Chapter 655: Don’t even think about snatching our Fu Family people!

Pushing the door open, Fu Shiyi’s gaze first fell on Su Yao, then shifted to Lu Zhenning. She greeted, "Grandpa," sat down, and asked, "Grandpa, what kind of arrangement is this?"

Lu Zhenning raised his eyebrows slightly and replied, "Choosing a bride for my grandson, what’s wrong with that?"

Hearing this, Fu Shiyi became anxious. "What do you mean by choosing? This is..."

She glanced at Wanxin, then at Su Yao.

"Are you planning to snatch someone away?"

"Heh? How is this snatching someone?" Lu Zhenning unapologetically rebutted. "Which of these two is from the Fu Family? How am I snatching anyone?"

Fu Shiyi was at a loss for words, unsure how to refute, but still insisted, "She is my sister-in-law, I understand that you want a granddaughter-in-law, but you can’t just take my brother’s woman!"

Lu Zhenning asked, "Your brother’s woman, is she married?"

Fu Shiyi replied, "...but she has a child!"

"Then she might as well change her surname to Lu when she comes over. Anyway, it seems like your Fu Family doesn’t plan to keep her," Lu Zhenning said sarcastically, a smile playing on his lips. "You have no part in this, scram, go back and play with your grandpa!"

"I won’t leave!"

After such words from him, how could she possibly feel at ease to leave?

"If you’re looking for a granddaughter-in-law, choose her!" She pointed at Su Yao. "Just don’t choose my sister-in-law; our family had already arranged this long ago. You should know."

"Who arranged it? Your grandpa?" Lu Zhenning laughed out loud. "I bet your grandpa would love for me to take this girl away?"

His statement cooled down the atmosphere in the room even more, but Lu Zhenning didn’t care, he spoke his mind.

"Go back and tell your grandpa, say I said this: whether it’s a granddaughter-in-law or a great-grandson, from now on, they’re all part of the Lu Family. If he wants someone, he should come find me himself."

Unable to argue with the unreasonable old man, Fu Shiyi simply pulled Wanxin up and took her away, visibly upset.

"Wanwan, don’t listen to Grandpa Lu’s nonsense, your grandpa, he actually likes you a lot!"

Wanxin could tell what was true and what was not. Seeing how tense Fu Shiyi was, she smiled slightly, "I don’t want to talk about this, thank you for taking me out. If there’s nothing else, I’ll head back now."

No matter how scheming Mr. Lu was, he wouldn’t do such a thing.

Although Wanxin didn’t fully understand why Lu Zhenning said those things, she knew he was serious. Fu Shihan’s grandpa definitely didn’t like her.

Ignoring Fu Shiyi’s attempt to stop her, Wanxin took a cab back home. Once home, she sent a message to Su Yao, telling her to eat more and to finish her share as well.

Su Yao was in deep distress, hardly in the mood to eat. She sat with Lu Zhenning and Lu Ci in the restaurant for over an hour, enduring until the two had their fill of drink before she was finally free.

Returning home, Lu Ci offered to accompany Su Yao, but she firmly refused. Lu Ci felt somewhat helpless and smiled bitterly.

"You worked hard today, but I genuinely didn’t know about this beforehand. I’ll talk to him later, this won’t happen again."

Su Yao casually nodded, accepting his apology, then curiously asked, "Why does Fu Shihan’s grandpa dislike my sister? What makes my sister unworthy of his grandson?"

While eating, Su Yao had been wondering, as even outsiders could tell that the old man didn’t like Wanxin. Just how blatant was his dislike?
