Shattered by Fate, Restored by Truth

Chapter 446: What Would Happen If I Had Designs on Her?

Chapter 446: What Would Happen If I Had Designs on Her?

Fu Shihan knew about Wanxin’s suicide from someone else.

But why she attempted suicide, he wasn’t sure, nor did anyone tell him.

Su Yao sternly warned him not to get too close to Wanxin. Fu Shihan was a bit surprised; he actually listened to every word patiently.

He bowed his head in silence for a moment, Su Yao thought he agreed by default. Unexpectedly, just as she was about to turn around, she heard him say,

"What would happen if I pursued her?"

He asked softly, his expression half-smiling.

In his life, Fu Shihan had never given up on doing anything because of someone else’s warning.

The only way he would let go was if he chose to do so himself.

Su Yao took a sharp breath, feeling that he was impervious to advice. "Pursuing her is useless, Wanwan will not be with you. She avoids your family at all costs."

After Su Yao finished speaking, she got into her car and left. Fu Shihan watched her car drive away before he too headed to the office.

Fu Shili came back from a business trip today and heard colleagues chatting about Wanxin right as he arrived at the office. He took the opportunity after the meeting to visit Fu Shihan’s office.

"Has Wanwan returned?"

He asked straightforwardly, to which Fu Shihan responded lightly with a "Hmm" and then asked, "Has she gone back home?"

"Whose home?" Fu Shihan paused what he was doing with his hands, shifted his gaze from the computer, and looked at him, asking in a way that left Fu Shili momentarily at a loss for words.

Then, Fu Shihan asked another question, "Go back for what?"

Su Yao had said it was the Fu Family that drove Wanxin to suicide, and Wanxin herself also said she detested the people from the Fu Family.

So, why would he take her back? To find more reasons to be unhappy, to increase the anger for when they confront each other in the future?

Fu Shihan’s mood was low all day because of those few words from Su Yao.

He wants to have some relationship with Wanxin, and yet he needs the approval of the entire Su Family?

Fu Shili stood still, watching his brother’s grim face, silently turned around wanting to leave. Then, he heard Fu Shihan’s soul-piercing third question—

"Did Wanxin’s previous suicide attempt have anything to do with our family?"

Fu Shili felt a headache coming. He wanted to ignore Fu Shihan’s question and just walk out, but after thinking, he couldn’t.

Some things, you have to acknowledge.

"I’m not clear on the specifics, but it’s obvious, it can’t be unrelated."

If he were to say that Wanxin’s previous depression and suicide had nothing to do with them, Fu Shili would feel guilty.

After hearing this, Fu Shihan nodded. "Alright, I understand."

If that’s the case, then the scolding from Su Yao isn’t unjustified.

Wanxin just disappeared from his sight like that, no longer encountering her by her doorstep after work; Fu Shihan worked overtime until half-past midnight before leisurely heading home.

Wanxin took a more than ten hours flight back to Di City, rushing to see Hodward at GE upon arrival, and after hearing his reason for calling her, she immediately invigorated, spending the whole night discussing in the office.

Exhausted to the bone, Wanxin went home to catch up on sleep, waking up to check the unread messages on her phone, her eyes slightly trembling at the sight of Fu Shihan’s name.

The message was sent yesterday when she was on the plane.

He was asking when she would return.

Actually, it was a very ordinary question, but coming from him, it felt strange.

Is he the type to casually care about someone else’s itinerary? No.

Wanxin saw it, deleted it, did not reply.

He is a dangerous person, better to stay away.
