Chapter 391: Kaizan And Eira
Chapter 391: Kaizan And Eira
Eira’s POV
Now that everything was calm and the event was about to be concluded with the guests heading for the meal, someone came to us.
"Feeling fortunate, Alpha Kael?"
I recognised the person in one glance.
Kaizan Blackmoor, the bastard who wanted that bitch Sophia.
"Never must have thought your mate is from the royal bloodline," he commented again looking at Kael and other four, his lips curved into smirk.
"I understand if you are jealous," Lucian said, "After all what you get is that filthy hybrid bitch."
Unbothered by Lucian’s remark, Kaizan scoffed wickedly. "Well, indeed a bitch," and turned to look at me, "I must thank you for how desirably perfect you turned her into or that bitch would have cheated her way out from being my perfect pet."
My brows furrowed. What does this bastard mean?
"Shawn," he looked over his shoulder to a man standing behind him. Maybe his mate brother.
Shawn pulled out a mobile, did something and held it before me. On the screen I saw something shocking.
Sophia, barely having any clothes just to cover her private parts, was living inside a small dog house that barely contain her folded form, her blond hair was cut short as if to match the appearance of a golden retriever dog, she didn’t have fingers and palms, so all she could do was to eat food and drink water in the bowl the way a dog eats, straight using their mouth.
The fuck!
Is this the same bitch? "With her palms chopped, she can’t cheat her way while eating food," the bastard commented. "See, I am very soft towards my pets to hurt them, so it was good she was ready before she came to me. You have indeed done a great job."
He was praising me for chopping her hands. This bastard truly felt so wicked and it was impossible to understand the kind of character he was.
So wicked and mysterious that I would prefer to stay away from such beings.
"Are you done showing off your pet?" Roman asked, "Then, you can leave."
"Well, how can I not show off such a special pet?" he replied coolly.
I wonder if anything ever affected this bastard and it could take away that smirk off of his face. I won’t say anything to him as I owe him for helping my mates with Raven’s matter.
Also, it would be a lie to say I wasn’t happy to see that bitch Sophia suffering like this. Rafe was right. This bastard will be her greatest punishment. Thankfully he stopped me from killing her. That would be a mercy on her.
Before leaving, he said, "I must say I am happy to see people back to where they belong," his gaze passed by me, "Happy for you, especially," and walked away.
What? Why did he feel kind towards me? Was I mistaken? Was I missing something here?
"Kaizan, I will pay you back for what we owe you." Kael, who had been quiet until now, not even bothering to shoo away this other pack Alpha, finally spoke.
He raised a brow at Kael, "Are you sure, you can?"
"Nothing would be enough to repay it, but if you ever need my help, just say it," Kael said.
"I wish that unfortunate day never comes," he said flatly. "Just don’t lose again what you finally got," and walked away, making it clear he didn’t want any help.
What kind of confidence and pride he had to reject an offer of friendship from someone like Kael.
Wait! The most important thing was what Kael and he were referring to.
"Kael, is there something I don’t know?" I asked, "I feel so off whenever I see that smug Alpha and hear his puzzling words like we owe him our lives."
Kael let out a shaky breath. "You are back to us, it’s all thanks to him."
"What do you mean?" I asked, unsure.
"He was the one to plant you back in our lives," Kael said, "Traffickers selling you to us, wasn’t a coincidence. It was all his plan."
Damn! I felt like a huge shock grappled me.
"He? What was his purpose? Was he with the enemies?" I asked. It was all so confusing.
Kael shook his head. "I am yet to know why he spent years looking for you and bringing you back to us. But I am entirely sure he is not with our enemies."
I looked in the direction where Kaizan had walked away, but I couldn’t find him now like he had disappeared among the crowd.
There was something about him, that bothered me, puzzled me, and I couldn’t understand what.
"He is like a ghost. Mysterious," I mumbled.
By the late evening, the event was over with all the guests gone, leaving us, only the family members.
What was left now was the first shift of Evan.
All of us reached by the lake side inside the palace. A beautiful lake reflecting a bright moon and stars from the sky, and surrounded by the woods the other side.
Though it was the day Evan was born, but the exact time of his birth was yet to be there where it marked the completion of age of sixteen.
My other mates talked to Evan, probably to guide him with the transformation he was going to face, while Kael knelt before Raven and explained him about why we were here.
It was the first time Raven was going to witness a first shift and he will know what to expect when his time came after a decade.
Alpha Gerald and Luna Iris talked to Evan as well, and told him it was the time.
Everyone stepped away, giving him a space. A gentle moonlingt from the sky felt like it was blessing Evan for this important moment in his life.
Facing towards the lake, and towards the moon, he removed his clothes and was ready to face it as he closed his eyes to surrender to the moon goddess.
Soon he got on all fours, a shift started. It looked painful for him, and to me as well. It wasn’t long when I faced it as well, and at first the pain felt like soul shattering.
Alpha Gerald and Kael guided him like his elders, and soon a massive black wolf was standing before us.
It’s dark fur softly moved along the gentle breeze, and shown under the moonlight. He looked powerful, yet ethereal. Gone was that young and charming boy.
On my side, Raven was witnessing it with entire focus, and his gaze showed he was amazed to see the outcome.
Evan, now in wolf form, first went to his parents to get their blessings, and then came to us. I couldn’t help but touch his forehead and smiled. "You look amazing. A powerful wolf."
In response, he licked my hand and then lowered his head to Raven. I could feel Evan’s affection towards Raven already.
Raven touched his head as well, a light smile on his lips now.
Evan turned to walk away, as he turned his head back to Raven, nudging him for something.
"Uncle wants you to have a ride with him," I told him.
Raven looked delighted. Kael helped him get on Evan’s back, and all of us watched him riding slowly along the edge of the lake as Raven held firm on his fur.
As it was the celebration, my mates and Alpha Gerald shifted in their wolf form as well, and made a celebratory howling sounds that echoed everywhere.
Soon, various howling sounds was heard across from everywhere it was possible. The pack was celebrating the first shift of their prince.
Now I looked forward to the day when Raven grew up and had his first shift. Then he would be powerful and strong enough to protect himself with his wolf awakened.
Luna Iris stood by my side as we watched all the wolves riding along the lake shore. There were three black wolves now. Kael, Alpha Gerald and Evan.
Despite the same appearances, even from a distance I could recognise who was who.
When they returned, I watched Alpha Gerald in his Wolf form closely.
Those eyes, that intensity in them didn’t feel foreign. Those were the same pair of eyes that belonged to the black wolf in my dreams who chased after me.
That black wolf wasn’t chasing to kill me, but it was a desperate father trying to get his child back.
That must have been truly painful for him.
