Chapter 731: Don’t Want to Deal with Her Anymore

Chapter 731: Don’t Want to Deal with Her Anymore

Meeting Fu Shihan’s cold gaze, Su Wanxin thought of the incident from last night, a dull pain throbbing in her chest.

After a series of events, Su Wanxin adopted a rather defeatist attitude, so she ate her breakfast quite composedly.

She thought to herself, the worst has already happened, just finish the meal and leave.

"Shi Yi, you drive her back to the company later."

Beside the dining table, Fu Shihan was the first one to put down his chopsticks. He spoke leisurely, drawing the attention of everyone else.

"Ah?" Fu Shiyi was taken aback for a moment. "Aren’t you driving her?"

"I have to go straight to the airport, I don’t have time."

"Oh..." Fu Shiyi nodded slightly. "Okay, then I’ll drive her."

After the two finished speaking, Fu Shihan went upstairs to get his things. Su Wanxin wasn’t sure whether he was genuinely going on a business trip or just making an excuse, but his demeanor made it clear that he wouldn’t be dealing with her any time soon.

The subtle shift in the atmosphere between the two was perceived by everyone who was paying attention.

After breakfast, Su Wanxin was finally free to leave. She said her goodbyes to Fu Yansheng and others, and the moment she sat in Fu Shiyi’s car, she felt a sense of relief.

The car slowly left the Fu Residence and then picked up speed, heading in the direction of her company.

Fu Shiyi stole glances at Su Wanxin, trying to spot something unusual on her face.

But since Su Wanxin was constantly looking down at her phone, checking the news, Fu Shiyi couldn’t detect anything, and eventually, she couldn’t help but ask, "Wanwan, did you and my brother have an argument?"

"No," Su Wanxin replied softly. "Why do you ask?"

"Then why is he sporting such a long face... It’s really strange, is there some problem at the company?"

She hadn’t heard him mention anything about a business trip that night, it all seemed quite sudden.

"He’s always like that," Su Wanxin smiled. "I think it’s pretty normal."

"He may act like that with us, but not with you," Fu Shiyi earnestly contradicted. "Well, maybe there really is some issue at the company today, and he’s in a bad mood."

Su Wanxin gave a soft "hmm" and said nothing more. After reaching the company, she thanked Fu Shiyi and quickly immersed herself in work.

Around nine in the morning, Su Yao called her, hesitating to ask about her night, concerned that the Fu family hadn’t made things difficult for her.

Actually, Su Yao had wanted to call last night, but she was afraid Su Wanxin might have the Fu family around and wouldn’t be able to speak freely.

She considered sending a message but was worried that Su Wanxin would be with the Fu family, which might come off as inconsiderate and leave a bad impression.

"No, it was just a dinner, why make it difficult for me?" Su Wanxin answered softly. "Yaoyao, I need to attend a meeting, let’s not talk now, we can chat when I get home tonight."

"Okay, then you carry on, we’ll talk when you’re back home!"

Su Yao hung up promptly, and Su Wanxin tossed her phone onto the desk, sighing with relief, then resting her head on the desk, overwhelmed by a headache.

She felt she must be getting old; just one night without sleep and she was exhausted to the point of nearly passing out any minute.

After resting her head for about ten minutes, her secretary came to remind her that she had to leave for an event.

Su Wanxin got up with a hoarse voice in response, washed her face with cold water, and hurriedly left for the event site.

Her recent schedule was overwhelmingly busy. Hua Zheng would open the day after tomorrow, and post-opening, Su Wanxin would temporarily shift her focus there. Moreover, once Hua Zheng opened, the upcoming projects would be of immense difficulty.

Su Wanxin had already anticipated what the public reaction would be when Hua Zheng announced which company it would investigate first.
