Chapter 312: The Good Stuff
Chapter 312: The Good Stuff
As Crim walked out of the taming space, he let his dragon form shift. Soon, the crimson red slime ball that Crim was, was sat next to the two metal slimes. It was well over their height but the two slimes tried to stretch themselves up to match Crim. It was fairly entertaining to watch since Clark rarely saw Crim take this shape since he preferred the dragon from that he was most comfortable with.
"That was a dragon hatchling….a slime that was, no, wait…how can a slime be a dragon…it's a dragon slime. That's spectacular. It's a multi elemental beast. It's amazing!" the boy had found something he had never seen but heard of. Two beasts that were new to him. One that made his beasts fear to be eaten and another that his beasts revered.
How spectacular was this day?
"Wow wow wow woooowwww, my brother never gets this excited. He usually just falls asleep fixing things because he uses so much energy every day. Now you have him practically jumping around. Come on, I will show you the good stuff!"
The woman nearby and the man nearby finished their sales and came to see what their children were so interested in. "Crim, you can relax and meet the slimes for a while. I know you rarely meet others with slimes as partners like you. Just enjoy yourself for a while. And please do not cause any trouble." Crim moved back in to his dragon form and huffed slightly.
It was like a little kid telling their parents that they weren't going to get in any trouble and to leave them alone.
"Metal slimes are pretty cool but that slime dragon is cool too right? I am going to beat it in a fight one day. So don't get any wise ideas." Ralph had to talk himself up a little. What Clark didn't expect was the response from the brother.
"You fought a slime dragon? They are supposed to be insanely hard to fight. Tell me what it was like!"
"I see you managed to get our son right where his hobby exists. He has always read up on slimes since he found these two barely keeping themselves together. It was partially thanks to his other beast, the silver slime over there. It sensed the two metal slimes and that was it. He rescued them and fell in love. A great story, right?
Worth a little extra gold." the man chuckled before walking away again. He saw his children were doing great and was not worried in the least.
"If you need armor, my daughter can show you. The weapons are alright too, but we sold the best stuff. Sorry for your lateness." the mother just shrugged and let them be. She too was happy that her children had seemingly found some good clients. Especially since they could tell that their children were still being children and not having to remain perfectly focused on benign merchants.
That was why they traveled, so their children could see the world.
" The carriage was much larger up close, but the young girl showed Clark inside. Ralph and her brother had gotten too caught up in talking about battle and how slimes fought. It appeared that they were hitting it off much better. If the two were left alone. Clark had a feeling that the two might fight themselves just to have a little more fun.
"So, this is it! The secret stash for only the best customers. Not many people strike us as worth bringing in here. Just take a look. If you have anything you want, just say it!" The girl took a seat on a bench set in the wall. It was perfect to watch over the entire large carriage without issues.
The carriage was a massive surprise within itself. It had been perfectly set up to appear to be a tiny shop on the inside. Many materials were preserved perfectly on the shelves along with some unique weapons on the racks set in the wood sides of the carriage. There were even beast eggs in containment to prevent hatching.
'Violent ape…
Green swamp serpent…
Long scale armadillo…
Orange sparrow…
'Obsidian skinned frog…'
Clark was looking at the beast eggs and was impressed. Every single one seemed to come from a different place. Every single one had to develop in a different environment to that beast's growth. That meant that this family had truly traveled far a wide.
Wind elemental caterpillar- ultra rare
The wind elemental caterpillar is exactly that, a very weak caterpillar that only eats from the jade breeze tree. It is incredibly weak yet can still float through the air easily to reach its food. As most caterpillar beasts, it can reach a chrysalis or cocoon phase just by eating. It will need a dense wind energy to hatch in to a proper wind monarch butterfly later in life.
This is considered one of the weakest wind type beasts that can become one of the strongest wind type insect beasts. Not many have the determination to raise them because they only give a very slight wind manipulation skill through energy sharing.
However, they are known for the fact that they have a wind based body. They may be an insect type beast, but they can take a form that only requires wind to make up their body. It makes them the same as a wind elemental spirit but slightly different. Not many would be able to utilize this without special physiques or skills.'
"I will take the wind elemental caterpillar egg. I have a friend that can raise it. I will also take that set of dried jade wind leaves and seeds. They will be able to be its food." Clark saw a smile on the girl's face. Her energy was showing in her smiles. She was very happy to see that Clark was knowledgeable and choosing good things for her to sell.
'High health potion…
Golden crown…
Cracked water gem…
Behemoth dragon egg shell- legendary
The behemoth dragon egg shell is the size of a house. This small piece contains some energy from the behemoth dragon at its hatching. It is an ideal piece of shell to add to the strength of any dragon since it contains the nutrition for any young dragon to grow rapidly.'
"That egg shell piece is nice. I would like it too." There was no label but the energy in it was what it had to be here.
"Good! It has some dragon energy in it. I am sure that it is why you took it. You have a dragon slime!" The girl was very happy to see that Clark was also looking for materials here.
'Elven spring water…
Poison apples….
Fluorescent lily bulb…
Ore amalgamation- rare
The ore amalgamation is a strange piece of ore. It was a series of ore veins that mixed due to volcanic eruption. It is useless to a blacksmith but ideal for a beast to consume. It may help that beast grow in unexpected ways due to the ores being in different variations of strength inside.
Demon's calling card- legendary
This item is not one to be tampered with. The demon's calling card is a single card left by an intelligent demon. Demons are all considered in a wide variety of beasts that live in strange places and even other dimensions. They can be tamed but are often too intelligent. Using this calling card will call out a demon by releasing its stored energy within the card.'
Seeing that there was such a strange item, Clark felt he had to get it. He wanted to investigate it; demons were said to be the cause of many dungeon breaks. However, they were also considered a chance to gain a lot of strength. It could also mean an instant death. Many would not mess around with such a beast type due to this. They were more or less considered a race.
If demons did not fight among themselves constantly, it would be a sure fire thing to call them a race. Unfortunately, their species was strange and would never be considered as a race equal to any others. But that didn't mean that Clark didn't see value in this card. It was good to have something strange and unique in case the worst happened.
"I will take the ore amalgamation and that card. I like the way it looks." this was not unheard of, buying something on look alone was what most people told merchants when they had a gut feeling.
"I will wrap them up too! You can pay me the gold outside. You really have some good eyes." The girl was happily and speedily wrapping the items in papers. She felt that it was just right to do so.
"Oh, and I looked at your golden wheat, it's almost at the end of its life. I recommend that you have it preserved in ice so that you can have it made in to frozen gold dust. That way you can sell it to alchemists." Clark even offered advice. The girl easily nodded her head. Her family had wanted to do this but we're busy with their sales.
However, Clark even saw the tiniest detail of weakness starting on their materials. A great eye!
