Chapter 662: Color Coding Seems To Be The Way
Three pairs of sparkling eyes were staring, though they were the eyes of samurai-speaking trio.
Standing in front of them were Sophia and Dante-san wearing training clothes.
「……so only three of them had assembled, huh.」
「Father, it can’t be helped. The citizens who’ve been living in the Sanctuary have work to do.」
「Even if it is as you say, Sophia, three is far too little.」
「Father, more will join from here onwards.」
In contrast to Dan, Madd, and Bill whose eyes were sparkling, Dante-san who was excited to come to the assembly place after learning of the new knight order was dejected that only three people had shown up.
「Dante-dono! Though there may be only three of us, we shall always be the shield of the Sanctuary!」
「Indeed, we will! Inexperienced though we may be, our determination shan’t be bested by any other!」
「Please, we humbly ask for your guidance!」「Ah, yeah……」
As expected, even Dante-san gave in to the pressure from the three.
Sophia was also brimming with motivation.
That was nice and all, but someone who was normally not in a place like this with a raised flag.
「Hey, I thought I should ask. What are you doing here, Salamander?」
「We’re founding the Sanctuary Knight Order, right? Then shouldn’t it have name colored names like Red Dragon, Black Dragon, and White Dragon?」
「Well, there are some countries that go by that naming sense. Others go by First, Second, etc.」
「Right? That’s why I brought the flag for the Fire Spirit Knights.」
「No, there’s a few things I’d like to comment on, but……」
Since it came about yesterday, it was inevitable that Salamander would have already have known about the knight order by today. After all, he was a Great Spirit. Still, for him to have even gotten Kaede to prepare a flag……
And so, when I looked at the flag Salamander was holding, it had the picture of a salamander on top of the Spirit Tree.
「Nice flag you have there, but are you really planning to split up the knight order when there’s only three members?」
「Yeah, right now, Sylph and Undine are placing an order for flags with Kaede.」
「Uhh, I could kinda see that from Sylph, but even Undine is?」
「Hm? Undine said that she already had those mermaids.」
「……so those five had already been dragged into this.」
Fluna and the others seem to have gotten caught by Undine. Hopefully it doesn’t interfere with their workk.
「Hey! You’re slowing down!」
「Don’t flap around when running!」
While I was chatting with Salamander, Undine and Dante-san had already begun training the samurai trio.
Right now, they seem to be running as part of their warm up.
「Then I will discuss the Fire Spirit Knights armor with Laeva.」
「Hold on, don’t ask Laeva for unreasonable things.」
「I know.」
After Salamander waved me off as he disappeared, I moved my gaze over to Sophia and theo thers.
Before I knew it, the number of people increased to six.
「Eh? They’re increasing?」
「Fufu, it’ll grow even more, you know?」
「Uwah! Don’t scare me like that, Sylph.」
I was surprised when Sylph suddenly appeared without a trace and talked to me.
Sylph enjoyed making her presence disappear to play tricks like this on me. She’s a Wind Spirit and is completely free-spirited, so I’ve just resigned myself to it.
「Sylph, are you doing the same as Salamander?」
「Yep, the Wind Spirit Knights.」
「Even if you split them half and half with Salamander, I don’t think three people would count as a knight squad.」
「Oh, my squad is only for the Elves.」
「Eh!? Only for the Elves?」
The number of recruits running with Sophia and Dante-san doubled to six before I knew it, but when I told Sylph that she would have to split them to 3-man squads with Salamander, she said that her knights would be limited to the Elves.
There was definitely a lot more Elves than Humans in the Sanctuary, but everyone had jobs, so I thought there weren’t any that could join the knights.
「I thought it was impossible because everyone was busy with work.」
「I know that much. That’s why I chose some promising children from Yggurle Kingdom and called them in.」
「Wha?! You’re inviting from Yggurle Kingdom!?」
「That’s right. So there’s no problem.」
I think that’s a LOT of problems. I’ll have to inform Madam Lumia and Mimir.
Still, the Sanctuary Knights seemed like a completely impulsive, poor idea.
I later heard that even Gnome started inviting individuals from Gnomstoll Kingdom.
There’s quite the distance from Gnomstoll Kingdom to the Sanctuary so it would take some them some time though.
Salamander, Sylph, Gnome, and Undine declared that they were founding their respective knight squads. A knight squad isn’t defined by its numbers though.
However, I would later come to realize that I had severely underestimated the influence of the Great Spirits.
