Shattered by Fate, Restored by Truth

Chapter 750: She Said, Don’t Go.

Chapter 750: She Said, Don’t Go.

Su Wanxin’s outright refusal left Su Yao somewhat unhappy.

She looked at Su Wanxin worriedly, listening to her talk with voice so stuffy, puzzled why this girl had to push herself so hard.

From childhood to adulthood, regardless of how Su Yao was outside the home, at home, she would sometimes act coquettishly with her family. Sometimes when facing difficulties at work, she would also discuss them with Qi Ran, seeking some help.

But Su Wanxin wouldn’t do so. She never acted coquettishly, nor did she seek help.

Isn’t she tired?

"Wanwan, tell me, what kind of person were you before?" Su Yao asked looking at her, her voice softening.

"Before?"

"Yes, before, when you were living with the Fu Family, what were you like?"

"Why ask such a question?" Su Wanxin wondered.

"Because I’m not sure whether this personality of yours was cultivated from childhood, or... or if you haven’t fully accepted us as your family."

"Don’t say that." Su Wanxin’s expression grew serious. "You all are all I have left."

She lowered her head and forced a bitter smile, "I just think I can hang on a bit more, and when I really can’t handle it anymore, I’ll tell you guys."

"Alright then." Su Yao sighed heavily. "I’ll trust you this once."

Qi Ran and Su Yu Yan had a dinner engagement in the evening, and Su Yu and Su Bai had left on a noon flight, so now only the two of them were at home.

After eating, Su Wanxin went upstairs to her study, and half an hour later, Su Yao came to bring her some medicine.

Su Yao watched as she finished taking her medicine, and then took her temperature, considerably worried.

"Ancestor, let’s go to the hospital, you’ve had a fever for two days now, and it’s still 39.5 degrees. Do you plan on becoming a fool so we have to take care of you?"

Su Wanxin originally wanted to refuse, but then she thought about her upcoming business trip abroad. The flu seemed quite serious recently, and if she got stopped at security because of it, that would really ruin everything.

So after a moment of consideration, she nodded and got up.

"Let’s go, to the hospital."

Su Yao didn’t expect her to agree so readily this time, and fearing that she might change her mind, quickly pulled her out the door and headed straight to the hospital.

The hospital was crowded with people getting IV drips for colds; it was a long wait before they got their turn, and by the time they got home, it was already eleven at night.

Su Yao got out of the car and glanced at Fu Shihan’s house, puzzled: "How is he so busy that he’s still not back?"

Su Wanxin slightly furrowed her brow, still not daring to reveal to Su Yao the rift with Shihan.

She knew once mentioned, Su Yao would refuse interaction with Lu Ci, something she did not want to see.

So she evasively said, "He came to the company at noon to find me, he must be quite busy lately."

"Oh."

Su Yao wasn’t interested in Fu Shihan’s work, so she did not inquire further, tucked in her coat, and ran into the house.

Su Wanxin was strongly ushered into the bedroom by her, and the two, after a long time, lay together on the same bed. Su Yao turned to her side, only to feel that the person beside her had visibly lost a lot of weight these past few days.

Feeling heartache, Su Yao stretched out her hand to hold her tightly in her arms, then fell asleep.

Time slowly passed, and after who knows how long, Su Yao hadn’t fallen asleep yet, but Su Wanxin had already succumbed to dreamland because of the sedative effect of the cold medicine.

Soft sobs prompted Su Yao to open her eyes, her brows tightly knit as she watched the person in her arms, not knowing what kind of dream she was having.

Her sleeve was all wet with tears. She gently withdrew her arm, and just as she was about to wake Su Wanxin up, she heard her softly utter two words.

She said, don’t go.

Su Yao was momentarily stunned, her sleeve grabbed by Su Wanxin, her heart inexplicably sinking, feeling very uncomfortable.
