Looking at the Slime in the arms of the beautiful blonde Elf, Lisa felt a flame burn in her own chest, a mixture of anger, frustration, and a whole host of other feelings she couldn’t even describe.
This was the first time she had ever felt anything like that.
Despite her good looks, a good family background, and being very well-mannered. Factors like these, which in any other situation should have been great assets for her, given how excellent all these points were, actually became problems for her.
Her good looks, capable of dazzling people of any age or gender, caused people to take more interest in her appearance than in her personality.
Her good family background, if it were limited to just "good," wouldn’t be a problem, but since it was the Vance family, many people were interested in getting close to her not for who she was, but for what her family represented.
And her upbringing was another issue: because of her identity, she had to display exceptional manners in any environment or situation, unable to let her emotions cloud her judgment or bring shame to the Vance family.
This combination of factors meant that even though Lisa was an almost "perfect" girl in every way, she had never actually had to deal with true, intense feelings.
And for the first time, witnessing this very scene of the person she couldn’t get out of her mind, being held in someone’s lap, in contact with another woman’s breasts, left her unsure of how to react.
With such a whirlwind of emotions, and unable to vent them, Lisa simply turned and ran.
Lohan wasn’t stupid; noticing how the fox had reacted and the fragility in her voice, he didn’t hesitate to jump off Aeliana’s lap and quickly roll after Lisa.
Aeliana was completely lost as to what had happened. One moment she was having fun with Halon, the next she sensed Halon was frightened by something, then his fox friend appeared, stared at them for a few seconds, and ran off.
And then Halon jumped off her lap and left her there, lost and alone.
"What happened?" she asked herself, hurt.
Sensing that perhaps something important had happened, Aeliana grabbed the wooden staff she kept on her back, and with a slight movement of the staff, a breeze arose beneath her and she flew away.
Meanwhile, Lohan was rolling at the maximum speed he could maintain, but there was no comparison, his maximum rolling speed was 2.77 m/s, while Lisa at Level 9 was already capable of running close to 20 m/s!
"Lisa, wait for me, let’s talk!" Lohan said through their mental link.
"Talk? Go talk to that elf, leave me alone!" Lisa shouted back through the mental link. Unlike the coldness and confidence she usually displayed, her voice was now weak and wavering.
Seeing her drift further and further away, Lohan projected a small black tail behind him, and a small explosion erupted immediately afterward, sending his small body flying through the sky of Thalendor.
People passing by were startled by the sound of the explosion, quickly going on high alert, only to be shocked when they saw the sight of a small, bright blue ball with a fluffy black tail flying through the sky above their heads.
With the momentum from that explosion, Lohan finally managed to close the gap between him and Lisa, but just as his speed began to slow, Lisa pulled ahead again and sped away, darting between the legs of the people around her.
’Damn, if I could just launch myself straight ahead, I’d catch up to her quickly, but with so many people in the city, if I hit someone along the way, it’ll be a huge problem...’ he thought, frustrated.
Seeing no other alternative, he simply followed Lisa wherever she ran, hoping she’d leave the city or head to a less crowded place.
Meanwhile, he kept talking to her. "Lisa, calm down. There’s no reason for such a strong reaction. Does the fact that I’m with Aeliana upset you? Let’s talk about it."
He knew that asking silly questions like "What did I do? Why are you angry?", even though he already knew the reason for her anger, would only make the fox even angrier.
And given the life he’d lived in the other world, the only way he could think of to handle this was to be rational: to think through the problem and propose a peaceful, mature solution.
Hearing what he said, Lisa unconsciously slowed her running pace a little, unconsciously accepting his proposal, but still too hurt to say so openly.
The intense mix of emotions she felt was still there, squeezing her chest tighter and tighter, but at the same time, she wasn’t angry enough to do something irreversible.
There were just so many feelings she didn’t know how to deal with.
Noticing her signs of acceptance, Lohan continued.
In a calm, melodic voice, he spoke through the link. "I know we’re spending a lot of time together in Elysium, to the point where the first thing I think about when I log in is talking to you and finding you, so we can be together all day. So I imagine you’re frustrated that I changed my attitude so suddenly to ’hook up with another girl,’ but that’s not what happened, Lisa."
"Her master invited me to her magic tower to conduct some studies, and since I had already promised this in the past, I accepted. After the studies, following a near-death experience I had while trying to digest a Level 13 Mana Stone, Aeliana invited me to check out her favorite candy shops in Thalendor. Nothing else happened between us, and if you’d been with us, I’m sure it would’ve been even more fun."
Hearing those words, Lisa let out a sigh she didn’t even realize she’d been holding, and the pain she felt in her chest eased slightly, causing her to change the direction she was running in, to run out of the city, now more open to talking to him face-to-face.
Even more so after hearing him say that he had faced a near-death situation in the tower of Yrneha.
’Geez, Isabella, why did you react like that?’ she thought, frustrated and embarrassed by how she’d acted, but still a little hurt.
