Chapter 258 - Battling The Dragon Diagram
Chapter 258 - Battling The Dragon Diagram
“This damn dog is the most untrustworthy, always wanting something for nothing!” Ye Fan walked over.
“Kid, I haven’t even settled accounts with you yet, and you dare talk about closing the door and releasing the dog…” the big black dog bared its teeth.
“Behave yourself, don’t cause trouble…” Ye Fan secretly transmitted his voice. “Don’t forget why we came here!”
Boom.
Suddenly, not far away, demonic energy soared to the sky, golden light dazzling, the Leviathan Prince had awakened. With a long cry, he transformed into a golden leviathan several dozen meters long and soared into the sky.
“Brother Leviathan, don’t get agitated, your body is injured and needs rest.” Qingyi sent a voice transmission, afraid he would become furious and act rashly.
“This crazy birdman, how is his body so strong? Even with so many broken bones, he can still fly.” Tu Fei was shocked, raising his head to look at the sky.
At this moment, the Leviathan Prince’s seal had been undone. As a cultivator in the Four Pillars Realm, the aura he emitted was terrifying.
He was indeed severely injured; his body swayed and he almost fell. A flash of shadow later, he turned into human form again, his face gloomy as he swept his gaze below.
“Leviathan Prince, how do you feel? You should find a place to rest and heal your injuries.” A demon race cultivator spoke to persuade him.
The Leviathan Prince was tall and strong, strands of golden hair fluttering without wind. His eyes were razor-sharp, and he coldly stared at Ye Fan.
Then he extended his hand. The Desolate Halberd lying at the base of the cliff transformed into a streak of black light that shot into the sky, returning to his grasp.
Many people felt their hearts tighten. Qingyi spoke. “Leviathan Prince, what are you planning to do?”
The Leviathan Prince said nothing, only gave Ye Fan a glance before turning into a streak of golden light, rushing into the sky and disappearing in an instant.
Not long after, a little demon came to report that the Leviathan Prince had left this space.
The battle had finally ended. The demon cultivators gradually dispersed, and Ye Fan and Tu Fei returned to Qingyi’s residence.
“Although you defeated the Leviathan Prince, you shouldn’t stay here for long. Many will covet your cauldron.” Tu Fei said in a low voice.
Ye Fan knew well that after the matter with the Leviathan Prince, others might not make a move openly for now, but staying too long would inevitably be dangerous.
“I know.” He nodded. He had to resolve Pang Bo’s matter as quickly as possible.
Before long, Yan Ruyu appeared and came to Qingyi’s residence. She also hinted to Ye Fan that this place was unsafe for him.
“Princess Yan, I think you can guess why I’ve come.” Ye Fan said seriously. “I have only one request: to see Pang Bo. We’ve been apart for years, and I’ve never been able to meet him even once.”
“I’m afraid that’s not possible. He won’t leave seclusion for another three months, and he cannot be disturbed right now.” Yan Ruyu shook her head.
Ye Fan was startled. Time was too tight, three months later, the real Pang Bo might no longer exist in this world.
“You mean… the one inside the Ageless Chamber?” Qingyi’s expression changed.
Yan Ruyu nodded slightly without saying more.
“The Ageless Chamber… is that the ancient hall the Azure Flood Dragon Monarch obtained?” Tu Fei asked in surprise.
The people present seemed unwilling to talk about this topic. They only nodded, without offering any detailed explanation.
“Little brother Ye, if you wish to remain here, you can stay in my residence.” Yan Ruyu spoke, tucking her long hair behind her ear. Her flawless face seemed as delicate as could be.
Ye Fan understood, this was goodwill on her part, fearing that someone might plot against him and steal the Motherly Energy Source Root, so she invited him to her place.
“Couldn’t be better. Thank you, Fairy Yan, for your kindness.” Tu Fei answered on his behalf before Ye Fan could speak.
“Then I’ll trouble you, Princess Yan.” Ye Fan had no choice but to nod.
The big black dog seemed listless, but a glint flashed in its eyes, it had come for the ancient scripture, and entering the residence of a descendant of a great demon emperor was just what it wanted.
The particle worlds opened by ancient sages each had different characteristics: some were lifeless, others full of vitality; some were only a few meters across, while others stretched for hundreds of miles.
The particle world the Azure Flood Dragon Monarch had found was more than two hundred miles across, truly vast. After he took control, many demons naturally gathered here.
In truth, once demons take human form, they are not much different from humans, and even their lifestyles become similar.
This particle world had a demon city, not large in scale but still bustling. Trading of spirit herbs, rare ores, and weapon-forging materials took place mostly here.
Yan Ruyu’s cave dwelling was beautiful, set among graceful mountains about ten miles from the demon city. Silver waterfalls hung like silk, the vegetation was lush, and the scenery was stunning.
Every mountain peak had its own palaces, many of them unoccupied, so arranging places for them to stay was easy. There were little demons assigned to serve them.
Ye Fan chose a quiet place, at the mountaintop, pines framed the scenery, halls nestled in greenery, and a murmuring stream wound past before plunging off the cliff.
“What kind of place is the Ageless Chamber?” Once they were alone, Ye Fan asked Tu Fei.
“It’s an ancient hall left behind by a sage of old, obtained by the Azure Flood Dragon Monarch. Training inside it slows the passage of lifespan, it has the wondrous effect of not aging.”
“So magical?” Ye Fan was surprised, but also wary. Such a feature would be perfect for giving the other presence inside Pang Bo a chance to survive.
“The Ageless Chamber is indeed mysterious. The Azure Flood Dragon Monarch has been studying the complex dao runes on it, trying to learn the secret of agelessness.”
“This is a priceless treasure!” The big black dog’s eyes lit up. “If we copy the dao runes inside, they’ll be useful in the future.”
“Go cool off somewhere else!” Tu Fei still held a grudge about being bitten by the dog.
“Damn it, kid, show me some respect. One day you’ll come begging me for help.” The big black dog scowled.
Ye Fan quickly stopped them, or there would surely be another man-dog brawl.
“Where is the Ageless Chamber? Can you take me to see it?”
Tu Fei was startled. “Little Ye, what exactly are you planning? Don’t get any bad ideas, that’s the Azure Flood Dragon Monarch’s treasure. You’ll bring disaster.”
“Don’t worry, I won’t act recklessly.” Ye Fan smiled.
True to his big-mouthed nature, Tu Fei couldn’t keep quiet. He told Ye Fan where the Ageless Chamber was, pointing to the distant sky. “See those clouds? The Ageless Chamber floats above them.”
“An ancient hall that never falls…” Ye Fan was astonished.
“It never sinks. Very mysterious. It was left behind by a sage of ancient times.” Tu Fei couldn’t keep from talking.
After learning the details, Ye Fan stroked his chin but said nothing more.
“Little Ye, I’m warning you, don’t do anything rash!” Tu Fei cautioned.
This world, though created by an ancient sage, still had day and night. When a massive fire pearl, refined by artifice, sank down, night arrived.
Late at night, Ye Fan and the big black dog silently met up and flew high into the sky, watching the ancient hall on the clouds from afar.
It was a very ancient hall, already somewhat dilapidated. Around it floated many meteorites, strangely still.
“See anything?” Ye Fan asked quietly.
“Not good. I don’t know what’s inside the hall, but outside there are eighteen layers of restrictions, densely covered in dao runes.”
Ye Fan frowned. That wasn’t good news.
The big black dog continued, “Look at those floating meteorites on the clouds, they’re engraved with extremely powerful dao patterns. Only a Supreme Giant could break them.”
“So you’re saying we can’t get in?”
“Who am I? There’s no dao rune I can’t break!” The big black dog was proud.
“Yeah, right. Who was it that got trapped in the Cloud Severing Mountain Range for eighteen years, almost turning into black dirt?”
The big black dog’s expression instantly became sullen. “Don’t bring up those old, moldy matters.”
“You can really break those eighteen restrictions?” Ye Fan was doubtful. After the incident at the Ancient Jade Pool, he didn’t fully trust the dog.
“I’ve seen these restrictions before, and I know how to neutralize them. The only trouble is, I need certain materials.”
“What materials? What’s your plan?” Ye Fan asked.
“I need some rare materials to inscribe certain dao runes to crack these restrictions.” The big black dog listed a long string of material names.
“That’s difficult, where are we going to find them now?”
“If there are no materials, enough source stones will do.”
“How much source?”
“At least a few cubic units.” The big black dog spoke casually.
“One cubic unit is around 1,500 kilos. A few cubic units… easy for you to say!”
“Don’t you have two cubic units on you? Use them sparingly and it’ll be enough.”
“Damn dog, so this whole time you were eyeing my source stones?!”
In such an important place, they dared not act rashly. Without absolute certainty, they wouldn’t enter the Ageless Chamber.
Late at night, when Ye Fan returned to his room, he sensed someone inside.
“Who’s there?”
A silver-bell laugh sounded, a fragrant scent wafted over. A woman appeared, candlelight flickering, her familiar figure gliding toward him.
Her long skirt trailed on the ground, a pair of slender jade legs faintly visible. Her waist was round and slim, her bare arms pink and smooth, hair draped over her shoulders, her face alluring.
She was very seductive, her curves graceful, a devil’s figure paired with an angel’s face. Between her brows was a red mole that shimmered faintly.
“It’s you…” Ye Fan instantly recognized her, it was the enchantress Qin Yao.
Qin Yao smiled softly, her eyes like flowing water, full of charm. “Out so late, where did you go?”
“Taking a walk in the pines.”
“Lies. Little one, you came here with ill intentions.”
Ye Fan laughed loudly. “I came to fulfill my promise, to ‘slaughter without restraint.’”
“Little brat, what do you know?” Qin Yao, a true enchantress, gave him a sidelong glance, full of charm.
