Chapter 168 Ghosts
Chapter 168 Ghosts
After saying that, he released her wrist and turned to look at the bed sheet.
He asked, "How do I change it?"
Su Wuli didn't react.
Yu Chen turned to look at her, "Teach me."
Before she could even speak, he had already walked over.
The next moment, she was lifted up by the man's long arms.
He carried her a few steps and put her down on the sofa.
The sofa was soft, and she sank into it immediately. Yu Chen put a cushion behind her back.
"Sit down."
Su Wuli sat on the sofa watching him, but he had already walked back to the bedside and turned back to look at her.
"How do I change it?" he asked again.
She paused slightly before speaking, "First, pull off the elastic bands at the four corners of the sheet."
He looked down at the four corners of the bed sheet, then bent down and leaned closer.
After noticing a thin elastic band hidden inside the fabric at the four corners, he reached out and tugged at it.
It wouldn't budge, so I pulled it again, but it still wouldn't budge.
His brows furrowed.
Su Wuli sat on the sofa, looking at his expression, and couldn't help but remind him.
"You need to reach in and turn it over."
Yu Chen turned and glanced at her, then lowered his head and did as she said.
Reach your finger into that corner, feel the elastic band, and flip it out; the corner of the sheet bounces off the mattress.
He was clearly taken aback for a moment.
Su Wuli almost burst out laughing at his expression.
After that, I became much more proficient.
After all the sheets were torn off, they were piled loosely on the bed.
He stood there staring at the sheets, his brow furrowed, then turned to look at her. "And then?"
She pointed to the bed sheet, "Grab that side and pull it out..."
He went around to the other side of the bed, grabbed the sheet, and pulled it outwards.
However, because they pulled too hard, the entire sheet was pulled up.
The pillow was pulled to the ground, the blanket was askew, and the sheets were piled up in his hands.
Yu Chen looked down at the pile of sheets, his brows furrowing even more.
She finally couldn't help but laugh out loud.
Upon hearing this, Yu Chen looked up at her, a hint of helplessness flashing in his eyes.
Meeting his gaze, she quickly suppressed her laughter and said, "Just put it on the ground."
He placed the wad of sheets on the floor, looked at her, and asked, "Where's the new one?"
Su Wuli smiled and pointed to the wardrobe.
He walked over, opened the cabinet door, and took out the new bed sheets.
He held both sides with his hands and looked left and right, unable to tell which side was the head and which side was the tail.
He turned in one direction, but it was still wrong, so he turned in another direction.
Su Wuli watched him pacing back and forth, and the corners of her mouth, which she had just suppressed, couldn't help but curve up again.
"The side that grows is facing the head of the bed..." she began to remind him.
As soon as he finished speaking, he looked down and finally found his way.
Then the quilt was packed away.
Yu Chen stood by the bed, looking down at the neatly made bed sheet, then he turned to look at her.
Su Wuli seemed to see him secretly breathe a sigh of relief.
He then said, "That's it."
"Mmm," she replied softly.
Their gaze shifted from his face to him.
Although the outer robe covered the marks, she didn't have any clothes for him to change into in her apartment.
I still felt a little apologetic. "Your pants..."
Yu Chen glanced down at himself. "I'm fine."
Is it alright?
She hesitated for a moment before saying, "But it's dirty..."
He looked at her and said matter-of-factly, "You get even more blood on your body during wartime."
Upon hearing this, Su Wuli was stunned.
He immediately blurted out, "It's different."
Yu Chen looked at her and asked, "What's the difference? Aren't they all blood?"
As soon as she finished speaking, Su Wuli was stunned again.
Watching Yu Chen grab the bed sheet and turn to walk towards the laundry room.
Seeing this, she quickly said, "Wait a minute."
He stopped and turned back to her.
"You need to soak it in water first, otherwise it won't wash off," Su Wuli reminded her.
He glanced down at the bed sheet in his hand.
She further explained, "Soak the sheets in cold water for a while before washing them."
Yu Chen nodded and turned to walk towards the laundry room.
Su Wuli sat on the sofa, listening to his footsteps fade into the distance, followed by the sound of the tap being turned on.
After a while, the sound of water stopped.
She thought he would come back, but there was no sound from the laundry room.
After waiting for a while, there was still no movement.
"Ding-dong"
Suddenly, the doorbell rang.
Su Wuli froze, suddenly remembering that she had no work scheduled for today. Lin Liwen had said yesterday that she would be coming over today to discuss the upcoming work arrangements.
An alarm went off in my head; Yu Chen was still in the laundry room.
Thinking of this, she quickly stood up and ran to the laundry room.
In the laundry room, the wad of bed sheet was soaking in the laundry tub.
But there was no one.
She was stunned for a moment, then turned and ran to the living room, but there was no one there, nor was there anyone in the kitchen.
Gone?
The doorbell rang again.
Su Wuli snapped out of her daze, walked over, and opened the door.
Lin Liwen stood at the door, holding a file folder in her hand.
"Why did it take so long?" she asked as she walked inside. "I thought you weren't home."
"I was in the restroom just now." Su Wuli closed the door and followed behind her.
"Several brands want to invite you to dinner this month."
Lin Liwen flipped through the file bag in her hand, talking as she walked.
"I've already turned them all down for you, but there are a few that I can't get out of the way, so you'll have to make an appearance when you have some free time..."
Su Wuli nodded and asked, "What's this?"
"This is—" Lin Liwen suddenly stopped speaking, staring blankly ahead.
Su Wuli followed her gaze.
On the balcony, a man was seen pushing open the door and walking in.
He was still wearing the same dark robe, and he was carrying a gray rabbit in his hand.
The rabbit struggled and kicked its legs.
Su Wuli was stunned. He didn't leave?
Lin Liwen opened her mouth and then closed it again.
Her gaze moved from the man's face to him and then back to his face.
She then took a step back and pulled Su Wuli behind her.
Su Wuli was caught off guard and stumbled as she was pulled.
Lin Liwen blocked her way, raising her hand and pointing at Yu Chen.
My hands were trembling uncontrollably, and my lips were shaking too.
"You...you..." Lin Liwen's voice was squeezed out of her throat.
Intermittently, "You are that...that..."
She couldn't continue.
Yu Chen stood there motionless, holding the rabbit in his hand.
He glanced at Lin Liwen without saying anything, then looked at Su Wuli.
Lin Liwen followed his gaze and realized that his eyes were on Su Wuli.
I felt like I'd been struck by something, and my legs started to go weak.
She opened her mouth and finally managed to squeeze out a few words, "Ghost...you are that ghost..."
She completely broke down, crying out, "Don't come any closer!"
She screamed and shrank back, her hands still trembling, but she stood firmly in front of Su Wuli.
"You...you mustn't bother her anymore. She's a good child, please don't hurt her...I beg you—"
She began to choke up as she spoke.
"I'll burn whatever you want, money or a house, just don't come looking for her... leave her alone."
