Chapter 779: Could It Be What Zhan Che Said?

Su Wanxin woke up early in the morning, yawning as she walked downstairs and outside.

Being pregnant, she had developed some confidence in her cooking skills.

However, Su Wanxin dared not cook for herself, so she just mixed some oatmeal with milk before heading to work. Before getting into her car, she carefully inspected it to make sure everything was okay.

The warnings Cheng Yao gave her last night kept echoing in her mind; she couldn’t and shouldn’t forget them.

Furthermore, Su Wanxin felt that after saying those words, Cheng Yao might disappear for a while.

Cheng Yao also didn’t dare to take risks; she must be afraid Su Wanxin might tell everything to Fu Shihan.

If after everything that had happened, she still had the audacity to stay with the Fu Family, to stay close to Fu Shihan, then Su Wanxin really admired her nerve.

Qi Ran booked a flight to the Imperial Capital immediately after receiving a call from Su Wanxin last night. Upon waking up, Su Wanxin saw the flight information she had sent, felt a sense of guilt, but more so, warmth and reassurance.

She arrived at work and immersed herself in her tasks. At noon, she ate as usual and then went to see Zhan Che for an injection.

Zhan Che told her that her health was still manageable, as long as she didn’t stay up all night working excessively hard, or recklessly drink and party, the baby should grow healthily.

After hearing his words, Su Wanxin nodded expressionlessly, indicating she understood.

She looked at Zhan Che, hesitating, really wanting to know why Cheng Yao knew about her pregnancy.

Could it have been Zhan Che who told?

There weren’t many people Su Wanxin trusted; losing any one of them felt as painful as losing a piece of her flesh.

She hoped it wasn’t Zhan Che, not at all.

After the car accident years ago, he was the main doctor who stayed by her side. She owed her life to his efforts.

He had worked so hard to save her back then, why would he now work to let her die?

"What’s wrong?" Zhan Che was tidying up the case files on the desk, looked up, and saw Su Wanxin staring at him with a complicated expression.

He was momentarily stunned, feeling inexplicably anxious.

"Zhan Che, have you ever lied to me?" Su Wanxin asked softly, looking him in the eye.

Zhan Che frowned slightly, thought hard, then nodded, which made Su Wanxin’s expression change.

"I was unsure back then, but still deceived you thinking it would save you, does that count?"

Doctors don’t guarantee to cure a patient, but he made that assurance.

Su Wanxin, conflicted, bit her lower lip, then asked, "Do you know Cheng Yao?"

"Who?" Zhan Che looked puzzled. "Should I know her?"

"...No matter." Su Wanxin shook her head, saying, "She’s an enemy of mine."

Sensing something was amiss from her words, Zhan Che pressed for more details, and after hearing them, his expression also changed.

"You said she knows about your pregnancy and confidently said she could make you lose the baby?"

Su Wanxin nodded, "Yes."

"Don’t come to the hospital anymore." Zhan Che spoke with a grave expression: "There are many doctors and nurses here, and lots of patients; I can’t confirm everyone’s identity. From today, go straight home after work, I will come to see you."

Zhan Che isn’t permanently stationed at the hospital, so he couldn’t be sure there wouldn’t be anyone there who might harm Su Wanxin.

"The medicine I give you will be carefully verified every time, don’t worry, it’ll be alright."

"Okay." Su Wanxin didn’t know what else to say, so she just kept nodding.

Seeing her like this, Zhan Che couldn’t help but sigh, "You, can’t you just live a little more quietly, like a normal person?"
