Chapter 662: Hasn’t She Told You That I Like You?
Chapter 662: Hasn’t She Told You That I Like You?
"Didn’t she also tell you that to save you, I almost lost my life?"
His expression was a mix of a smile and seriousness as he spoke, leaving Wanxin unable to discern whether his words were true or false.
Her first instinct was that he was joking, but then she thought it might not be the case.
Mu Xinghan looked at her, finding it unbelievable that she had forgotten everything.
He always said, she was the kind of person who loved to stir things up, how could she obediently disappear for a year and not show up?
He knew she hadn’t died, he just didn’t know where she was.
Forgotten...
That’s probably for the best.
A year ago, he had planned to handle things this way, unexpectedly, she had spared him the trouble.
Mu Xinghan’s lips slightly curled up as he asked again, "Nor did she tell you that I like you?"
Wanxin’s breath hitched, her eyes widening instantly. She stared at him intently for a moment, then turned and fled in panic.
"Sorry, I have a boyfriend now."
The moment she shut the door, Wanxin said in a flurry, then ran back to the set without looking back.
"What happened?" Su Yao and Yifan, seeing her pale face, asked in unison.
Wanxin shook her head, sighing, "Nothing, just got a bit lost and almost wandered off."
"I told you I would go with you." Su Yao frowned, taking her hand, "Follow me."
Wanxin of course followed her, clenching Su Yao’s hand tightly, glancing back in the direction she had come from.
She didn’t understand why she was so panicked, nor could she explain why she felt afraid; it was just an innate resistance, an aversion to seeing that person again.
Su Yao, noticing her distracted demeanor, quickly took her back to the hotel, and once they were alone, she pressed for details about what had happened on the set.
Wanxin, lying exhausted on the couch, confessed softly, "I met a man who said he liked me."
Su Yao: "???"
"And it seems I knew him before."
Wanxin’s head ached; enduring the pain, she told Su Yao, "Do you remember Mu Suyu?"
"Of course."
"Well, the man I just met said his name is Mu Xinghan, Suyu’s brother."
Su Yao: "..."
Mu Suyu had told Wanxin to contact her when she returned to the country.
Wanxin had been back for several months but hadn’t called, busy with work and unsure of what reason she’d have to contact her.
Now, she felt it might be time to get in touch with her.
"Yaoyao, my head hurts, I’m going to sleep for a bit."
"Okay, go ahead." Su Yao nodded, watching her worriedly as she entered the bedroom, then sat down on the couch, lost in thought.
Being confessed to was not something new for Wanxin, even if the man was Mu Suyu’s brother, it wouldn’t typically distress her so much.
So, Su Yao guessed, there must be other issues, it was just that Wanxin didn’t want to talk about them.
Wanxin entered the bedroom and drew the curtains; the curtains were very good at blocking light, and as soon as they were all drawn, the room darkened.
She lay in bed, rubbing her temples, and quickly fell asleep. When she woke up, she didn’t know what time it was, only that she was lying in a very warm embrace, the familiar sensation instantly bringing tears to her nose.
She slowly turned her head to look at the person behind her; it was Fu Shihan.
He was holding her in his sleep.
Wanxin looked at him, her mind uncontrollably brought back the scene of encountering Mu Xinghan earlier that day.
