came with worry and fear. They needed me and what I had. What do you need." The ice dragon was not a fool.

She knew that they had come for reasons.

Feeling that he had no choice, Clark stood a little more forward. "Under normal circumstances, we would be too weak to even come near you. We made a promise to a friend though. One that has a parasite in their body that is killing them. A disease that comes from a parasite that feeds on ice dragon scale-" the area dropped in temperature immediately.

The foolish man that came here and insulted my home as a prison. It is not one that I was imprisoned it." the grinding tone of a deep and rumbling voice had replaced the soft and sweet voice. Clearly, the ice dragon was not happy with this at all.

"Her father may have been that man and is going to die from that. We brought the eternal ice shards and eternal ice pieces so that we could offer them to your nest for a vial of your saliva as an antidote to the disease. It's the only way." Clark held his ground and received a raised eyebrow from the ice dragon. She had expected him to back away immediately when he heard her use her real voice.

"This is worth risking your lives? I see, you have become close to that little girl's daughter and that foolish man's daughter. You know that little girl came to me asking once for an antidote. She offered me everything she had. I held her here for five years while I debated what to do. I sent her back with nothing after she realized that she had nothing to offer me.

But you offer something for my nest? Show me."

The ice dragon watched as Clark showed off the eternal ice pieces he had. The eternal ice shard caught her eye the most but then the ice dragon leaned back on her throne again. "I have many of such things. The reason I am here provides me a great deal of such things if I desire to take them. Why should I take those for giving you something? You should be trading those for your lives."

While the strength of the ice dragon was clear, she was also clearly toying with them. An entertaining meeting that relieves the boredom of loneliness. That was why she had children and an entire dungeon with her. Clark also had a quest though. It was something that he had to do to get the things he wanted. But it meant much more that he was able to help someone.

He had his goals and he refused to leave others in suffering and despair behind to achieve them. He would crush the corruption and grow the purity he found in the world.

"Then you can stay in your ice castle forever. That's fine. I have no reason to share any further information with you. If that's just for our lives then I have no reason to spend more on you. The information I have because of my unique skills and eyes is worthless to you. Who cares if an ice dragon were to fly freely in the boundless skies?

Who cares if she is able to recover from her injuries? Especially if the way is forever lost because she is stubborn."

Without a hitch, the entire group looked at Clark with horror. However, the ice dragon was looking with the greatest amusement. "Well, I thought that would rile you up. I didn't try hard enough…" Clark sighed a little before picking up a piece of the eternal ice he had set before the eternal ice dragon moments ago.

His hands moved with slow and deliberate movements as he also took out a small knife and channeled his energy in to it. He was someone that the system had given knowledge to. The eternal ice forging techniques were still there within him. Were his skills above a real blacksmith's? No, not at all. But he was currently the only one that could forge eternal ice.

That meant he was the best eternal ice craftsman in existence right now. Someone that the ice dragon would definitely value above all others.

After a moment, the small piece of eternal ice found in the snow owl's nest had been carved in to a small spike. Almost like an arrow head but very rough. "Go ahead, break that. Break the eternal ice that I know you can't just break. That you can't forge. That you can't use for anything other than pieces of your nest.

Tell me what you think it can be made in to. Use your boundless wisdom to tell me that you are evil again and that you are not just waiting for a chance to heal and escape your self chosen imprisonment for the good of the northern world. Then, you can also tell me what you will do to permanently seal this place and be free to protect it all again in the sky and the many mountains."

It was as if the entire dungeon had been stopped in time. Clark had tossed the rough and barely useable arrow head of eternal ice to the ice dragon. It had fallen right in her lap making the others stop breathing. They even swore their hearts stopped. Clark had doomed them many times over.

"As a child, I heard the stories. The legends of eternal ice palaces made for the true ice dragons. For those that could craft worlds of ice using it. The realm of dragons is divided in to many elemental energies. Was it all true?" The whisper brought many questions but also proved to be something the ice dragon didn't truly intend to tell the group.

The look of amusement had shown a dull and blank look. The same that came of someone reminiscing about something from many years ago. The elderly often had it but for the ice dragon, it was many times deeper. When she napped back she looked at Clark and he knew he was the target of everything. "You can stay here for the price to be paid. They can leave with whatever they want.

When you create what you obviously know about you can leave."

This was a wild ride and the group had no idea what was happening. All of them understood that Clark had been trapped in a way though. "I could do that. Unfortunately, I lack the energy control, beast as a partner, and the simple fact that I will never have the talent to make an eternal ice totem that could replace you.

But." Clark saw the ice dragon begin to anger and stopped it with a single word more.

"I managed to lay the groundwork for humans that can learn this skill. To bring back eternal ice crafting and forging. I found a blacksmith in Nebula outside of her. He is currently obsessed with learning how I did this. I can find more and the little girl whose husband is ill and the daughter who is our friend can provide you with the best of the best to come here and work on it for you."

"You will have entertainment by watching them learn and work. Geniuses that will be able to truly show you what this art is. You might even be able to learn it. And when it all comes to, you might even be ankle to seal all of this perfectly beyond eternity. You might even end whatever this thing is sleeping here." the information that the group understood was coming together.

They had no idea how Clark understood it but they would ask later. He always seemed to have more information than anyone else. It was magical and odd.

"If every child of man is like you, a mystery, then the world will be a very chaotic place." the ice dragon showed the slightest dark glint before showing a toothy smile. Every tooth was sharp in her humanoid face. A terrifying image. "Yet you seem to be wise beyond your years. I accept your deal. I will keep this little thing and you can have what you want.

Take one painting and one herb as well. I expect the first artisan to be brought in a year. If not, I will send my children outside. They will be my hands." There was a burst of cold and the group found that they were standing alone in the garden. Even the throne had disappeared.
