Chapter 358 - True Dragon Godly Medicine
Chapter 358 - True Dragon Godly Medicine
The Myriad Dragon Lair was vast, filled with countless dragon caves. Dragon power surged like a storm, divine light flashed everywhere, and ancient coffins floated in the air, primordials were awakening.
Ye Fan felt a chill from head to toe. A tremendous sense of danger gripped him, it was as if a true dragon had locked eyes on him, ready to shatter his bones and flesh.
He immediately summoned the Jade Altar and lunged forward, forming a giant hand of divine energy to uproot the Primordial Godly Medicine and escape.
But to his shock, the sacred herb’s roots were unimaginably tough, it wouldn’t budge.
Ye Fan’s face changed. Divine medicine was priceless, but life was more precious. He wasn’t about to throw his away for this.
A sharp, piercing scream erupted from deep within the Myriad Dragon Lair. It was so shrill and dreadful that it made one’s soul tremble. Even from afar, Tu Fei and Pang Bo felt their hair stand on end.
As for Ye Fan, his scalp went numb. A flood of killing intent surged like a tidal wave, as though it could crush the world itself.
If not for the Motherly Energy Cauldron, that sheer killing intent alone would have pierced through him. It was unimaginable, what kind of being could possess such terrifying might?
With a hurried glance, he saw an ancient coffin still floating among Godsources. The massive two-meter-long Godsource block, within which a humanoid figure was sealed, had not yet broken open.
He realized what he saw was only a corner of the Myriad Dragon Lair. The horrifying scream came from elsewhere, there were definitely more primordials here.
Gritting his teeth, Ye Fan darted toward the divine medicine and reached out again.
He had discovered that his manifested divine hand couldn’t affect this sacred plant, it absorbed godpower effortlessly.
Suddenly, the entire plant trembled. Golden light burst forth from it, and the fruit it bore began to wriggle as if alive.
Ye Fan’s eyes widened, the Primordial Godly Medicine was astonishing. The golden fruit was shaped like a miniature dragon, alive and struggling, its mouth clamping down on a Dragon Pearl that shone with crystalline brilliance.
Its fragrance was intoxicating, utterly irresistible. Even Ye Fan, with his iron will, almost lost himself.
He quickly shifted aside and guided the pearl with a sweep of his hand, diverting its deadly power. The Dragon Pearl’s force was so immense it could pierce human flesh like paper.
With precise control, he drew an arc of dao force, fixing the pearl mid-air. He then whipped out a small white jade cauldron, uncovered its lid, and sealed the Dragon Pearl inside.
Clack!
As the lid snapped shut, Ye Fan let out a long breath. Divine medicines must be sealed within flawless jade containers, otherwise, they would evaporate into nothingness.
But in that fleeting instant of delay, the dreadful sound surged closer, it was only miles away, rushing toward him.
Ye Fan acted fast, reaching again for the divine plant, but then, to his astonishment, the dragon power surged up like living currents, and the Primordial Godly Medicine transformed into golden light and burrowed underground!
A dragon’s roar split the air.
Ye Fan’s fingertips brushed the golden fruit just as it vanished, it coughed out nine golden drops of liquid that shimmered briefly before disappearing completely.
“Damn it!” Ye Fan cursed under his breath. “It can move!”
The divine plant had fled right after expelling the Dragon Pearl, it was beyond anything he’d expected.
In a flash, he summoned a small jade vial and collected those nine golden drops before they could hit the ground.
Then he struck the earth with his palm, rocks exploded, and divine radiance burst skyward like a blinding sun.
Sure enough, beneath the ground lay a piece of Godsource, the size of a faceplate, shining brighter than the sun itself. No wonder the divine medicine had moved, it was absorbing its essence.
“Ye Fan, run!” Pang Bo shouted.
“The big one’s coming out!” barked the Black Emperor (the big black dog).
“It’s less than five hundred meters from you!” cried Tu Fei.
Ye Fan didn’t need the warning, he could feel it. A monstrous wave of killing intent was flooding the Myriad Dragon Lair, enough to make his whole body tremble. Even the Motherly Energy Cauldron above him shook.
He swept his sleeve, stowed away the Godsource, and leapt onto the Jade Altar, traversing through the void.
Crack!
The platform left behind shattered instantly, crushed into dust by an invisible force of killing will.
Boom!
Miles away, Ye Fan fell out of the void, barely surviving only because he had hidden himself within the cauldron at the last moment.
“Go!”
Ahead, Pang Bo, Tu Fei, and the Black Emperor were waiting with another jade platform ready.
Ye Fan darted forward using the Madman’s Steps, landing on the dark jade platform. The Black Emperor activated the formation, triggering the teleportation glyphs.
As the void gate opened, Ye Fan turned back, and what he saw made his heart pound.
From miles away, a terrifying creature shot toward him, surrounded by divine rings like a god. It had purple hair, covering half its face, and eyes like sharpened blades.
It had no arms, only a pair of golden wings, gleaming like divine metal. Its lower body was serpentine, black-scaled, over ten meters long. It streaked through the air like lightning.
Ye Fan sealed his companions into the cauldron, and as the void closed, they vanished.
Behind them, the primordial let out a roar and exhaled a blast of godpower.
Boom! The Jade Altar shattered instantly.
Moments later, the Motherly Energy Cauldron fell from the sky. They landed hard but were unharmed.
There they saw again, the Ice Palace, floating amid surging dragon power, and within it, a peerless beauty sleeping peacefully.
“Did she just twitch?” the Black Emperor yelped, backing away fast.
“She’s been dead seventy or eighty thousand years, it’s impossible. Move!” Tu Fei barked.
A roar shook the abyss, the primordial was almost upon them.
“Unbelievable! He’s already here, his speed’s insane! Nearly as fast as us crossing the void!”
A flash of light, and they vanished again. This time, they emerged at the exit of the underground palace, but the ancient sacred formation blocked their path, they couldn’t escape yet.
They quickly found the original passage, burst to the surface, and began another void jump across four thousand miles before stopping.
“The Royal Primordials are terrifying!” Pang Bo gasped, sitting in the snow.
“That wasn’t even a true Royal,” said the Black Emperor. “If a real one awakened, corpses would fill mountains and rivers of blood would flow.”
“Damn dog, you’re the one who talked Ye Fan into picking the divine medicine!” Tu Fei snapped.
“The true Royals never wake,” the dog argued. “Only their guardians do. And besides, we made it out alive, didn’t we?”
Ye Fan still felt uneasy. If even a guardian was that powerful, what would the beings in those ancient coffins and Godsources be like?
Though he regretted not harvesting the full plant, his gains were still enormous.
Ye Fan took out the white jade cauldron and jade vial, even tightly sealed, their fragrance filled the air. Then he produced the Godsource, which burst with dazzling radiance, illuminating the icy plains.
“Our harvest is incredible!”
Pang Bo and Tu Fei were stunned, and the Black Emperor nearly drooled.
“Don’t even think about it, mutt,” Tu Fei warned. “This is for breaking Ye Fan’s curse. Try stealing it, and we’ll roast you into dog meat.”
“Come on, am I that kind of dog?”
“You are exactly that kind,” Tu Fei snorted.
They examined the treasures in awe, the Dragon Pearl glowed with crystalline brilliance, its fragrance intoxicating, while the nine golden drops shimmered like miniature dragons.
“No wonder it’s called a Godly Medicine, its value is beyond measure.”
“The fruit was shaped like a dragon holding a pearl. Incredible.”
Even they couldn’t guess its true worth, but it was certainly beyond the damaged divine plant found in the Celestial City, it was a complete pearl-fruit.
“Too bad we couldn’t pluck the full fruit,” said Tu Fei. “Sacred Lords would have killed for it.”
“This is probably the only divine medicine that could ever be harvested.”
The Black Emperor stared hungrily, but Tu Fei kept him back. “No way. You’d probably swallow it whole.”
Eventually, Ye Fan let him take a closer look. The dog drooled so much it melted the snow around him, and Tu Fei had to hold him down.
“Primordial Godly Medicines are rarer than anything,” the Black Emperor muttered. “Each one represents the fate of a supreme being. To those who need it, it’s more precious than a supreme weapon.”
“The nine drops of dragon liquid, it’s not just sap. That’s dragon essence blood, pure life force.”
“If someone could keep one alive and nurture it forever, it’d be more valuable than any weapon under heaven.”
The dog’s saliva sizzled in the snow. If Tu Fei hadn’t restrained him, he’d have lunged at it already.
Ye Fan’s eyes gleamed, raising a divine medicine for himself… the benefits would be unimaginable.
But he knew it was almost impossible, even the great holy lands had failed. No one had ever found the immortal root needed to sustain one.
“When my Primeval Desolate Sacred Physique reaches completion,” Ye Fan said, “I’ll return and replant that divine medicine by my side.”
“If a Grand Perfection Primeval Desolate Sacred Physique lives for ten thousand years,” Pang Bo said, laughing, “and you keep a divine medicine too, the holy lands will weep and curse your name daily.”
“Raising a divine medicine means holding another life,” said the Black Emperor, drooling again. “A perfected Primeval Desolate Sacred Physique with that, he could rival emperors.”
“In ancient times, sages created their own particle worlds,” Pang Bo added. “That’s where a divine medicine truly belongs.”
Suddenly, Pang Bo froze, eyes narrowing toward the horizon. “Someone’s coming.”
A dozen women flew in, graceful and ethereal, dressed in violet robes that fluttered through the snow like celestial beings.
“The Saintess of Purple Mansion is entering the ice plains?”
“Yes, that’s the Purple Mansion Sacred Ground.”
Tu Fei burst out laughing. “Brothers, what are we waiting for? Today, we’re hunting the Saintess of Purple Mansion!”
“My dream’s coming true,” howled the Black Emperor. “A saint or saintess as my pet!”
If anyone had overheard them, they would have been utterly speechless. These four, together, were absolute trouble.
