Chapter 677: Still Expecting to Succeed in One Step?

He had met two women that he found quite attractive, and during meals, he felt the conversation was decent, so they continued to see each other a few times.

But these so-called meetings were merely just going out for a meal, playing some golf, and in a more clichéd scenario, going to see a movie.

It’s not that he had never done anything; he had held hands, whether it was initiated by him or the other party. But kissing, that had never happened.

The longest he had ever been in contact with a blind date was no more than two months, after which they stopped keeping in touch. There were reasons on his part, and reasons on theirs as well.

Blind dates are all about rushing into marriage.

The Lu Family was also eager for him to marry, but his willingness to go on blind dates didn’t mean he was prepared to rush into marriage.

It’s better to speak up sooner rather than later; take advantage of the fact that she’s angry today, spill it all at once, and get over with the anger at once.

"Don’t bring up the matter of money with me, who knows, in the future my money might all be yours, passing it back and forth is unnecessary."

Lu Ci said with a profound look in his eyes.

"I need to be sure you’re not angry anymore, and that you’ll continue to see me in the future before I let you go. Otherwise..."

Su Yao raised an eyebrow: "Otherwise what could you possibly do to me?"

Are you rebelling against me? Considering to kiss me, then sleep with me? Trying to go all the way in one step?

"Otherwise you’re definitely not leaving tonight," Lu Ci said matter-of-factly. "You have court tomorrow, and I have a business trip. It will take three days before I can return. Without clearing things up, I won’t be in the mood to make money."

Su Yao chuckled, leaned over to grab the remote control, turned on the TV, and started watching with her arms crossed.

For a while, neither of them spoke again; only the sound of the TV was audible in the room.

Su Yao just watched, and unconsciously she began to feel sleepy. She wanted to sleep, but he wouldn’t let her leave, so they just had to keep this standoff going.

Lu Ci watched her trying to fight off sleep with great amusement, holding back a laugh, he raised his hand and poked her cheek, asking, "Does agreeing to continue to see me cost you a piece of flesh?"

Su Yao snorted coldly, "It does."

"Then I’m helping you lose weight; shouldn’t you be thanking me?"

"Are you saying I’m fat?"

Women’s logic really can be terrifying.

Time slowly passed, and Su Yao glanced at the watch on her wrist with the corner of her eye. She had already been here for almost an hour, truly sleepy enough to fall asleep at any minute.

She shook her head, intending to leave with a stronger attitude when suddenly there came a cry from the bedroom, startling both her and Lu Ci.

They both got up and headed towards the room, pushed open the door in a hurry, and then saw Yangyang sitting on the bed, crying piteously.

"What’s wrong?"

Su Yao walked over worriedly, and seeing this, Yangyang clumsily tugged at the blanket, pursing his lips to keep from crying out loud.

Su Yao found his appearance heart-wrenching. She touched his head softly and asked in a gentle voice, "Did you have a nightmare?"

Yangyang shook his head, held back for a moment, and then burst into tears again.

Su Yao, panicked by his crying, quickly started to wipe away his tears. Then she heard him sob intermittently as he said, "I need to change my pants."
