Chapter 888 - 861: Just Now, You Were Already a Dead Woman
"There are differences, but still far from enough." As soon as the words fell, the person had already leaped, the tip of their toes landed on the windowsill to the side, and with a single grab, drew the fleeing Lian back to them.
Flipping down to squat, the rear collar being tugged suddenly ripped open. She shed the outer garment revealing the tank top underneath. "What a beautiful sight." She kicked up her right leg, aiming at Lian’s right hand, kicking it just so, the arm was forcefully kicked upwards, and with a crunch, it’s as if the whole shoulder was torn apart.
"I don’t care if I break your other one." Fourth Master stepped in front of Lian, grabbing her hair in one swift motion. "Let’s meet our main character!"
The person who should have been waiting in the room was nowhere to be found when Fourth Master kicked the door open, discovering it empty. "Where is he?" The icy voice echoed next to Lian’s ear.
"I don’t know!" Lian shared the same question, where had Xiao Lin gone?
"Don’t play tricks with me." He pushed Lian into the room, closing the door with his foot.
In the bright space, the room layout was easily able to be seen, travel information was laid out in the living room, the creases on the sofa showed that someone had sat there before, and the stereo played soothing melodies, what Lian used to help Xiao Lin sleep.
The gear on the table had been put away, the sliding door to the balcony was wide open, and the lowered gauze curtain danced with the wind; she remembered not having arranged it this way when she left.
Fourth Master pushed Lian aside, seemingly dismissive about using her as a hostage, after checking through two empty rooms to ensure no one was there, he returned to the living room. "Where is he?"
"You can see clearly there’s no one here." Not in the room? Lian quietly exhaled.
"Ha, thinking he could hide away like this?" Fourth Master pulled out a gun, aiming it at Lian’s head, under the bright light, the night outside clearly outlines the scene within. "Xiao Lin, I know you’re here, if you don’t want this woman’s head to burst, come out."
Lian breathed rapidly, the cold gun barrel rested atop her head; she could clearly sense its vibration. "He’s not here!" Lian shouted at Fourth Master.
Bang, a bullet went straight through the sofa, exploding the stuffing inside, Lian screamed instinctively whilst holding her head with one hand. "The next one won’t miss."
"If I were you, I’d drop the gun." At some point, Xiao Lin’s shadow appeared behind Fourth Master, the pointed tip of a sharp blade pressed against Fourth Master’s back. "You damaged my sofa."
"Lin?" Lian slowly released her hand, seeing Xiao Lin standing behind Fourth Master, holding two sharp blades.
"What happened to your hand?"
"Hahaha!" Before Lian could answer, Fourth Master lunged forward, dragging Lian from the sofa to the ground, clamping her in his grip again, facing Xiao Lin behind.
"Fourth Master, don’t anger me!" Facing the captive Lian, Xiao Lin’s gaze darkened.
Xiao Lin was angry, Lian could feel the chilliness underneath his gaze. "I should return that line to you, Military Doctor, you have angered me." He discarded the gun in his hand; Fourth Master grabbed Lian’s nape, causing her to shiver, the fear of these hands in her eyes was clearly visible to Xiao Lin.
"Let her go!" Fourth Master gave up the weapon; it seemed having a weapon was more of a hindrance, his slender fingers pressed deep marks into Lian’s neck.
"What are your terms to negotiate with me?"
"No need for terms." His right foot kicked up a shoe towards the left, the room plunged into darkness. Fourth Master paused, but he didn’t alleviate his grip on Lian’s neck, hauling her to the side to hide, the balcony right behind.
Lian grasped at the fingers encircling her neck, she was nearly unable to breathe, the coarse breathing echoing clearly amidst the darkness.
"Like this feeling, Military Advisor ?" Sensing the struggle in his grip, Fourth Master increased the pressure, accompanied by nauseating retching, pouring out from the lungs.
A sharp, piercing sound echoed, as if something had been pierced by a sharp weapon, Xiao Lin’s breathing sounded between the two women; the intense pain from his right hand forced Fourth Master to release Lian, who coldly withdrew the blade from his hand, watching fresh blood ooze from the wound, her eyes instantly remained bloodshot, charging towards the shadow in the dark.
Fourth Master’s reactions were swift; compared to him Xiao Lin seemed sluggish, realizing this, Fourth Master smirked coldly. "It seems you haven’t neutralized my toxins."
Xiao Lin blocked Fourth Master’s kick with his left hand, his right hand’s blade followed to her right thigh root, stabbing sideways; missing slightly, getting caught by her wrist, it sunk down, leaving Xiao Lin unable to react; Fourth Master seized the opportunity, using the blade she took from him, stabbing towards Xiao Lin’s shoulder.
"Careful!" Seeing this, Lian charged towards Fourth Master’s waist from the side.
"Seeking death!" The blade did not hit Xiao Lin instead turned direction, thrusting towards Lian’s back.
"Don’t you dare!" Xiao Lin’s eyes turned red as he grabbed hold of Lian. The short dagger in his hand collided with the one in Fourth Master’s hand, sparking a shower of metallic sparks.
Ha! The intertwined daggers couldn’t separate for a moment. The daggers designed by Yelü Shou were originally a pair. They seemed identical at first glance, but upon closer inspection, differences could be discerned.
"You take what’s mine, you must return it." Xiao Lin flicked his fingertips gently, and the dagger originally held by Fourth Master seemed to adhere to the other, easily landing in Xiao Lin’s hand without much effort.
Tearing off some fabric to bandage her hand, Fourth Master shook her injured hand. Despite the situation, she felt she still had a sliver of chance against Xiao Lin.
"To the room." Xiao Lin kept his eyes on Fourth Master’s movements, instructing Lian beside him.
"Okay!" Lian quietly retreated to one side, intending to enter the nearest room when suddenly she felt someone grasp her ankle in the darkness, the icy touch causing her to cry out.
"Let go!"
In the darkness, none could see the other. Xiao Lin relied on his instincts, kicking his left leg towards the direction of the attack. With a clang, it felt like he kicked a steel plate, sending a numbing sensation up his left leg. Without hesitation, Xiao Lin didn’t withdraw his leg but dived forward instead. The sharp blade grazed his skin, with the scent of blood slowly brewing under the metallic tang.
The person stabbed retracted their hand, rolling over to the other side. With a snap, the lights turned on, and the blood from his stabbed leg continued to pulse out.
"Xiao by surname, you’re forcing me." With a fierce look from Fourth Master, Xiao Lin slowly moved his position, the closed door swung open, and outside stood Lao Zhao, who had already boarded the plane. Gripped in his hand was Xia Xue, blindfolded, her trembling lips igniting Xiao Lin’s blood.
"Ah, such terrifying eyes!" Fourth Master backed up beside Lao Zhao, taking Xia Xue from his hands. "This woman’s neck is so slender. You know what my favorite sensation is? Hearing the sound of human bones being broken bit by bit, isn’t it similar to yours? Military Doctor, isn’t that your style of killing? I remember Elder Guo from Southeast Asia had no intact bones left."
"Know why?"
"Xiao Lin?" Xia Xue hesitantly called out Xiao Lin’s name through her blindfold.
"Because of this woman?" Fourth Master chuckled sinisterly. "Is anyone who touches her faced with such a fate?"
"She has nothing to do with me, dispose of her as you wish." Xiao Lin coldly glanced at Xia Xue before helping Lian up.
"Is it really no matter?" Fourth Master raised her hand, with a snap Xia Xue’s arm was brutally torn. "Ah, she can still endure."
Another snap and her right arm followed suit, the sharp sound reaching Xiao Lin’s ears. Lian worriedly watched Xiao Lin, though her arm throbbed with pain, her other arm confirmed the restrained strength in Xiao Lin’s grasp.
"Fourth Master, you’ve gone too far." Xiao Lin spat out, disappearing before Fourth Master’s eyes. Lian noticed a few blood drops on the spot where Xiao Lin had stood earlier. Attempting to grab him, she found herself clutching nothing but air.
An invisible pressure slowly seeped forward, forcing Fourth Master and Lao Zhao to retreat. A wave of heat swept from below, quickly engulfing in flames.
Retreating to the corridor with Xia Xue, Lao Zhao guided their escape route behind Fourth Master, as Xiao Lin’s hands hung by his sides, leaving a trail of blood dripped onto the ground.
"Hand them over to me, I’ll spare your life." Muffled words were heard, followed by Fourth Master’s sinister laughter.
"You protect yourself first, I’ll keep the person hidden for you, hahahaha..." Just as the boastful laughter subsided, feeling the person behind stopped. "Lao Zhao?"
"Master, they have back-up."
The flames that sprang up vanished in an instant, humidity heavy with smoke began to swallow the corridor bit-by-bit.
"Brother, you look terrible." Hua Qingyi suddenly appeared in everyone’s sight, surprising Xiao Lin.
Leaping down from the rooftop, Hua Qingyi launched a kick at Lao Zhao, who was unprepared and fell to the ground. "That woman is mine." Xiao Lin aimed at Fourth Master, intending to leave her alive, however, when she tore Xia Xue’s arm, that woman in her eyes was as good as dead.
Humph! Whether it was pain or fear, Xia Xue whimpered, Hua Qingyi ignored Lao Zhao, attempting to seize her from Fourth Master’s grasp. However, Lao Zhao moved faster than anticipated, his fingers hadn’t touched Xia Xue’s clothes before he lunged.
"Troublesome fellow indeed." Abandoning his original plan, Hua Qingyi swung his fist at Lao Zhao, who lunged at him. (To be continued. If you like this work, you are welcome to visit Qidian (qidian.com) to vote for recommendations, monthly votes. Your support is my greatest motivation.)
