Shattered by Fate, Restored by Truth

Chapter 1150: Another Identity

Chapter 1150: Another Identity

Fu Shihan had a faintly mocking expression as he gazed into Mu Xinghan’s dark eyes and spoke even more clearly.

"After all, the one who made me forget everything back then, was you."

"Since you’ve forgotten, how can you be so sure it was me who did it?"

"If it wasn’t you, why would you feel guilty and be willing to help me restore my memory?" Fu Shihan, though still puzzled as to why Mu Xinghan would suddenly have a change of heart, acknowledged that it was indeed a fact that he was finally willing to do something humane.

"Is it necessary to explain why I’m helping you?" Mu Xinghan’s expression darkened even further; if it weren’t for Fu Shihan’s repeated veiled threats, he wouldn’t have taken this trip.

"Yes, it is necessary." A cold glint flashed in Fu Shihan’s eyes. "I need to clarify what exactly your relationship with Fu Ziqian and his people is."

Back then, he merely mentioned to Mu Xinghan, "Do you need me to introduce you to Alex by your true identity?" and it was enough to frighten him into agreeing to his terms, which genuinely surprised Fu Shihan.

He was surprised that this person could not hold his ground, and even more surprised that his own suspicions were almost certainly correct.

When Mu Xinghan is mentioned, anyone who knows him would probably first think of the word "unreliable," including his few living relatives.

His whereabouts have long been uncertain, with the title of Taoist hanging over him. It’s said he’s quite talented, but in the eyes of ordinary people, he’s ultimately just a "charlatan scammer."

But who would have thought that this unreliable fraudster would have such an identity.

Fu Shihan: "How long will it take to restore the memory?"

"At least three days."

"So, that means I’ll have to stay here with you, two men all by ourselves, for three days." Fu Shihan clicked his tongue, quite disdainfully. "Time is precious, Master Mu, let’s get started."

"Aren’t you afraid I’ll do something again to make you forget this time too?"

"If you’re really that stubborn, then go ahead and try." Fu Shihan seemed indifferent. "Right now, only Jiang Cheng and I know you’re here. Though law-abiding citizens shouldn’t commit crimes, if no one knows about it, it doesn’t count for much."

Few people can talk about deadly secrets so easily and lightly; even fewer, like Fu Shihan, flaunt their "law-abiding" nature so shamelessly as a badge of honor.

"Besides, your identity itself is a secret. Even if you did die here, as long as I come up with an excuse to pin it on Fu Ziqian’s group, no one would suspect anything."

"Then tell me, what is my identity?" Mu Xinghan’s eyes were deep. "And what evidence is there to prove that what you’re thinking is true?"

"If it were false, you wouldn’t be asking." Fu Shihan’s expression gradually turned serious and solemn. "Nor would you have come to this meeting."

He paused for a moment, then spoke again. "Officer Mu."

A simple three words, yet they made the person’s body stiffen.

Fu Shihan looked at Mu Xinghan’s unperturbed expression, smiled, and added, "Don’t worry, I haven’t told anyone about this."

Mu Xinghan’s entanglement with Alex and others must have a reason, and as for what that reason was, Fu Shihan had expended quite a bit of effort to find out.

And after uncovering the truth, Fu Shihan regretted it considerably. Because compared to the current outcome, he would have much preferred if Mu Xinghan had been mixed up with those people for reasons like money.

Only then could he strike back without scruples, with no mercy.
