Shattered by Fate, Restored by Truth

Chapter 437: Less Than Three Minutes, A Slap in the Face.

Chapter 437: Less Than Three Minutes, A Slap in the Face.

Li Mo’s mood was heavy as he heard Fu Shihan say, "But even if she doesn’t remember, the hatred score is quite high. Was this girl’s temper so big when she used to live at our place?"

Fu Shihan’s smile was ironic. He knew about Su Wanxin being adopted and raised by the Fu Family from what he had heard from others.

Fu Shihan chatted with Li Mo for a while before heading upstairs.

In the study room upstairs, Fu Yu’an was quietly sitting on the carpet reading. Hearing the door open, he turned his head and called out softly, "Daddy."

Fu Shihan walked over, glanced at the book he was reading, and nodded his head.

Some things had changed quite a bit over the year, like this little guy.

He had grown taller and spoke less.

Using Li Mo’s words, it was "learning the bad instead of the good," picking up just the essence of Fu Shihan’s bad temper.

Fu Shihan sat on the sofa watching him and after a while, took out his cellphone.

"Do you recognize her?"

He showed Fu Yu’an a photo and the latter looked at it, startled for a moment, then nodded: "Mommy."

"She’s back." Fu Shihan asked in a clear voice, "Do you want to go see her?"

"...No." Fu Yu’an hesitated for a moment and shook his head. "I don’t want to see her."

"Huh?" Fu Shihan raised an eyebrow. "Are you sure?"

"Mommy is a bad person. I don’t want her anymore."

"Heh." Fu Shihan’s lips curled with a smile. "Okay, quite some spine there. Remember what you said; don’t ever see her."

After finishing his words, he got up to leave. Seeing this, Fu Yu’an scrambled up from the floor, followed him from upstairs to downstairs, and then out the door.

Fu Shihan opened the car door and glanced at him, signaling him to go back.

"Where are you going?" Fu Yu’an asked a bit anxiously.

Fu Shihan remained silent.

"To see Mommy?"

Fu Shihan still didn’t speak.

"I want to go too!"

Fu Shihan sneered: "Didn’t you say you weren’t going to see her, that you didn’t want her?"

Couldn’t even last three minutes, listen to that, the sound of his face getting slapped was pretty loud.

Fu Yu’an’s face reddened from the rebuke, and his eyes did the same.

Seeing this, Fu Shihan’s heart softened for a moment, but it was indeed just for a moment.

Some words once spoken had a price, otherwise, how would one ever learn? So, even though Fu Yu’an’s intentions were clearly expressed, Fu Shihan still didn’t take him along.

In the cold wind, Fu Yu’an, dressed in thin clothes, watched the car drive away. After holding it in for a long time, he finally burst into tears with a loud cry.

He was just saying it for the sake of it. Can’t he even just say it!?!

Fu Yu’an cried uncontrollably, and in the end, a few servants joined forces to take him inside. He ran back to his room, locked himself in, and refused to see anyone.

That night, both father and son had a rough time due to the same woman.

Su Wanxin hadn’t replied to Fu Shihan’s message, leaving him hanging without a response. He almost felt like smashing the door next door to ask if her phone was broken or if there was something wrong with his, otherwise, why hadn’t he received a message.

Su Wanxin spent the entire weekend, two days in a row, lying in bed questioning her life.

She once believed she had a bright future ahead, but it darkened just in the time it took to watch a variety show.

She had a son, who was most likely fathered by someone with the surname Fu.

For the rest of her life, she had to be connected to that Fu, because of the child.

She...

Felt so hopeless.

Su Wanxin remained in that state of despair until Monday when she went to work at the company with a sullen face.

It had been a long time since her colleagues saw her with such a menacing look. They immediately became cautious and discreetly discussed who could have been so fearless to have provoked their President Su.
