Sixth Ring Wizard

Chapter 712 712: Forever

Chapter 712 712: Forever

Herag was very clear about the direction of the river surface and also knew how far he was from it.

In this situation, even if he could only move one centimeter upstream each year, he would eventually reach the river surface.

What Herag needed was time.

And for him now, time was almost infinite, having an infinite lifespan, as long as he didn't suffer external forces, he would hardly die.

What Herag might need to consider is whether he could truly break through the river surface and transcend the Mother River once he reached it.

He couldn't reach a definite conclusion on this matter yet; just based on the current information, it's hard to speculate any precise results.

Most likely, only by actually touching the river surface would he be able to find out any information.

Herag was still far from the river surface, requiring a long time; this problem couldn't be solved in a short period.

After bidding farewell to the Thousand-Eyed Ancestor, he returned to the Wizard Plane.

Herag planned to do something, which was to elevate the strength of the people around him first.

He realized during the process of advancing to a Level 8 Dominator that the distance between himself and those around him was growing wider.

In the future, it is possible that he would only have taken a brief nap, and an entire era would have passed.

Herag now held countless resources, which could help pave the way for people around him.

...

The City of the North.

Todays City of the North was already a gigantic city; even across the entire Kala Continent, the City of the North might be considered the largest city.

The Northern Region was vast, and even a great city like the City of the North seemed somewhat insignificant in the whole Northern Region.

The Northern Castle was the residence of the great Level 8 Wizard Herag Merlin and was a holy land in the hearts of everyone in the Wizard Plane.

The legends about Herag were continually being spread across the entire Wizard Plane; even novice Wizard Apprentices on their first day knew Herag's deeds.

It was a sunny afternoon, and the great Level 8 Wizard Herag quietly walked out of his Meditation Room and silently came to the Inner Castle.

Asuna sat in front of the study, carefully reading a book titled "High-tier Elemental Principles," while Chatiya lay napping on the sofa next to her, breathing very steadily.

This was a castle exclusively for Asuna, and like Reese, Chatiya, Erza, Misu, and others, she had a castle of her own along with dedicated servants to attend to her.

The Northern Castle was huge, naturally not lacking this bit of space, hosting people with very close relations to Herag.

Chatiya loved to play with Asuna and enjoyed staying with her.

So even though she had her own castle, she often stayed with Asuna.

Unless Herag was around to accompany them, Chatiya would then stay with Herag.

Chatiya and Asuna had a deep bond, from when Herag left the Black Rock Valley long ago, they had always stayed together, sharing a sisterly bond.

Herag came into the study without making any noise and did not get noticed by Asuna, who was still very focused on reading her book.

"This book is quite good, it's worth reading more," Herag quietly came beside Asuna, lowered himself, and whispered.

Asuna, upon hearing the voice, was momentarily stunned, then turned to look at Herag with a radiant smile.

She slightly propped herself up and pecked Herag's cheek quickly.

"Missed you." Asuna wrapped her arms around Herag's neck without saying much, as she was always a bit shy.

Herag, holding Asuna's warm body, said, "Very well, you've been meditating properly; before long, you'll be able to advance to a Level 3 Wizard."

Asuna was the most diligent in her practice among Herag's women, with few hobbies, spending most of her time on studies.

However, her progress wasn't the fastest; the fastest was Chatiya.

Chatiya was the least diligent among the women, thinking about playing every day and wanting Herag to accompany her.

Despite this, her rate of progress was still fast; she was already an Elf of Level 3 Wizard rank.

This was the might of the Royal Elf Bloodline—that even without effort, one could ascend through Bloodline Power.

Herag and Asuna showed a bit of affection, causing some soft noises, Chatiya drowsily woke up.

She sat up from the sofa, her camisole slipping down, revealing a snowy white expanse.

Upon seeing an extra person in the room, Chatiya immediately sobered up, leapt over in two steps upon seeing Herag, clinging onto him.

"It seems you haven't been diligent in Meditation Practice; your Spiritual Power is about the same as last time. You are a Royal Elf; with more effort, you can progress faster," Herag said after checking on Chatiya's state.

Since childhood, Chatiya never felt pressured, and naturally lacked motivation for effort.

For her, being able to grow strong without doing anything did not genuinely demand much effort.

But from Herag's standing, this definitely wouldn't do; better conditions combined with adequate effort could reach higher levels.

The Royal Elf Bloodline was an extremely powerful lineage, even though it originated in the Elf Plane—a Middle-tier World—it wasn't weaker than many High-tier World bloodline powers.

What limited them was merely the grade of the Plane itself.

Even though Herag tended to lecture a bit, Chatiya wasn't bothered at all; rather, she was very happy, pressing her face against Herag's neck, and giggled, "I know~"

Judging from her expression, Herag knew that although she heard him, she probably wouldn't follow through.

Herag had to ask, "Chatiya, do you want to be with me forever?"

"Of course! Chatiya wants to be with Lord Herag forever!" Chatiya exclaimed as she clung tightly to Herag.

Even after so many years had passed, Chatiya still liked to address Herag this way.

And she often wore a maid outfit, accompanying Herag.

Herag said, "But can your current lifespan be described as eternal?"

"This…" Chatiya tilted her head and thought, as if realizing something.

Herag was now a Level 8 Dominator, with an infinite lifespan, able to live as long as the world existed.

But Chatiya was only at a Level 3 Life, and although she had the long lifespan of a Royal Elf, it was still not impressive in front of Herag.

Chatiya's lifespan was but a negligible fragment in Herag's realm of infinite life.

The huge disparity in their lifespans dictated that their lives would only intersect for a part of it and not be together forever.

Realizing this alarming fact, tears immediately formed in Chatiya's eyes, and a tear slid down.
