Chapter 423: It’s not appropriate for a man and a woman to be alone together in a room late at night.

Fu Shihan didn’t know why, but seeing her just made him want to tease her. Even though he didn’t feel much when he saw her photos before.

Su Wanxin hadn’t pressed any floor buttons, so she simply followed him to the 16th-floor banquet hall, thinking she’d leave after he stepped out.

As a result, this guy was as steady as an old dog, putting on an air as if to say, "I won’t leave if you don’t leave," which was particularly annoying.

The elevator doors opened, and they looked like they were going to close again.

Fu Shihan calmly pressed the open door button, his gaze fixed on her the entire time.

They stood in silence like this, confronting each other, until Su Wanxin heard the sound of people talking.

There were quite a few people and the sound of their footsteps was mixed.

Fu Shihan was there for socializing, so Su Wanxin thought that people who knew him probably knew her as well.

She glanced at Fu Shihan’s clothes, then at her own outfit, and felt it wasn’t right.

No matter what, she couldn’t lose in terms of presence. She couldn’t let people see her standing beside Fu Shihan in these clothes; sight alone would mean defeat.

So she reached up to adjust her baseball cap, hurried towards Fu Shihan, tossed the plastic bag into his arms, pushed him out of the elevator with one hand, and then swiftly closed the elevator doors.

The series of actions were smooth as water, perfect.

It wasn’t until the elevator returned to her floor that she looked at her empty hands and felt like cursing.

Where’s her food???

On the 16th floor.

Fu Shihan stood outside the elevator, caught by others holding a plain white plastic bag that totally didn’t match his status.

Inside were a box of instant noodles, a sausage, an egg, two packets of spicy strips, a large bag of ready-to-eat seaweed and chips, and two bottles of yogurt.

God Fu: "..."

The crowd: "..."

The atmosphere was a bit eerie.

Everyone was bursting with curiosity at the sight of the contents of the bag, but their desire for survival was stronger, so they all held back, not daring to ask what was going on.

With an unchanged expression, Fu Shihan walked inside with the items, the value of the few dollars’ worth of snacks skyrocketing with his presence, as if the tags read Hermès.

Fu Shihan drew attention all the way, and after entering, he summoned a waiter, handed him the items, and instructed, "Take good care of this, don’t lose it."

The waiter looked at the things entrusted to him, with a complex expression, not daring to complain.

Who would steal this stuff?

Fu Shihan asked him to take the snacks and wait for him at the door. The waiter dared not disobey, also not understanding what this ’deity’ was up to.

End of the year, the social engagements were endless.

Holding a drink, Fu Shihan perfunctorily dealt with people who came up to chat. However, his mind was occupied with thoughts of Su Wanxin.

When did she arrive? Didn’t she have dinner? Was she planning to eat that junk food?

The more he pondered, the more irritable he became.

Ignorant of the situation, people only noticed his expression getting colder and naturally, they began to keep their distance.

After a moment of quiet, Fu Shihan turned and walked out. He retrieved the items he’d previously left with the waiter, called to find out Su Wanxin’s room number, and made his way there.

Su Wanxin sat in her room, heard the doorbell, and thinking it was Su Yao returning, got up to open the door. Then, upon seeing the face outside, her immediate reaction was to close the door.

Fu Shihan didn’t let her close it as he wished and effortlessly broke in.

A faint smell of smoke lingered in the room, and between her fingers was a half-smoked cigarette.

He frowned and began to speak, "Haven’t I told you not to..."

He stopped mid-sentence.

What had he told her? What was she not allowed to say?

Some memories seemed to flicker in his mind, elusive and unclear, causing agitation and confusion.

Su Wanxin looked at him as if he were an idiot, urging, "If you have something to say, say it quickly; if not, then leave quickly. It’s not good for a man and a woman to be alone together at night—it would look bad if it got out."
