Chapter 1020 - 988: Grim Reaper Descends (1)
"Mr. Hua, I think you’ve misunderstood. My client does not seek to achieve great things but hopes for protection in doing so. The Xiao Family is overly rampant, leaving no room for future meetings. This ruthless approach will incur retribution. Although I’m aware of the intensified conflict between you and Xiao Lin and your subsequent parting, you must also disapprove of the heir’s actions. Why not set aside past grievances and cooperate with me?"
"Our Hua Family repays every grudge!"
"That’s truly unfortunate! Please!"
"Wait!" No one expected Bessade to speak up. He took a deep breath, "Mr. Hua is my esteemed guest. If Mr. Shao insists on him leaving, then our Genovis family will not participate in any plan." Saying this, he prepared to leave with Hua Qingyi, which immediately brought an awkward situation to the scene. If memory serves, earlier, Kromop had openly promised that the Sicilian mafia would come forward for the owner of the Rose Staff. But is Genovis now publicly refusing his Godfather for this young Hua Qingyi?
All eyes turned to Nicholas, including Shao Weihua. His blue eyes carried a hint of amusement as he simply waved at Casab. "I respect my partner." In other words, he wouldn’t interfere with Casab’s decision, which undoubtedly embarrassed Shao Weihua.
Casab bowed slightly to Nicholas but was stopped before he reached the door. No one saw where this old woman came from, her face full of wrinkles, her petite figure with hands behind her back, only reaching up to Casab’s waist. "It’s you!" Though the face wasn’t the same, the axe in her hand unmistakably was. He stared at her in astonishment, then turned to glare at Shao Weihua.
"Mr. Casab, you might want to reconsider staying." Shao Weihua smiled, daring to stand in front of these people, unafraid to let them know the truth.
So when the woman appeared in front of everyone with her axe, the amiability had already been shattered. "Mr. Shao, what does this mean?" Mozafi frowned deeply at the sight of the woman.
Shao Weihua retracted his honest and sincere demeanor, stood up from his chair. "Regardless, you’ve all witnessed the existence of the Rose Staff personally. So please state your position: whether you wish to crawl out of this door or stand to collect money is up to you. However, there is one rule: those who have seen the Staff and are not for my use will only find a dead end. I’m sure you all understand this, hopefully making the right choice." This was undoubtedly a provocation to the present tycoons, as Cai Fanglin observed Ma Xin, who seemingly made no move.
"Let’s wait and see!" Ma Xin whispered, sensing Cai Fanglin’s gaze.
Casab had already taken action, using his intact arm to reach for the woman’s chest. Having suffered a loss once, he avoided her hands and lunged downward instead.
The woman jumped around, her petite form bounced from side to side, agile as if teasing Casab, always dodging just as he was about to catch her. In her hands, the peculiar little axe spun rapidly as if glued to her palm, never leaving it.
Behind the woman, a tall figure stood silently leaned in a corner, nearly merging into it despite the room’s daylight brightness, this corner remained ominously dark, making it hard to discern the person even with close examination.
His eyes lingered on the woman all the time, but at this moment his gaze had to shift to another person when everything instantly went dark, and the person had already closed in.
A scream immediately rang out as a bodyguard on the outermost perimeter was the first to fall victim, flipping his eyes as blood spewed from his mouth, collapsing onto the ground. The crushing blow had damaged his internal organs, and the indented areas on both sides showed the power he endured.
This was Hua Qingyi’s first killing in Sicily, and he did not hold back. The dead were insignificant. On the other side, Casab was clearly at a disadvantage, but he just focused on the person in front without caring about Casab’s life or death behind him.
"Where is Wang Zhantian?" This question was directed at Shao Weihua, his target clear; the first person to kill was this tall man, the next would be the woman, until Shao Weihua handed over Wang Zhantian. However, many present couldn’t understand why Casab would obey this young man, disregarding Nicholas’ face.
Cai Fanglin thought Ma Xin was right: observe, protect oneself, it seemed Hua Qingyi came with a purpose, while Shao Weihua’s identity remained a mystery, his power unclear.
Shao Weihua kept silent, the robust figure already kicked the corpse in front of him, charging towards Hua Qingyi.
Hua Qingyi stepped back, his right hand bringing up a gust of punch wind as he aimed for the axe chopping towards Casab’s head. Facing external pressure, the axe tilted sideways while the impact also took the woman along to the door. The tall man roared furiously, ignoring Hua Qingyi, as he dashed to the door, grabbing the petite woman’s body with one big hand. Then he swung his fist towards Hua Qingyi’s direction. The two collided without any fancy moves, forming a strong current sweeping towards the others.
Cai Fanglin was the first to retreat, pulling Ma Xin backward, while Mozafi flipped the tabletop to fend off the current. The only person who remained seated was Nicholas, with several young men standing behind him, and Raphael unfazedly standing to his right.
Shao Weihua was at the forefront. When the current roared past, it lifted his hair and clothes. The tumultuous sound seemed as if it would tear a person apart. Nicholas looked at this unassuming man in shock, recognizing his worthy prowess.
Then came another dull crashing sound, as the two figures that had just collided immediately separated. The tall man flew out, landing beside Ma Xin, while Hua Qingyi retreated four steps before stabilizing his form.
The tall man instantly got up, charging towards Hua Qingyi. As he slightly tilted, squatting down, his left arm jerked before a full-strength elbow strike aimed at the tall man’s chest. The entire technique advanced swiftly, even capable of a sudden change in such a short time, altering the attack form without Hua Qingyi daring to neglect.
Hua’s right arm pulled back, his right palm intercepting the fierce elbow strike, while his left palm met the tall man’s right fist following swiftly behind the elbow strike. With a crisp smack, Hua Qingyi meticulously intercepted the tall man’s attack, their bodies paused momentarily. Without waiting for Hua Qingyi to react quickly, leveraging the force, the entire body sprang upward, the right foot’s toe aimed at Hua Qingyi’s chest.
Hua Qingyi tenaciously gripped the tall man’s left elbow with his right hand, shoving forcefully, while his right palm smacked fiercely towards the tall man’s toe. Subsequently, with a low growl, Hua Qingyi spun rapidly on the spot, his right leg striking the ground as it slid, hauling up with a whistling momentum, sweeping with a mortal arc towards the tall man yet to land, who hastily pulled back his left arm to face Hua Qingyi’s fierce sweeping leg.
Bang bang!
With the muffled collision sound, the tall man was swept away with a groaning arc through the air, landing on the ground, visibly beneath the bright lights. His right shoulder’s clothing was already torn, inside blood stained profusely with flesh turned outward, exposing white bone.
Clatter clatter, something teetered. As Shao Weihua noticed, it was already too late. Sometime during the chaos, Hua Qingyi had snagged a piece of black velvet curtain in his hand, flashing a mischievous smile. With a tug, the mysterious staff would tumble to the ground.
"No!" Shao Weihua shouted, but Hua Qingyi had already pulled the curtain without hesitation.
A silhouette flashed beneath the light as the staff hit the ground. Simultaneously, another shadow darted towards the same spot.
Shao Weihua was pushed violently, flung backward before finding his footing. Before standing firmly, a gray shadow simultaneously waved two palms towards the approaching figures, shaking them diagonally away, tilting his body left arm to grab the Rose Staff in his hand.
Raphael eyed the man appearing in the middle intently. Earlier, he noticed Mozafi’s subtle action, but the wind from that man’s fist carried no harm.
Mozafi was less fortunate than Raphael. Blood continuously gushed from his mouth, dyeing the room’s air with a bloody scent.
The gray shadow seized the fallen tall man, his gray-clad figure under glaring lights appearing almost transparent. "You should be thankful it wasn’t for the staff earlier, else you’d end up just like this one."
Raphael felt as if under this man’s gaze he was being stared at by a Grim Reaper, spine-chilling!
Mozafi convulsed a few times before becoming motionless, even at the moment of death not knowing who killed him. Mozafi’s strength wasn’t weak, known by Ma Xin with past interactions. In the Middle East, aside from locals, Mozafi’s power was not to be underestimated. Yet this child-like person merely lifted a hand, killing on the spot while simultaneously pushing back the killing machine Raphael. Ma Xin’s heart trembled.
Nicholas stood up, walking out from the horseshoe-shaped conference table silently. "Three months, bring the Rose Staff in three months to ask our gang to do something for you." (To be continued.
