Chapter 275: Take Your Future?
Chapter 275: Take Your Future?
Metallic energies surged around Brad. This was the high iron literally dissolving in to metal dust. The blood that Brad had used to draw symbols seemed to be mixing with the iron dust while moving towards Brad.
The possessed helm glowed with a red hue that shocked everyone. It was sitting on a pile of high iron to absorb it as well built in just seconds the red hue around it had caused the high iron to dissolve as well. In a slow movement, the possessed helm floated and placed itself over Brad's head.
The two had been brought back together which was not what Calrk had expected, but the moment that they were together the red hue spread. The wounds that had been healed and were still healing opened up again causing Brad to cringe and grind his teeth in pain. But when his eyes opened, he was not showing an ounce of fear. Instead, he had a pure determination that breathed steel in to his very being.
The metal energies from the high iron were wrapping around him while his blood seemed to be taking on the same traits. The ores seemed all but exhausted leaving only a swirling mass of red dust. This red dust began to disappear more and more but so did the wounds on Brad's body.
If one were to look at Brad closely, they would see the small faint red outlines of armor around his body. Even his shadow held some of these lines while the possessed helm seemed to be connected to them. It was as if the possessed helm was showing off the future that it had to the world after its tamer had pushed the boundaries of his soul and body.
"Instead of the taming space that he asked for and thought about, I showed him how to make the blood iron taming space. To be specific, it's a unique taming space called the blood iron palace. It's an ancient taming space that needs specific requirements.
A beast that is worn like armor, a tamer willing to bleed out their lifeblood to create the space, pure metal energy, and the perfect bonding of tamer and beast."
Professor Wright looked at Clark. She expected this sort of thing from someone without sanity. Yet right here in front of her, one of the students she believed to be the most advanced yet had just risked another student's life to create a more powerful tamer, and taming space.
"If Brad was anyone else, this would have failed. But he's a weird guy. He is lazy, sleepy, and uncaring about learning. Unless he hyper focuses on something. He could care less about being the most powerful tamer or a legendary family member of the strongest family in a city. It's funny because so many people want that." Clark felt that he could almost laugh out loud repeatedly with this in mind.
"But, Brad wants to see his beast become a full armor. He wants to be a defender that can withstand impossible attacks. In that essence, his mind works differently than most people's. He forgets everything and puts everything he has on the tiniest of details to make that one goal happen. This is the result." Clark knew that it had to be some mental condition that made Brad this way.
Many would see it as a weakness, however, it could be an unyielding strength if used correctly.
"Dangerous nonetheless. I will allow it though. If you did not select this based on who he was, I would tell you that you have created a great risk." There was logic here. That was undeniable. "However, I am unhappy that you would use something so risky. I have read ancient taming spaces like this.
The blood iron palace was something used to experiment on many young tamers once. The cult that used this method to raise its members was eradicated after destroying an entire village to create their armor of five."
"Seven hundred residents of this village were reduced to five. That was why this is an unused taming space practice. I will not ask you to refrain from this again, you will be expected to leave things be." Professor Wright understood many things. She was well learned as a professor and regretted the knowledge she had. But it made her wiser.
"Who cares what kind of space it is? It's what I wanted. I accepted this." Brad had fully absorbed the iron and a slight red glow of an Egyptian palace appeared behind him before the light faded and the possessed helm disappeared in to the taming space. Now ores were left. Now blood was nowhere to be seen. Brad had even healed further from where he had been just moments ago.
"You will want to lay down and rest." Maria pushed Brad down before he collapsed in to slumber. His body had just gone through a ridiculous process that literally changed the way energies flowed through him. "Clark, that was dangerous." Maria gave one glare at Clark but then softened her stare. She knew that Clark had just given Brad a way to protect himself in the upcoming tournament.
"So many ores lost…we could have made so much money." The thought of gold falling through her fingers made Isa shudder. Yet, she wasn't too heartbroken.
"Before we all sit down to rest. Well, I will introduce Brad later." Clark hesitated a moment then continued, "I asked Ralph and Isa if we could trust you, Reese, Grace. That was because I will properly welcome you in to our team." Clark stood up and let Devi show himself to the others.
"That is Devi, he's Clark's first beast and the reason we will be taking the first place in every single battle of the tournament." Ella was sure that the first years would understand this better than just seeing the ghostly beast appear.
"I made the decision a while ago. But I will go all in this time. It's the chance I need to show my strength and create proper allies other than those that are growing with me or because of me. I will start my war with the Mourne family soon. You have the chance to join me, or at least be under my protection when that happens."
"You should explain more." Professor Wright sighed. She saw the dropped jaws of Grace and Reese. "The Mane family is supporting Clark after the unfortunate events caused by the young master of the Mourne family causing trouble. This was the last straw for many and it has caused a change in the city. A new family has already been established because of his efforts."
There was a glint of recognition as Reese and Grace understood. Maria had gained the attention of two families who also had offspring with them. The Green family and the Rolly family had created a branch family between the two of them, the Spirit family. Currently only filled by Maria as the first member.
"You're saying that you will break those bastards down!?" An unexpected hatred bloomed from Reese as he understood what was being said and how he could fit in. "They had stomped on the sword styles of my family. They even tried to force us to become one of their servant families. We were lucky that we had enough strength to run away but my great grandfather was killed by them!"
"So you will join me?"
"Even if it costs my life. You will have my sword." This change in events shocked Grace as well. She was timid in life and had relied on her unique beast to keep her alive. But this violent proposition made her wonder, could she remain alive if she acted shy and fearful her entire life?
"Grace, will you come with us? Or would you prefer to stay where you are?" Maria spoke with a kind but firm voice. "Will you fight against the family that threw me aside and has tortured many just because they were weak?"
"But that is your family?" Grace was able to grasp that Maria had been Maria Mourne. The person talked about as a failure of the Mourne family and the only stain on their perfect record of power. A weakling. But now she was Maria Spirit, a brand new start to a brand new family.
"If I do… Can I join your family? Can I be free like the wind?" The idea of being free had always amazed Grace. Her wind whistler lived in the wind and was the wind. It was part of the air and always free. The feeling had always resided within Grace because of her connection with her partner.
"Of course you can. Why would he stop your freedom? Live under the Mourne family that rules with power. Or, take your own power and be free to live your life as you see fit. The only thing we wish is that you avoid corruption and bring up everyone no matter their strengths and weaknesses." Maria spoke calmly but full of pure compassion and steel.
"Yes." That's all Grace could say. She understood why she was offered this choice. A weaker person that had a chance. She took it. How could she not? A better city for everyone?
Freedom to grow and help others do the same? There was no other answer.
