Chapter 272 - An Unconventional Battle
Chapter 272 - An Unconventional Battle
Qin Yao’s figure could be called “heart-stopping,” her graceful body perfectly contoured, like a fairy carefully carved by heaven itself. She walked lightly, like willows swaying in the breeze, a thousand charms in one.
Her smile was bewitching, hair glossy black, skin white as jade, smooth and delicate, eyes alluring, and her bright red lips were very sensual, enough to topple all living beings.
But Ye Fan felt things were going badly. He sensed killing intent and hurried to explain, “Don’t listen to his nonsense, he’s a big mouth!”
Tu Fei, chased in a sorry state by the big black dog, had already run far away, yet he still argued from a distance, “You clearly said it yourself.”
Ye Fan snapped, “Big-Mouth Tu, you really need a beating, serves you right to be chased and bitten by a dog!”
“How do I deserve a beating? Everything I said is true,” Tu Fei retorted.
“Damn it, kid, are you insulting me? What do you mean, chased and bitten by a dog?” the big black dog fumed.
“I have nothing to say to you two!” Ye Fan turned angrily, then awkwardly spoke to Qin Yao, “He’s unreliable, talks big. You can ignore him.”
Qin Yao’s gauzy skirt trailed the floor, unable to hide her proud figure. She walked over lightly, placed a jade hand on his shoulder, and parted her red lips, “What ‘sparring’ did you talk about?!”
Her tone was relatively gentle, her pretty face seemed about to drip water, and her eyes were captivating, yet beneath the calm one could feel a storm brewing.
“There’s nothing to it. That guy made it up out of thin air.”
“For no reason, why would he talk nonsense?!” Qin Yao was already grinding her teeth, her lotus-white arm tightening as her delicate fingers clamped his shoulder.
…
In the distance, Tu Fei had leapt into the sky. The big black dog stepped onto a jade boat, relentlessly pursuing.
Suddenly the man and dog stopped, hearing a loud noise from behind. That mountain shook; Ye Fan shot into the sky, fleeing quickly. Qin Yao’s black hair flew, her white clothes fluttered as she pursued closely.
“What’s wrong with Little Ye? Why are you running?” Tu Fei asked.
“Because of you, what else!” Ye Fan wanted to slap him, forced down the urge, and said, “Move, let’s get out of this particle world now.”
With that, he turned into a wisp of afterimage, lightning-fast toward the exit of this particle world. Behind him, Qin Yao’s beautiful eyes flashed like lightning, sharp, following like a shadow.
“Wait up, don’t run so fast,” Tu Fei called.
“This kid must have stirred up big trouble. I’ve never seen him flee so miserably,” the big black dog concluded.
The old madman’s footwork was unmatched, rivaling the Leviathan’s speed. Ye Fan pushed it to the limit and soon reached the exit of the particle world.
Unfortunately, the Demon Race there wouldn’t let him pass, blocking him as if guarding against a thief. They didn’t strike, but they refused to let him leave.
“Sister Qin Yao, what happened?” Not far away, a golden shadow flitted over. The demon girl Jin Yan, in a golden feathered dress, fluttered over like a butterfly.
“Nothing,” Qin Yao answered calmly, clearly not wanting to make a scene.
“What did you do?” The demon girl was very hostile to Ye Fan.
Ye Fan didn’t want to tangle with her. “Nothing. I’ve been a guest here long enough and want to leave. Fairy Qin is seeing me off.”
“You’re really leaving?” Jin Yan couldn’t wait for him to go. Hearing this, she immediately called to those nearby, “Let him through already. We don’t keep idlers here.”
Qin Yao’s expression was serene. “No, he can’t go yet.”
“Why?” Jin Yan didn’t understand.
“I know why,” blabbered Tu Fei, arriving. “Fairy Qin and Little Ye ‘sparred’ and brought down the whole palace. She took a bit of a loss and wants to settle accounts.”
“Can you not talk? No one said you did not have to be mute!” Ye Fan wanted to strangle him.
At this moment, Qin Yao’s black hair danced, her face flushed scarlet. Her beautiful eyes widened with a desire to kill, her crystalline teeth clenched. She could barely stay calm.
Jin Yan didn’t believe it and scolded Tu Fei, “What nonsense! Sister Qin Yao has one foot already in the Four Pillars Realm. How could she not beat him?”
“I saw it with my own eyes. If you don’t believe me, go look. That palace is rubble. It even buried this dead dog under it, almost suffocated him,” Tu Fei said.
“Woof!” The big black dog lunged at him.
“How could that be? Sister Qin Yao, is it true? Would you lose to someone at Dao Palace Second Stage?” Jin Yan asked in disbelief.
“Of course. They fought all night, and in the end the Sacred Physique was reborn,” Tu Fei sensed the strangeness and kept babbling nonsense.
“Sister Qin Yao, face him again. I don’t believe you can’t beat him,” Jin Yan urged.
“Little Ye, be manly. Pity the fragrant and cherish the jade. At worst, lose one bout,” Tu Fei added supportively.
Ye Fan, “…”
Qin Yao’s face turned crimson; she almost lost it, her jade fingers whitening with the force of her grip.
“Why not let it go? Fairy Qin, be magnanimous. So you lost once, next time spar with Little Ye when there’s time. We really should be going,” Tu Fei tried to play peacemaker.
“No. You can’t leave yet!” Qin Yao snapped lightly.
“Right, you can’t go. Fight one more round first,” Jin Yan said, eager to see Ye Fan defeated.
Ye Fan spoke lowly, “Fairy Qin, let’s spar next time. I really should be leaving.”
“Spar next time… go to hell!” Qin Yao finally couldn’t stand it. Hearing the words “spar” inevitably brought the late night’s amorous scenes to mind.
Her delicate hand lifted, sending out a five-colored light curtain to shroud Ye Fan.
“What’s happening…” Tu Fei shouted.
“If you hadn’t spouted nonsense, would this be happening?!” Ye Fan shoved Tu Fei aside and shot into the sky.
Qin Yao was at Dao Palace Fifth Stage, powerful and with astonishing techniques. Ye Fan was only at Dao Palace Second Stage. If he didn’t go all out, he couldn’t block her at all, there was no suspense.
But he couldn’t face Qin Yao in a life-and-death fight, so he could only flee.
“Stop, don’t run!” Jin Yan cried.
Qin Yao said nothing, pursuing closely. Her long skirt floated like a fairy treading waves, stunning to behold.
“Fairy Qin, have the others withdraw. Let’s find a place for just the two of us to spar,” Ye Fan wanted to explain to her alone.
But in Qin Yao’s ears, those words meant something else. She ground her teeth. “Little thief, you take advantage and still act coy. Today I’ll skin you alive!”
“It’s a complete misunderstanding. I didn’t say anything. That big mouth guessed on his own and talked nonsense,” Ye Fan sent a voice transmission, not wanting the misunderstanding to deepen.
Jin Yan, radiant in her feathered dress, hesitated. “Sister Qin Yao, is there more to this?”
“No,” Qin Yao, graceful as a butterfly fairy, chased on.
“Little Ye, why don’t you go spar with Fairy Qin, let her vent, and then we’ll go,” Tu Fei transmitted from behind.
“Can you shut up already?!” Ye Fan couldn’t help cursing him, “I @#¥dsr%…”
“Little Ye, I’m doing this for your own good.”
Qin Yao trembled with anger, sped up her pursuit, and if she still couldn’t catch Ye Fan, she was going to take it out on Tu Fei.
In the end, Ye Fan disappeared deep in the particle world with absolute speed, shaking off those behind.
Half a day later, the big black dog used its spiritual nose to find him and brought Tu Fei along.
“Big-Mouth Tu, I want to pound you!” Ye Fan said darkly.
“This emperor can’t stand him either. Let’s just bury him alive,” the big black dog bared its teeth.
“Don’t be so angry. What heaven-offending thing did you do?” Tu Fei asked.
“There was nothing at first. It’s all because of your lies,” Ye Fan gritted out.
“What did I say?” Tu Fei thought for a moment, then yelped, “So it was the night’s fault? You two… my god, you beast!”
The two men and one dog moved in secret, trying to slip out. But the particle world’s exit was tightly guarded; they didn’t dare force it.
“They don’t seem intent on attacking us. I think you need to go to Qin Yao’s residence yourself and let her vent,” Tu Fei suggested.
This particle world was picturesque, mountains coiling like dragons, lakes like pearls, plants fresh, spiritual energy misty.
They landed on a peak, this was the cultivation place of the demon girl Jin Yan. They wanted to use her to leave this little heaven and earth.
“It’s you? Such nerve, daring to come here!” Jin Yan sneered.
“Little girl, don’t be so hot-tempered. Didn’t you want me gone early? The chance is right here, send me out,” Ye Fan said.
Jin Yan sneered, mocking, “A toad wanting to eat swan meat, and now you’ve failed you want to slink away?”
Ye Fan didn’t argue. “Since you don’t want me to stay, send me out.”
“I’ve changed my mind. Sister Qin Yao wants to deal with you. I think I should capture you and send you to her.”
Beams of golden light shot skyward toward distant peaks. She had sent word.
Soon, three streams of demonic aura rose from the graceful mountains in the distance, rushing over.
Bai Feng, feather fan and gauze scarf, clothes like snow, looking refined and otherworldly.
Jin Yu, in golden Dao robes, shining brilliantly, imposing, with eyes flashing like lightning.
Ku Zhu, in green robes, exuding natural air, fresh and simple.
“Brother Bai Feng, Brother Jin Yu, Brother Ku Zhu, seize this ‘waste body.’ He offended Sister Qin Yao,” Jin Yan said. “If you capture him and send him over, Sister Qin Yao will definitely be pleased.”
These three were Dao Palace Fifth Stage geniuses, ready at any time to advance into the Four Pillars Realm. For others, they likely wouldn’t act.
But Ye Fan was different, he had the Motherly Energy source root. Though they hadn’t shown it, they’d always been eyeing it.
Now, with an excuse to act, of course they wouldn’t remain aloof. And indeed they were moved by Qin Yao, two birds with one stone.
“Brother Ye, you’d better surrender, lest we hurt our friendship.”
“Rest assured, Brother Ye, we’ll mind our limits and not take your life.”
Their words carried no killing intent, but once fighting, it would be another matter. If struck, Ye Fan’s mind would be obliterated.
Tu Fei and the big black dog wanted to help, but Ye Fan turned and left. This was the Demon Race’s turf, if it turned into a real battle, they’d suffer.
“I’ll go find Qingyi!” Tu Fei said.
“No need, I’ll go find Qin Yao,” Ye Fan shook his head and flew straight toward Qin Yao’s cultivation abode.
Behind, Jin Yan, Bai Feng, Jin Yu, and Ku Zhu kept up the chase, killing intent filling the air and stirring the skies.
It was a beautiful place, full of rare flowers and spiritual herbs, bees and butterflies, a small stone arch bridge lying across, trickling streams winding about.
By then it was evening. The great fire pearl sank in the west, sunset reddening the peaks and making it even lovelier.
Qin Yao, alarmed, flew out like a fairy skimming the waves, figure proud. She looked at Ye Fan. “You dare come here…”
“That’s right, I want to talk to you,” Ye Fan walked straight in, entering the palace.
At that moment, Jin Yan and the others also landed, arriving there.
“You can all go back. It’s nothing serious, I’ll handle it,” Qin Yao said after glancing at them.
“Well… all right,” Bai Feng nodded. Ku Zhu and Jin Yu had nothing more to say.
Only Jin Yan was unwilling, but she couldn’t force her way in and left sullenly.
“Will they end up fighting?” Tu Fei muttered.
“It’s fine. That kid’s skin is thick, won’t die,” the big black dog said carelessly.
Before long, sounds of fierce fighting came from the palace and continued for a long time before stopping.
But Tu Fei, waiting outside, still didn’t see Ye Fan come out. He grew anxious. “Could it really have turned into a life-and-death struggle?”
Just then, Ye Fan’s voice transmission came, “You two go back first. I’ll find you when it’s time.”
“All right, we’ll wait for you at the particle world’s exit,” Tu Fei and the big black dog flew away.
But they waited and waited, and Ye Fan didn’t show.
“Damn it, why isn’t that kid back yet?” The Black Emperor was very displeased. Night had completely fallen, they clearly couldn’t leave today.
“You beast!” Tu Fei cursed as well.
They waited the whole night without seeing Ye Fan, until the next day when the great fire pearl rose slowly from the east.
“Could something have happened to him? This is the Demon Race’s territory, and he has the Motherly Energy source root, many want to take it,” the Black Emperor said.
“Go, let’s take a look,” Tu Fei also felt something was wrong.
When they reached Qin Yao’s residence again, they heard a thunderous crash as the palace collapsed in an instant. The unlucky big black dog had just rushed in and was buried alive.
“Damn it, I’m not drunk today, this is definitely not an earthquake!” the big black dog swore, struggling out of the ruins.
Tu Fei, dusty and disheveled, crawled out cursing nonstop.
At that moment, the great fireball had just risen. Ye Fan stood bathed in rosy light, shining brilliantly.
“Let’s go, we’re leaving now.”
This time they left the particle world smoothly. Even after they had gone far, Tu Fei was still cursing, “You beast…”
“Your mind is too dirty. Nothing happened, you’re imagining things,” Ye Fan rebuked.
“You beast, don’t come to the Jade Pool with me. I’m afraid you’ll cause trouble…”
“Big-Mouth Tu, stop slandering me!” Ye Fan scolded.
