Chapter 374: Lucian And Jason
Chapter 374: Lucian And Jason
Eira’s POV
Lucian walked over to me. "What’s the matter?"
"There’s no point telling you," I muttered, still shifting through the dresses. "You’ll say the same thing as the others."
Without arguing, Lucian stepped closer and calmly pulled out one of the dresses from the wardrobe.
"This one," he said.
He held up a royal blue knee length dress.
"It’s a formal occasion. This will look elegant and beautiful on you," he explained with surprising certainty. "You can wear nice jewellery with it. And heels."
I stared at him in complete surprise.
The way he said it sounded so confident, almost like an expert.
"Are you sure?" I asked, still doubtful.
"Absolutely," he replied without hesitation, already pulling the dress fully out of the wardrobe for me.
We bought these dresses on my birthday when we went on for shopping, keeping in mind about our visit to this pack and also my slight round growing belly.
"I’ll try it then," I said and walked towards the bathroom.
Even if Raven wasn’t here, I wasn’t going to risk changing my dress in front of these hungry wolves, or I was sure we wouldn’t make it out today to meet Alpha Gerald and his family.
Once wore the dress, I looked at myself in the mirror. I must say I liked what I was seeing.
The dress was a deep navy blue, elegant and refined without being overly flashy.
The V neckline was simple yet graceful, designed to elongate the neck and give a soft feminine touch. The fabric was a soft stretch knit that would gently contour the body while naturally accommodating my baby bump.
My fingers brushed over the short cap sleeves. They were made from delicate lace, light and intricate, adding a subtle beauty to the design without making it look extravagant.
The skirt fell to the knees, fitted in a way that followed the natural curves of the body and the roundness of my belly without appearing tight or uncomfortable.
It was elegant.
Understated.
Perfect for meeting royalty.
Without realizing it, a small content smile formed on my lips as my fingers lingered over the fabric.
Lucian certainly has good taste in these things.
If I remembered correctly, he had been the one choosing most of my dresses lately.
But how was he so familiar with all this? A suspicious thought crept into my mind.
Had he bought dresses like this for other women before me?
Jealousy stirred quietly within me. I narrowed my eyes slightly.
I would ask him about it later. And the answer had better be no. Otherwise, I would not let him touch me for at least a month.
I shook my head to get rid of the jealous thoughts.
Not now, I needed to get ready.
I returned to the room, intending to ask them how I looked. But the moment I stepped inside, the question died on my lips.
The way all of them looked at me it already.
Their gazes moved slowly from head to toe, openly admiring, almost devouring. I did not even need words to understand their reaction.
Without asking anything, I quietly walked to the dressing table. Yet I could still feel their eyes following every movement I made, as though I were standing there completely naked
Hungry wolves. I sighed inwardly. There can never be a normal day in my life when they do not want to eat me.
Thankfully Raven was here to keep them away from me. My son. My little saviour.
I opened the jewellery box and began rummaging through it, trying my best concentrate under those heated gazes around me.
After a moment, I let out an irritated sigh.
"Will you all stop staring at me already?" I complained, glancing at them through the mirror. "Do I look like some alien you’ve never seen before?"
Then I quickly looked at Raven and softened my tone. "Not you, baby."
They finally seemed to regain their senses.
Lucian stepped closer again.
"Don’t wear anything on your neck," he said thoughtfully.
He reached into the jewellery box and picked up a pair of pearl drop earrings. "These will do."
At this point, I simply decided to trust him. He had already chosen the dress after all.
I put on the earrings and looked at my reflection.
They matched perfectly.
I turned slightly toward him. His gaze lingered on me with clear appreciation, and I could sense the others watching me again as well.
"We need to do something about your beautiful hair too," Lucian said, his fingers brushing lightly through the strands that had almost dried by now.
"Jason," he called.
I blinked in confusion. Why was he calling Jason? Was he secretly a hairstylist too?
Jason walked over calmly and gestured toward the cushioned stool in front of the mirror. "Sit here."
I sat quietly.
He began working with quiet concentration. I watched his reflection in the mirror as he combed through my hair. Most of the work, however, was done with his fingers, which moved effortlessly through the soft strands, arranging them with careful precision.
He gathered the upper section gently, lifting it to create soft volume at the crown before securing it at the back of my head with a delicate pin that matched my earrings. The rest of my hair fell freely down my back in loose, natural waves.
His hands moved to the sides of my face as he studied my reflection in the mirror.
Carefully, he loosened a few strands to frame my cheeks. His fingertips brushed lightly against my skin, and the subtle contact sent an unexpected shiver through me. I swallowed quietly, forcing myself to remain still.
"It’s done," he said at last, observing the result with quiet satisfaction.
I leaned slightly closer to the mirror to examine myself.
Even with my hair mostly down, the earrings were perfectly visible. The overall look was soft, elegant, and refined.
For a moment, I barely recognized myself.
I had never seen myself like this before like a beautiful and elegant woman.
He was fast and good.
It reminded me of my first visit to the council where they wanted to hide my face from others.
That day, Jason cut my hair in just a few moments by simply using short knife, and the result wasn’t bad at all.
