Shattered by Fate, Restored by Truth

Chapter 389: Why Is There a Picture of Me Here?

Chapter 389: Why Is There a Picture of Me Here?

The two chatted awkwardly, and Zhou Cheng covered his face as he entered the restroom.

This girl is really funny, talking about finance when she should be doing stand-up comedy. But is she scared? Why does her face look a bit off?

Zhou Cheng sat on the toilet, puzzled, planning to ask her when he got out.

Su Wanxin waited outside the door, recalling her own words earlier, and couldn’t help but laugh too.

But speaking of which, why hasn’t Fu Shiyi arrived yet...

She did not dare to call and urge her, fearing that she might drive fast, this darn place is really tough to endure.

Su Wanxin looked up and saw White Impermanence walking past the stair corner, spitting out the red paper he was holding in his mouth to wave and greet her.

Turning her head, there was a Fox Demon. One of the fake tails attached to her buttocks had fallen off, and she was struggling to reattach it.

Turning in another direction, a Faceless Monster wearing a mask bumped into a wall because he couldn’t see the road, and he covered his head and cursed.

Su Wanxin: "..."

This group of fake demons, looking like this, doesn’t seem so scary anymore.

She pursed her lips and smiled, feeling a bit better. She took out her phone, really intending to play a happy birthday song for Zhou Cheng, when she suddenly heard someone call her name.

"Su Wanxin?"

An unfamiliar voice came through, she was slightly startled and looked up, then furrowed her brows.

"Who are you?" Su Wanxin looked at her with puzzlement; it was the Fox Demon who was just fixing her tail earlier.

Su Wanxin looked at her face, feeling that she had seen her before, but she couldn’t recall where.

There have been too many events recently, and she couldn’t keep up with the number of people she met, making it impossible to remember on such short notice where she had seen her.

"Cheng Yao, can we have a chat?" The woman smiled, yet Su Wanxin felt no goodwill. "Fu Shiyi brought you here, right?"

"You know Shi Yi?"

"More than know." Cheng Yao smiled. "Do you want to know who I am? Come with me."

She turned and left, and Su Wanxin hesitated for a moment, then followed.

The two entered a room one after the other, the door shut, and Su Wanxin’s face immediately changed.

The room was still decorated with a horrific setting, and dry ice fog filled half the room.

Actually, all these were fine for Su Wanxin, she had seen quite a lot outside too.

But when she saw the gravestone placed on the ground with her photo on it, she completely lost her composure.

The dim lighting inside the room made the inscriptions on the gravestone unclear. Su Wanxin didn’t move closer to check if it had her name on it.

Feeling a heavy tightness in her chest, her breathing became difficult. Su Wanxin’s gaze slowly moved from the photo on the gravestone to Cheng Yao’s face.

She looked coldly at the other party, who smiled back at her. For a moment, neither said a word.

Su Wanxin leaned against the door; she could leave just by turning around and opening it.

But at the moment, her legs felt as if they were filled with lead, immovable.

A horror-themed party with underworld scenes and gravestones appeared, she could understand. But having her photo on a gravestone was beyond her comprehension and acceptance.

Why was her own photo here?

Su Wanxin’s mind was a bit messy and painful.

"Fu Shiyi never mentioned me to you?" Cheng Yao asked with a smile full of meaning.

"Are you worthy of being mentioned?"

"Heh." Cheng Yao scoffed coldly, nonchalantly sitting on the floor, then seemingly casually glanced at the gravestone, feigning surprise: "Oh? Why is your photo here?"

The acting was too exaggerated, Su Wanxin was too lazy to expose her, watching her perform a solo act.

"My name is Cheng Yao, my birthday is May 21."
