Chapter 579: X-Aces vs The Demon Lord (Part 6)
A sharp clang rang out as our blades collided, before Vaz drove his tail towards my stomach, his eyes widening as the end of his tail disappeared upon coming into contact with the energy of Ravage.
He quickly pulled his tail back and began to spring back, before I swiftly and briefly manifested Void, pulling him off-balance before deactivating it and lunging forward.
He twisted his body across, before the energy swirling around me ate right through the right side of his body, blood spraying out before he suddenly unleashed a burst of Negative Energy, tensing as the energy around me consumed the part of the attack shooting towards me, before I leapt straight towards him.
He shuffled back before unfurling a rapid thrust of both his weapons towards my chest.
I narrowly blocked the thrust of his spear with my blade, before gasping in pain as his staff slammed against the right side of my chest, caving in my ribcage with a sharp crunch, before he lunged forward as I stumbled back and slashed across at the left side of my head with his spear.
I narrowly blocked the slash with my blade, before driving my foot out as he simultaneously drove his staff towards my solar plexus.
My foot ate right through his stomach as his staff collided against the middle of my torso, knocking the wind out of me and sending me hurtling back.
My shoulder hit the ground with a jarring impact, before I skidded painfully several meters back, coming to a sliding halt across the ground, my back thudding against a pillar.
Sh-Shit...!
The black and white energy swirling around me then faded away as I used up the last bit of my Mana, my vision blurring as beads of sweat poured down my face.
I shakily began to try and get back onto my feet, before I let out an agonized yell of pain as Vaszel flew up and swooped down towards me, his feet slamming onto my stomach and rupturing several organs upon impact, blood gushing out of my mouth as he crushed my stomach.
"This time, it’s over. You have no Mana left. I barely have any left myself, I cannot use any of my Skills...however, I still have some energy left, unlike you. I commend your effort, Kaivel Intrix...to think I would have to expend so much effort in this battle. But it’s over now," He remarked, before adding as he raised his spear, "Do you have any last words, human?"
"Y-Yeah, I suppose I do...," I nodded shakily, taking a deep breath, wincing sharply in pain, before meeting his gaze with a smirk as I focused my intent, "You lose."
"
"Wh-Wha...?!" Blurted out Vaszel, letting out an agonized wheeze as Acedia jolted his soul, his entire body seizing up sharply.
And next...!
"
H-Huh? No, that’s-...!
Yes!
Vaszel shakily stumbled off my stomach, which rapidly healed up as Desecrator got wrenched out of his leg...but it’s fine, I replenished just enough Mana to make this work!
"
His body began to struggle, but it was too late, as he rapidly got pulled into the dark mass of gravity, disappearing into it in a matter of seconds, until all that was left was the black and red wisp of his soul.
Without Mana, he can’t regenerate, and without Immortality, there’s nothing protecting his Soul.
"
I expanded the white jaws of energy around his soul, the jaws snapping shut with no resistance this time, before a strange sensation overcame me as I consumed his soul.
The sensation grew stronger and stronger, overwhelming me, before everything went white...

What the...? What just-...?
"So...it appears that I’ve lost, after all. How strange...I do not feel as frustrated as I would have imagined."
"You-...how? What is this?" I frowned, as Vaszel entered my line of sight.
Where the hell is this? It’s like a dark void we’re both floating in, I can’t tell where it begins or where it ends.
"No need to panic, human...you have won. My soul will fade and cease to exist before much longer. Though, I do not know why our consciousnesses have appeared before each other in this manner," He responded, before taking a seat, looking down at himself as his feet began to turn translucent, slowly but surely fading away.
"Huh. Hope I’m not stuck in this place," I muttered, glancing around warily.
It is a bit concerning that Ai isn’t here, but somehow, I can tell, I’m only going to be stuck here for a short while. It already feels like I’m steadily getting pulled out of this place.
"What a waste...the rage, vengeance and anger I harbored for so many centuries, everything I did in my quest to quell those emotions, only for it to end like this.
I wonder, where did I go wrong? I never once doubted my victory, I had no reason to...and now, here I am, killed in this world for the second time," Vaszel laughed in amusement.
"Where you went wrong, huh? Maybe when you decided to target this world, even though the people who wronged you are, presumably, long dead," I responded dryly.
"Yes, logically, I understood that...but it was not that simple, I just could not bring myself to accept it. I suppose...I just needed a target for my revenge."
