Chapter 558, Wanwan, I’m Not a Gentleman.
Chapter 558, Wanwan, I’m Not a Gentleman.
He genuinely liked her, he had never liked anyone this much in over twenty years.
He liked the way she looked, he liked her personality, he liked her temperament.
Today, on his way to the airport to pick her up, Fu Shihan was constantly thinking about how he should explain himself and appease her to dispel her doubts.
He wasn’t afraid of her getting angry; he was only afraid that she wouldn’t trust him, that no matter what he said, she wouldn’t believe him—that would be the worst outcome.
He had thought it through a lot, but what he never expected was that she trusted him, right from the start.
His hot breath brushed past her ears, causing Su Wanxin to become somewhat panicked, daring not to move an inch.
"Didn’t you ever suspect, what if I really... really couldn’t resist and invited her, and something happened?" Fu Shihan, his eyes shining with excitement, asked her softly, trying to control his emotions.
Su Wanxin heard him, frowned, and shook her head.
"No, you... to put it nicely, you’re principled and proud; to put it harshly, you’re just too full of idiosyncrasies. You don’t fancy her."
Her words made the smile in Fu Shihan’s eyes grow even wider.
Too full of idiosyncrasies?
Correct, that was very accurate.
"Also... I always feel that you are not the kind of person who indulges himself," Su Wanxin hesitated, her voice as soft as a mosquito’s. "That night I stayed here, if you really forced yourself on me, I wouldn’t have been able to resist."
He said he wouldn’t do anything, and indeed he did nothing.
Maybe he is a rascal in other things, but on certain matters, he’s a gentleman, very restrained.
That’s how Su Wanxin regarded him.
"Besides, even if you were to arrange a meeting, there’s no need to meet with a popular actress, not to mention one who likes you. I don’t believe you don’t know that Zhang Xinjie likes you. Once a person like her gets involved, it would be very hard to get rid of her."
"Yeah, you’re right," Fu Shihan nodded, then contradicted her: "But there is one thing you got wrong."
"What?"
"I’m not gentlemanly, not in the slightest." He seemed to guess her thoughts and said in a husky voice: "You’ll find out how much of a rogue I can be later."
Su Wanxin: "..."
"Wanwan, you know what I want," he said slowly: "But I don’t want to pressure you. Whenever you’re ready, let me know, okay?"
They were both adults; they’d had children for so many years; to say she didn’t grasp his implication would be too fake.
Zhang Xinjie had already called her an old woman, and Su Wanxin herself didn’t pretend to be underage; she knew what he was waiting for.
Her face flushed, heart racing. After a long silence, she gritted her teeth and nodded in agreement.
But after saying that, she was so embarrassed she couldn’t utter another word to him.
At four in the morning, knowing that he wouldn’t let her go home at such an hour, Su Wanxin defiantly pulled the blanket over her face and went to sleep.
Fu Shihan found her behavior amusing but, fearing she would get upset and really leave, he barely managed to hold back a laugh and gently embraced her, finally able to get some good sleep.
In the morning, when they woke up, it was already past eight and they were too late for the early morning meeting at the office.
Su Wanxin frowned at her phone, seemed utterly forlorn, sniffled a bit due to a slightly stuffed nose, decided to skip work and go in the afternoon instead.
She threw her phone away in resignation, pushed away the clingy Fu Shihan, grabbed the blanket, and went back to sleep. She didn’t get up until satisfied at around ten o’clock.
They had lunch at home, personally prepared by Chef Fu. After eating fully, Su Wanxin patted her bottom, waved goodbye without even saying the words, and just slipped away.
