Chapter 390: Very Few Beasts

Chapter 390: Very Few Beasts

Moving through the snow was proven to be easier than all of them thought. Isxa had stepped up to let her ice maiden make a path. The hardening of snow in to a solid ice that was easy to walk on was a special ability that came with manipulating ice in general.

But the control required was of the utmost skill since it had been made to create a safe path and not one that would cause the entire group to slip.

From there, Grace had taken the position of breaking the wind. Between her and the frost finch, they were able to manipulate the wind and make it flow over the entire group. While everything seemed simple and easy for Isa, this was a bit harder on Grace who had less experience when it came to assisting in manipulating the wind and ice. It took time to get to a better level.

"Hey, stop here and check that out. There are ice pillars up ahead if we take a left." Ralph had caught these out of the corner of his eye. He had been bored looking at the snow white area ahead and latched on to the changes.

"There's no way I am going over there. Reese should be able to sense why." Everyone turned to Reese and wondered how Reese would sense know why they shouldn't head a certain direction.

"You don't want me to tell them? My spirit infant warned me as soon as Ralph pointed it out." Ella was a little confused but she had been so busy recording environmental data that she had not been doing much else.

"You have a lot to write down about this dungeon. The growth environment here is too specific for so many beasts. The more you write down the better we can use it in the future." Clark was sure that Ella was taking in details that he couldn't catch on too easily. It was extremely valuable to their future.

"I have it! There's spiritual energy all over there. It's pretty thick too, I bet there's like an illusion or something! Right!?" Reese was very happy to grasp this. He was always focused on the metal energy that he forgot the spiritual side of his abyssal sword sometimes.

"Exactly. To be specific, it's a beast similar to the ice maiden known as a snow woman that changed in to s snow spirit." Clark looked again at the beast he could just make out through the snow falling around the ice pillars.

'Snow spirit woman- uncommon

The snow spirit woman is a beast that gained more spiritual energy after melding itself to the corpse of a dead woman. It Is now has undead, ice, and spiritual typing making it a triple energy beast. Unfortunately, it is too weak due to the clashing of energies.

It has a weak body that is its anchor to create illusions. It will make things out of ice to support them. When something comes near it will create the illusion to trap prey and steal away their energy. It can not easily gain energy from the world around itself due to the three different energies it possesses.

The longer..'

"It sounds like it is just a trap then. Lame." Ralph huffed a little since they were just going to keep moving. But Clark had read further to the analysis than he had said out loud. The last little bit that he had not shared with them other than the illusion capability of the snow spirit woman would help him and Devi.

"We can go there, I will have Devi defeat it. Since it can't move, the body that it stores energy in just sits there and condenses that energy to be used later. That means there are energy crystals that form right where its body sits." Clark smirked a little as he released Devi from the taming space.

The group watched Devi float toward the ice pillars. They wondered why he had not gone invisible until they saw that the pillars had changed. Instead of the ice pillars that had been there a second again, there were now just larger piles of snow with parts of ice imp bodies frozen in it. The pillars had actually been the monsters defeated and trapped by the snow spirit woman.

Devi's laughter was easily heard through the wind, but so could the new sounds of a beast screaming. It had never been countered like this by a beast with a stronger energy. Just because it had three types of energy within it, did not mean that the snow spirit woman was powerful. Without the innate illusion it set up working, it was trapped to be tormented by Devi's laughter.

But the screeching it made as it failed to form new illusions due to the stress proved to be exactly what Devi needed to get to its body. It was a signal as to where it was hidden. "And that pile of snow is where Devi will get a much needed snack.

He has been very low on energy and feeding him the cotton sheep were too little." Clark was happy to find the materials that could help Devi replenish energy better.

After just a few minutes, Devi returned dropping a medium chink of a spiritual crystal in front of Clark. His happy laughter made Clark praise him multiple times before the group wondered just what Clark was all about. It was still very odd to see a scary beast like Devi act so cute.

"We should push on then?" Grace was getting a little too tired blocking the end. Luckily for them, it appeared that the winds were coming in waves instead of a constant. This made it seem that the snow could whip up even more at any time. The large dungeons like this would surely have their own weather.

"Just rest, we can block the wind with ourselves. But I want to know what we might be missing under all this snow. There's no way that the castle is the only part of this dungeon, right?" seeing that grace had been pushed pretty hard to block all the wind, it seemed like a good time to take their first rest.

Especially since the dungeon didn't appear to have a sun and moon cycle that matched the changes in weather.

"I want to know that as well. The pillars could have been the first sign of structures that may lead to an under ground portion of this dungeon. Have you noticed that there are very few beasts above the snow? They hide in it, yes, but they are also few and far between. That can not be the simple work of the governing beast." Ella had been thinking about this.

She wished she could have proven the theory but unfortunately, it was the illusion of a snow spirit woman.

"Ella, we can test that out now. The snow and the ice has to sit on to something, earth needs to be mixed in here and there. Call out your earth prince and have it partner up with my crystal golem and ice maiden. While they break in to the underground to see if there are ice caves, we will rest up." Isa was charged and ready to try this theory.

She knew that valuable materials hid themselves away under thick ice.

As the three beasts showed themselves and started following Ella and Isa's orders, the others were huddling toward the opposite side of the space that the ice maiden had made for the group. The cold had been constant which was much better than it getting colder over time. The only issue was that they were all burning more energy than usual to keep warm.

"I brought extra dried meats and fruits. Just take them as you need." Brad appeared to have thought well ahead on this matter. He had bits and pieces already cut to bite size pieces. "I heard that it is better to maintain small snacks at all time to maintain nutrition for repairing muscles. Clark isn't the only one that went out. I had to find my own food for the journey."

"So that's why you told all of us not to only bring the basic potions most people use. Good idea.' Reese was very supportive of this. He had thought that he and Brad were training better and better together lately. But this advice had definitely paid off.

"Wait a moment. We shouldn't eat. I don't think we should dig either." Jerold's sudden interjection was off, he sounded worried. But when they saw him looking at the ground where he had been sitting they understood why he was worried.

Sitting on the ice had melted it slightly. Just enough to see that the ice was more or less clear. And that the ice was not leading to any ground they could see. It was clear all the way through. Just some potions were not ice. There were beasts moving.

As if they were in water.
