Chapter 227 - Godsource Shell

Chapter 227 - Godsource Shell

The Primordial Mine has existed in the world since time immemorial. No one knows how many years it has endured.

Throughout history, heroes and prodigies have shone like bright lamps, illuminating the sky of ages past. Yet, none have ever sealed or destroyed the Primordial Mine. That fact alone speaks volumes.

It stands unchanged through the eras, watching generations of prodigies wither into dust. Only it remains eternal.

This ancient mine is a living existence. Few have ever truly seen it.

On the crimson land shimmering with soft moonlight, a beautiful and adorable child skipped playfully, delicate like carved jade. His flowing black hair drifted in the air, and his pure white wings flapped softly, like a little spirit dancing under the night moon.

The seven people were shocked and slowly backed away.

In any other place, this charming little child would surely win adoration. But here, none of them felt that way. Instead, they stood as if facing a deadly foe, ready for battle.

The little boy approached curiously, tilting his head to look at them, showing no signs of danger.

“Perhaps, we can kill it in one strike, reduce it to ashes!” said the Radiant Light Saint. Normally, his smile was bright and cheerful, but now it was filled with killing intent.

“Can you guarantee it’ll die in one blow? If not, we may provoke the big one,” said Old Blade solemnly.

The Radiant Light Saint didn’t respond. He silently sensed the air, suddenly glowing with divine light. “Something’s wrong… Something’s off!”

“It’s fake! That’s fake!” Li Desheng shouted in terror, voice low and trembling. His Lunar Sight flashed with eerie light, his face pale, stepping backward.

“What did you see?” Yao Xi asked.

“That’s not its true form. It’s formed from death energy. I saw a giant being, it’s no child at all,” Li Desheng said, voice shaking.

“Attack!” Old Blade roared and hurled his pipe forward.

That seemingly ordinary smoking pipe suddenly expanded, turning into a giant funnel, glowing with firelight and swirling with smoke.

“ROAR!”

A piercing shriek erupted. The pink child instantly expanded to over five meters tall. His skin turned green and lizard-like, covered with lumps. His delicate white wings became bony, white spikes jutting out from behind. His messy gray hair flew wildly, more than two meters long, and his eyes glowed blood-red.

There was nothing cute left. This towering beast exuded menace from every pore. It was a monster through and through.

CLANG!

Its right arm blocked the giant smoking pipe, now over ten meters long, sending it flying with sparks scattering.

Unmatched strength!

With a deep roar, the creature pounced swiftly, like a gusting wind, fast and ferocious.

Everyone struck together. Leaving the Primordial Mine only to face such a monster meant they had to fight with all they had, or all would be lost.

Yao Xi, radiant and graceful, raised her fair hand, releasing a beam of moonlike light that formed a barrier, blocking the path of the monstrous creature.

BOOM!

But the creature was too strong. Its giant green hand smashed the barrier like crystal, scattering fragments in every direction.

Everyone’s expression changed. Yao Xi was incredibly powerful, as the Radiant Light Saintess, trained in ancient secret arts, already a Four Pillars Realm expert before the age of twenty. Few could match her.

Yet even she couldn’t block one blow. The shattered barrier sparkled like crystals in the air.

The creature's massive claw had fingernails several feet long, curved like hooks, glowing with chilling light as it slashed forward.

Chen Huaiyuan summoned the Azure Lotus Lamp. Green light spread, and as the lamp ignited, it shot out sword-like beams.

CLANG CLANG CLANG!

The sword beams struck the green hand, but only sparks flew, like striking divine metal. They didn’t cut through at all.

CRACK!

The claw slashed down, shattering the lotus lamp. It crumbled to dust in its massive hand. Then, the monster lunged like a ghost.

SPLAT!

Blood sprayed. It was too fast, before anyone could react, it tore open Chen Huaiyuan’s chest. His organs spilled out in a grisly mess.

CRUNCH!

Like a savage beast, it grabbed the corpse and shoved it into its mouth, biting off half a body in one gulp. Blood flowed down its chin. Bone-crunching sounds echoed, gruesome and sharp.

All of this happened in a flash. The others could only watch in horror, powerless to stop the tragedy.

This was a true demon, powerful, ruthless, merciless. To it, life meant nothing. Chen Huaiyuan was no more than food.

No one dared hold back now. Whether friend or rival, they had to fight together, or all would die.

HUM!

Ye Fan raised his Departing Fire God Furnace, only an inch tall at first, but it grew rapidly. Forged from some unknown crystal-like metal, it shone with a five-colored glow.

In a blink, the divine furnace swelled to over thirty meters tall and slammed down toward the beast like a falling mountain.

The green monster spread its bony wings and dodged the frontal assault. Then it swung its huge hand down.

BOOM!

A flash of green light erupted as its claw struck the furnace with a roar that echoed like a tsunami, nearly deafening.

The furnace, three stories tall, was knocked away like a broken ball. Its radiant glow dimmed. A huge dent caved in its side, as if someone had taken a bite out of it.

Ye Fan’s expression changed. He had used sacred combat arts and only left a palm mark on the furnace, yet now it was deformed by one blow.

Such power could crush anything, only the unique nature of the Departing Fire God Furnace kept it from shattering.

The beast swooped down with its wings, a towering presence like a falling green mountain, aiming at Ye Fan.

Ye Fan felt his blood boil, his body almost combusting with burning energy.

The creature overhead radiated heat and pressure like an inferno.

Ye Fan leapt sideways in a strange nine-step technique, shifting his posture and confusing time and space, narrowly avoiding death.

That thing was too strong. Even a cultivator of the fourth realm would struggle to survive, let alone him in the Dao Palace Realm.

BOOM!

The Radiant Light Saint attacked. Godlight erupted like sunlight itself, blinding and overwhelming.

ROAR!

The monster howled and staggered back, everyone was shocked.

“The Radiant Light Scripture deflects all magic, maybe it’s its weakness!” shouted Old Blade.

Indeed, the creature hesitated, clearly wary of the holy light.

The Radiant Light Saint burned like a sun god, stepping through the void, striking down.

BOOM!

Despite his usual warmth, his attack was fierce, like a divine furnace exploding. His golden fist enveloped the monster below in blinding brilliance.

The demon howled lowly. Though affected by the light, it wasn’t fully repelled. It struck back with glowing claws and flapping wings.

The Radiant Light Saint’s golden hand clashed head-on with the monster’s green one, three times.

Godlight consumed the sky, eclipsing the moon and stars. Around the Radiant Light Saint, the world turned to eternal light.

“He’s unbelievably strong... They say he rivals a God King in potential, and I believe it now,” Old Blade said, shocked.

Even Ye Fan was stunned. The Radiant Light Saint had likely entered the Fourth Realm of cultivation but still, his strength was astonishing.

Now, the Radiant Light Saint unleashed godlike power, glowing like the sun, rivaling divinity itself.

BOOM BOOM...

The demon fought back, but the Radiant Light Saint held his ground, his divine aura dominating the heavens.

Behind him, a radiant disc shone like a divine halo, real and powerful.

“Maybe one day he’ll suppress God Kings with a mortal body,” whispered Old Blade.

Yao Xi smiled faintly. “Let’s all join in and end this.”

The Jade Pool Saintess agreed. “The sooner we finish this, the better.”

The Radiant Light Saint’s strength had stirred mixed feelings in everyone.

As the group charged together, the monster expanded dramatically, now 30 meters tall, its bone wings stirring great winds.

At the same time, space twisted. Everyone felt bound in the air, unable to move.

“This… This is the True Demon Domain!” shouted Old Blade, struggling.

“The Primordial True Demon Domain!” cried the Saintess. She too moved with difficulty.

Even the radiant Radiant Light Saint felt it, each step requiring bursts of divine light, draining his power.

Li Desheng couldn’t move at all, frozen in place.

Hovering above, the 30-meter demon extended a huge hand.

This domain even affected itself, its movements slowed, but it was still faster than the others.

If this continued, the group would be slaughtered one by one!

“Why’s it targeting me?!” Ye Fan cursed, as the beast reached for him.

But he stayed calm. The domain had no effect on him. His Oceanic Wheel and Dao Palace emitted a strange power, dissolving its influence.

Ye Fan instantly realized, True Demon Domain was a form of Celestial Phenomenon, and his Sacred Physique naturally countered such powers.

Even the Ji Clan’s God Physique couldn’t suppress him, how could this?

Though terrifying, the domain still fell within that category, and it couldn’t restrain him.

Ye Fan moved like lightning, stunning the others. He was completely unaffected, unbelievable.

He summoned the Departing Fire Furnace, expanded it to over a hundred meters.

BANG!

The lid flew open. The furnace grew again, flames soaring as it engulfed the monster.

Everyone was stunned. This was the True Demon Domain, far more than a simple phenomenon, and it had paralyzed them. Yet Ye Fan not only resisted it, he unleashed godpower and summoned his treasure.

The flames roared, surrounding the monster, though they couldn’t burn it down, only inflict pain.

“It’s bound by its own domain, it can’t withdraw it at will,” warned Old Blade.

Ye Fan focused, he had to finish it now, or they’d all die.

WHOOM!

The furnace trembled. Its opening emitted devouring power!

But it couldn’t absorb the creature, too strong. So Ye Fan flipped it over and covered the monster instead.

The beast howled in rage but couldn’t move fast enough. The furnace trapped it.

Truly caught in its own snare.

The furnace spun upright.

CLANG!

The lid slammed shut, sealing the beast inside.

Instantly, the domain collapsed. Everyone regained their freedom.

They were all stunned. That deformed furnace had sealed even the True Demon Domain?

“You’re full of surprises, fellow Daoist. Not even the domain could bind you, amazing!” Li Desheng exclaimed.

“If not for your treasure, we’d all be dead,” said Old Blade.

BANG BANG

The beast raged inside the furnace, denting its sides with handprints, like it would break free any moment.

The Radiant Light Saint descended like an immortal king, standing atop the furnace, pouring divine light into it, beginning the purification.

Roars of despair and howls of pain echoed from within.

The furnace warped under the pressure, bent and dented, but did not break.

Time passed. The distorted furnace held firm.

Everyone stared, this broken furnace was too damn tough!
