Chapter 1025 - 993: Angel Adam

Chapter 1025 - 993: Angel Adam

Three people stood at three points forming an equilateral triangle, and their positions happened to be at the center of Sin City, encircling the giant object atop the energy machine that functions 24 hours a day.

A sharp scream pierced the heavens, and the three people furrowed their brows, staring in one direction. A tall figure stood beside a four-legged animal, its face indistinguishable from a high vantage point. The backdrop was the newly risen sky, and the two shadows it cast appeared as eerie shapes, seemingly fused into one soul, intertwining and entangling with each other.

A beast’s roar erupted, once again stirring the people of Sin City after the sharp scream.

"They have encountered each other!" Yelüshou recognized the caw of the crow, a harbinger of anger, the fury of pre-battle. Two people arrived at the place where Xiao Lin had let out the scream, but he had already left, and they were a step too late.

"I know where they went." Troy grabbed Yelüshou, who was preparing to run forward. "There’s only one place. It’s really simple to destroy Sin City, just come from above!" With that, Troy leapt onto a rooftop and dashed towards the center of Sin City.

The energy radiating from the inverted point of the equilateral triangle formed an invisible wall along the three sides, discernible only as subtle changes in the air’s flow.

Xiao Lin’s attention remained fixed on that point. He wouldn’t easily forget this person. In the cramped storage room, her scent still lingered in his mind. On the opposing line of her stance stood a gray and a black figure, looking at the formation. Xiao Lin sighed inwardly, even though he had always avoided such a situation, obviously, these people thought otherwise. Must blood be spilled?

"Angel Adam!" He used his aura to transmit his voice to the dark-clothed person standing in front of him. He gazed down at this petite figure, through the cloak, he saw the adorable face, big dark eyes, long lashes, pure and lovely. Her brow-length black straight hair hung between her eyebrows, the strands flickering in the airflow. Behind her, Lucifer and the Magician were guarding her from both sides.

The girl lifted her head, looking at the person standing on high, her robes fluttering in layers. The beast’s roar rang out louder and louder, oppressing the atmosphere to the lowest point. "’Wagangai’ were those twenty-two lives your doing?" As if giving himself a reason, Xiao Lin asked in a deep voice.

Adam nodded slightly in response. "Lucifer, you insist on destroying the ’Black Crow’ that Yi struggled to maintain in your hands, to make them accompany you in this meaningless game? Even at the cost of their lives." Lucifer did not answer Xiao Lin, his clothes fluttered without wind. And the last one, the Magician, Xiao Lin only glanced at him coldly. The Magician existed for the Demon King, a mere follower passing messages, some said he loved his Demon King, others claimed he tempted the Demon King towards Hell. Whatever it was, it could not change that he was Lucifer’s most loyal person.

Adam was the first to take off from her position, her straight figure seemingly levitating from the ground, her movements so swift they dazzled the eye. As she launched her attack, the Magician swiftly took Adam’s previous position.

There were no signs of fragmentation, nor did any buildings collapse with a crash. As Adam took flight, the crow leapt simultaneously, jumping ahead of Xiao Lin’s action, like a rebellious child.

Perhaps it sensed its master’s danger. Its sudden appearance forced Adam to alter her path, swerving to the left, as she delivered a palm strike towards the crow’s large head.

The crow was no ordinary Mongolian Wolf, it was a wolf raised on Xiao Lin’s blood, able to fight Xiao Lin to a standstill. In response to Adam’s palm strike, it merely shook its head.

Its massive body followed the head’s direction, scattering with agile ferocity, twisting in midair. Its left paw swung towards Adam’s waist, with several dozen pounds of paw descending from the sky with formidable force, once again pressing Adam downwards, blocking her upward ascent, and the two figures fell to the ground.

Xiao Lin emitted two consecutive whistles, signaling the crow to return, but the two falling figures remained silent. As Xiao Lin let out another fierce howl, a beast’s howl mixed with anger came from below, darkening Xiao Lin’s face.

A shadow darted downward faster than he could. When Xiao Lin recognized the figure, he froze. The distance from the high point to the ground was about four or five meters, and it didn’t take long before Adam’s head emerged from below. She looked somewhat disheveled, with multiple cuts on her body from sharp claws. Back in her position, she tore off her black cloak, revealing the white underneath.

The one who leapt up with Adam held a massive object in his arms. The crow, its tongue out, seemed to be in severe pain, a long wound on its abdomen nearly splitting it open. Seeing this, Xiao Lin could no longer contain himself. His eyes turned blood-red, his vision tinted with a red glow, animalistic in appearance.

"Damn!" Yelüshou, having arrived in time, shouted. The ailing crow was the catalyst for Xiao Lin’s bestial side to emerge.

Consort Ling, who had carried the crow up, felt their lips trembling unconsciously. Being the closest to Xiao Lin, they saw everything most clearly. This person made them shiver all over, rendering them unable to do anything, beyond the description of fear or horror at this moment. They couldn’t even call the being before them human.

Blood-red eyes, as if the blood in his body flowed backwards, dyed his dark pupils into a sea of blood. An invisible oppression radiated from his stance, nearly suffocating him, his heartbeat accelerating, struggling to keep pace with the rhythm.

Unable to move, unable to breathe, just watching him, as if attracted, as if controlled.

"What’s wrong?" Troy didn’t understand, seeing Yelüshou’s exaggerated expression as he tried to approach, only to be stopped by a loud shout.

"Don’t come over, don’t come over under any circumstance, if you do, you’ll die." Yelüshou moved as close to the edge as possible, avoiding the position where Xiao Lin stood. He hooked Consort Ling from behind, lifting him forcefully. "Quick, leave this place." (To be continued. If you like this work, feel free to visit Qidian (qidian.com) and cast your votes.
