Chapter 228 Sharing
Chapter 228 Sharing
Shadow Falcon ignored him and carried the plate into the house.
There were two other people in the room: one was sitting at the table wiping a knife, and the other was leaning against the window reading a letter.
The one wiping the knife is called Zhao Wu, and the one reading the letter is called A Qi. They are both shadow guards who usually run errands for Feng Xi.
When the two saw Shadow Falcon bring in the plates, they both stopped what they were doing.
"Osmanthus cake?" Zhao Wu put down his knife, stood up, and approached the table.
Ah Qi folded the letter, stuffed it into his sleeve, and walked over, looking down at the cakes on the plate.
"Where did it come from?"
Shadow Falcon placed the plate on the table. "A gift from the Prince."
As soon as he finished speaking, all three of them lit up.
Feng Xi couldn't wait and was the first to reach out, grab a piece, and stuff it into his mouth.
He chewed it, and his expression changed instantly.
His eyebrows furrowed and the corners of his mouth turned down.
He stopped moving, looking at the half-eaten cake in his hand, then at the Shadow Falcon, his lips moved as if he wanted to say something.
Zhao Wu also took a piece and took a big bite.
The next moment, the movement stopped.
The cake was stuck in my mouth, and I couldn't swallow it or spit it out.
Ah Qi was the most astute. Seeing the expressions on the faces of the two people in front of him, he only broke off a small piece and put it in his mouth to savor it.
Then his brow furrowed into a knot.
The three people stood by the table, each holding a osmanthus cake, their faces showing expressions as if they had swallowed a fly.
Feng Xi was about to spit out the cake.
"The prince and the future princess made it together," Shadow Falcon said slowly.
As soon as he finished speaking, Feng Xi stopped his vomiting motion.
His eyes widened even more, moving from the shadow falcon's face to his hand, and then back to the shadow falcon's face.
His Adam's apple bobbed, and he forced himself to swallow the cake in his mouth.
Seeing this, Zhao Wu also swallowed, stretching his neck out as he did so, as if he were swallowing a stone.
Ah Qi was the smartest; he only broke off a small piece and swallowed it.
The three of them stood by the table, each holding the remaining osmanthus cake in their hands, and none of them spoke.
Feng Xi looked down at the half-eaten cake in her hand, took a deep breath, and mentally prepared herself before taking a bite.
I chewed it twice and swallowed it.
His face was expressionless, but his eyebrows kept twitching.
Zhao Wu simply stuffed the whole cake into his mouth, thinking that a short pain was better than a long one.
Its cheeks puffed out like a hamster's, and it chewed several times before swallowing.
He swallowed and took a deep breath, as if he had just completed a difficult task.
Ah Qi had already finished the small piece in his hand.
Standing to the side, his gaze fell on the remaining cakes on the plate.
The expression is complex.
"Is it good?" Shadow Falcon asked deliberately, raising an eyebrow.
The three nodded simultaneously, so quickly and in unison that an outsider might have thought someone was pressing their heads down from behind.
Shadow Falcon felt better now and turned to leave.
As I reached the door, I heard Feng Xi's voice behind me.
It was as if they were whispering to each other.
Do you have any water left?
"No, didn't you just finish drinking?"
"That was me—"
Inside the duty room.
Feng Xi lay face down on the table.
"Shadow Falcon said..." he said sullenly, "that it was done by the Prince and the future Princess together."
Zhao Wu opened his eyes and looked at the ceiling. "Hmm."
Ah Qi turned around and looked at the plate of osmanthus cake on the table.
There was still more than half a plate of cake left.
Suddenly, footsteps came from outside the door, and two people walked in one after the other.
The one in front is called Liu Quan, and he's carrying a knife.
The one behind him is called Sun Shang, and he has a short sword at his waist.
The two had just returned from outside, their faces still flushed from the sun.
As soon as Liu Quan entered the room, his eyes lit up when he saw the osmanthus cake on the table.
"Oh, where did these snacks come from?"
He leaned the knife against the wall, walked to the table, and looked down at the cakes. "Osmanthus cake? Who made it?"
Feng Xi lifted her head from her arm, glanced at Liu Quan, then at Zhao Wu, and then at A Qi.
Zhao Wu opened his eyes and looked at Feng Xi, his lips twitching slightly.
Ah Qi's gaze fell on Liu Quan, then shifted to Sun Shang.
The corners of his mouth couldn't help but turn up in a smile.
The three people stared at each other for a moment, but Liu Quan didn't notice at all.
"It was a gift from the Prince," Feng Xi said.
His voice sounded muffled, as if something was stuck in his throat.
Upon hearing this, Liu Quan's eyes lit up, and he reached out to grab the cake.
Sun Shang also came over; he was more astute than Liu Quan.
He glanced at Feng Xi's face first, then at Zhao Wu's face, and finally at A Qi's face.
The three of them were as normal as ever, and nothing seemed amiss.
Sun Shang hesitated for a moment, but still took one.
They even asked, "Is it good?"
"It's delicious," Feng Xi said.
He spoke so fast that Sun Shang found it strange and couldn't help but glance at him.
Feng Xi coughed and cleared his throat.
"It's delicious, you should try it." This time the voice was much steadyer.
Zhao Wu nodded in agreement from the side.
"Mmm, delicious."
As he spoke, he reached into the plate, took another piece, took a bite, chewed it twice, and swallowed it.
His expression showed a hint of enjoyment.
Ah Qi also took a piece, "How could something given by the Prince not be delicious?"
Seeing this, Liu Quan couldn't wait to take a bite.
However, after only a couple of chews, his eyes widened in disbelief as he stared at the remaining half of the cake in his hand.
Then he looked at Feng Xi and the other two.
Three faces, three expressions.
Feng Xi: "You know what I mean."
Zhao Wu: "I can't help it."
Ah Qi: "Just bear with it."
Liu Quan's Adam's apple bobbed, and he forced himself to swallow the cake in his mouth.
His face scrunched up for a moment, then quickly relaxed.
Sun Shang didn't bite it; he broke off a small piece, put it in his mouth, and smacked it.
Then his brows furrowed and his face stiffened.
He looked at the remaining piece of cake in his hand, then at Feng Xi.
"How was it?" Feng Xi asked with a hint of schadenfreude.
Liu Quan opened his mouth as if to say something, but then stopped.
He would say it's not tasty, extremely unpalatable, terribly unpalatable.
However, he suddenly remembered that Feng Xi had just said it was a gift from the prince.
It was a gift from the prince.
His mouth closed, he swallowed, and his neck stretched out long as he swallowed.
She managed to answer, "It's delicious."
Looking at Liu Quan's expression and then at the cake in his hand, Sun Shang could only take another bite.
Zhao Wu took another piece from the plate and deliberately handed it to Liu Quan.
"One more piece, please."
Liu Quan looked at the cake as if it were poison.
His face was scrunched up, as if he were testing for poison.
Sun Shang was a little better than him, but not by much.
His brows were furrowed into a tight knot, and his Adam's apple bobbed up and down.
Feng Xi's lips twitched as she looked at their expressions.
Zhao Wu also suppressed a laugh.
Ah Qi was the most unkind; he was the first to laugh out loud.
"Pfft—hahahahahahahahahaha."
Liu Quan raised his head and glared at A Qi, still with the osmanthus cake in his mouth.
With his cheeks puffed out, his glaring expression had no intimidating power whatsoever.
Feng Xi couldn't hold back any longer, and her shoulders began to tremble.
Laughter squeezed out of his throat, then grew louder and louder until he collapsed onto the table, shaking with laughter.
Zhao Wu was a bit more composed than him, but only for a moment before a smirk appeared on his lips.
The laughter was unstoppable, bursting from his chest, making the plates on the table tremble slightly.
Liu Quan looked at the three people who were laughing so hard they were practically falling over.
The expression on his face changed from pain to anger, and from anger to helplessness.
Sun Shang brushed the crumbs off the cake in his hand, clapped his hands, stood up, and picked up the plate of osmanthus cake from the table.
Liu Quan glanced at him and stood up as well.
Feng Xi lifted her head from her arm and stared at Sun Shang carrying the plate toward the door, then paused for a moment.
Where are you going?
Sun Shang did not turn around.
"Take some and let the brothers have a taste. Good stuff shouldn't be enjoyed by just a few of us."
The words "good stuff" were emphasized.
