Chapter 407: Meeting Su Wanxin

A dinner party lasting three hours.

Su Yao successfully got three men drunk to the point where they couldn’t even crawl, and elegantly wiped the corners of her mouth with a tissue.

She looked at Zhuo Yiqing and smiled, "When they sober up and mention my looks again, just say they were dreaming because they drank too much."

This was the first time Zhuo Yiqing saw a woman who could hold her liquor so well; he was visibly pale with shock.

After thinking over her words, he nodded, "I get what you mean."

"Thanks, I’ll take a cab back to the hotel myself. Tomorrow afternoon at three, wait for me in the cafe on the ground floor of the hotel with the contract."

Su Yao stood up, walking steadily in her high heels without even a blush or breathlessness, and left.

Zhuo Yiqing watched her leave, then turned to the three slipshodly drunk colleagues and muttered admiringly under his breath.

Su Yao had a good night’s sleep at the hotel and finalized the contract with Zhuo Yiqing the next afternoon, planning to visit Su Wanxin at the hospital in the evening.

By the time she arrived, it was already dark. To avoid drawing attention, she deliberately wore a hat and a mask, covering her face completely.

This was a private hospital, not very large, and it wasn’t very crowded.

Su Yao walked around the ward area, but did not see Su Wanxin’s name on any doorplate. Just as she was about to ask a nurse which ward Su Wanxin was in, she suddenly saw Fu Shihan exiting a room.

Fu Shihan left in a hurry without a sideways glance, completely unaware of her presence.

After he left, Su Yao slowly approached the room, knocked on the door, and entered.

Mu Suyu sat by the bed and upon seeing someone enter, asked cautiously, "Who are you? Who are you looking for?"

Su Yao didn’t answer and took a few steps forward until she could see the person on the bed.

She caught her breath, her heart inexplicably filled with pain and discomfort.

Mu Suyu, seeing her standing there, staring intently at Su Wanxin, got up and stood in front of her.

Then, when she took off her mask, Mu Suyu gasped.

"You..." Mu Suyu was so surprised she couldn’t speak. "You are...?"

"Are you her friend? What’s wrong with her? She looks very seriously ill."

Su Yao spoke softly, fearing her voice might alarm the person in the bed.

Su Wanxin still hadn’t awakened these past few days, sleeping undisturbed while other hearts were anxious.

Mu Suyu, unable to stop herself from staring at Su Yao, eventually asked, "Who exactly are you? How come you look... exactly like Wanwan?"

"My name is Su Yao, and I too want to know why she looks just like me."

After seeing with her own eyes, Su Yao could then understand the shock of others these past few days.

She walked to the bed, observing the frail figure of Su Wanxin. Listening to Mu Suyu say that Su Wanxin had attempted suicide by taking sleeping pills, her brows furrowed tightly.

"Why attempt suicide? Is her life not good? Isn’t she the president of the Su Family?"

"Not good, not good at all," Mu Suyu seriously replied. "She was bullied miserably."

Su Yao wanted to ask who it was, and some information flashed through her mind, "A Fu family member?"

"Do you know?"

"Huh."

Damn, it really was.

After chatting with Mu Suyu for a while, since Fu Shihan had just gone to see Mu Xinghan and wouldn’t return anytime soon,

and given that Su Yao’s appearance made her let her guard down, feeling almost as if she was speaking with Su Wanxin herself, Mu Suyu unwittingly revealed a lot of information.

Su Yao learned that Su Wanxin had been adopted from the orphanage by the Fu Family.

She learned that Su Wanxin had given birth to a child for Fu Shihan.

She learned that Su Wanxin had a car accident three years ago, and Li Mo was also in the car then.

She learned that the entire Fu Family regarded Su Wanxin as an enemy, just because Li Mo ended up with broken legs from that accident.
