Chapter 365: Part Of The Family

"Not only did you sleep for nearly twelve hours, but when I do get here to bring you to the third year matches, I find that you are meditating already?" Professor Wright did not actually seem angry even though she was putting that act. She was actually very happy with how Clark had taken the stage for the last two battles and held absolutely nothing back.

What she was even more proud of, was that Clark had made a relationship with multiple academies. Lunar academy was the calmer of lunar and Solar academies. This was good since Lunar would definitely welcome Nova students more easily than Solar academy.

Terra academy was traditionally harder to visit because it was mostly underground. That made many people uncomfortable since they felt that they had entered the dungeons when they went inside. This general discomfort also never seemed to go away unless the people visiting had stronger earth type beasts that enjoyed the earth type energy that they could absorb.

Therefore, it was great that Terra academy had already extended an invitation for the first years students to visit them.

Thirdly, the relationship that Clark had shown off along with the entire first year team had shown off with Nebula was a large part of the gossip right now. Not only had ethereal academy angered all the cities, but the growing evidence that Ethereal academy was not who they said they were was mounting. Thus, when Nebula and Nova worked together it paved the way for everyone to work together.

Unfortunately, Nebula didn't make it to the finals in every round.

For whatever reason, the second year students had managed to get to the finals which was extremely unexpected. The very telling example had been one student who had yelled that he wouldn't be outdone anymore as he fought a harsh battle against another academy. That alone proved that he had pushed harder to win.

Upon the professors getting together and asking their students even after their losses in their finals matches why they had refused to give up, they had stated that they could not look weaker than the first year team and that they didn't care if it even cost them an arm. This attitude had won them five points that they definitely would have lost lives if their mentality was not so strong.

However, they had still lost but had united against ethereal academy keeping their lives intact.

The only thing that had further struck everyone in the arena by the end of the match was that even though the ethereal students had all died again, there was no reaction from the older ethereal academy students. Even though the audience was now openly jeering and calling them monsters. The only reaction had come from the leaders of their students.

They had begun to stand and give orders to their students while different energies surged around them making many understand that it was both orders and skills being used.

"You should be ready to see Ella fight with a lot of might today. Her team now relies on her since she single handedly beat Celestial sea academy the other day." This news stopped Clark in his tracks as he had stood up to follow Professor Wright out of the room he had been given for healing. He was not surprised to see the other had left him there to rest. He had to heal up in peace after all.

"Not only has she made sure to spread the news that she relies on wisps, but she has already gotten fifty three offers to teach the true growth paths of wisps.

She is being offered professor positions from the other academies because of her breakthroughs in this specific field." Professor Wright chuckled a little making Clark wonder if she was impressed or just trying to rationalize the massive growth that Ella had gone through in such a short time.

"The wisps were always a species of beast that was looked at as a material. To turn a material in to a beast that can be any form or fashion of typing is radical and very popular of an idea. I believe that your business with her will become the top supplier of wisp growth plans. But that is that and this is where you stand now.

Ella has denied every request for one reason, she isn't done learning yet."

The depth of this statement said a lot. To Clark, it meant that Ella was as greedy for knowledge as always. But to any academy head, it said that she still felt she could go further with her research about wisps. That she had only shown a drop within the ocean she believed there to be. Therefore, they had to look forward to even more in the future.

Especially after they learned she was part of a business for creating beat growth plans.

"That means we will have a lot of writing. That's fine though. We can sell copies of growth plans or make them for people. I can make sure that they get better too." Clark spoke casually but didn't catch that professor Wright was laughing a little at him still. She felt it funny that he was still looking at it as such a small thing.

"On a more serious note, the Star academy headmaster has left his personal guards with us and begun to prepare for an escape if need be after the banquet. He has also called the city lord's personal general to come here. Not to start a war but since he knows that Star and Nova are close. You should understand what this means?" The look that professor Wright gave Clark said it all.

"I will go with them if things go poorly. But I will not leave everyone so do not expect me to leave them behind. We all worked together to make each other string so it has to be done together." Clark made sure he gave Professor Wright the same cold gaze she had given him. She could only accept this since she knew she would not be able to beat Clark's stubbornness.

She always felt that she was dealing with someone older than he looked when it came to Clark. Little did she know his mind's age was greater than she knew.

"And before you are to meet with everyone, you have a friend here to see you." Professor Wright pulled Clark to a side room before they would head up to the seats where students should be watching the team's battle. It was unexpected until Clark saw someone familiar.

"Clara, you were able to come!" Clark had not seen Clara for some time. He knew that she had been following his exploits and how he grew because she had more or less said she would be keeping an eye on him. But he had not imagined she would be free to come to this event.

"Why would I miss it? You are family now, even if you might be marrying into a new family just formed. I really didn't think you would be snapping up string families to create a whole new one. And with someone like her. I'm impressed." Clara was clearly teasing, her smug smile said it all.

"But I am here more as a messenger…" Clara seemed sad to be unable to remain jovial. She had put Clark through hard training and been doing the same to herself. She also had not forgotten the circumstances that had brought Clark to fall in front of her and ask for strength. To learn anything for revenge.

"You showed off everything you had and it made waves. I expected you to make a wave before you were strong enough to face the toughest opponents, but since you made connections we have been able to reap those rewards. My father has already gathered more power than we have ever wielded. It put us at a stalemate against the Mpourna family for now. Your show here is the perfect excuse for another step.

We'll be joining alliances with other families in other cities. And since you are invited to a few, you will represent our contracts."

This was the very first mission from the Mane family. The family that had supported Clark when they heard his story and had brought him to where he was now. Without them, he could only imagine how he would not be anywhere near this match.Instead, he might have left Nova altogether to travel and fight within the wilderness.

He would have struggled for materials but been able to become a frenzied tamer capable of getting a small portion of revenge while never achieving it fully.

"I understand. I have some friends from other academies and will use that to my advantage. I am sure they have the same issues in their cities and we can join together to resist them. I want a place free from corruption as much as possible. I don't just want to kill the Mourne family now." This brought a soft smile to Clara's serious face.

"I'm glad you have grown. If you wanted pure revenge you would have it, but then we would discard you. Welcome to the family officially. You may only have your family name and not truly carry ours, but from this day on you can announce your name as Clark Stormwood Mane. adopted family of Clara Mane."
