Chapter 1725: Quarrel
Chapter 1725: Quarrel
The speaker is a young man who seems to be about twenty-three or twenty-four, looking very much like someone from Xia Country, but he was speaking in the Central Continent dialect.
Although he was speaking in the Central Continent dialect, most people present could understand it.
As soon as the young man spoke, several others who understood the conversation between Teacher Mo and Professor Lin chuckled, their eyes showing undisguised mockery.
Upon hearing the young man’s voice, Teacher Mo and Professor Lin stopped arguing.
However, they merely glanced sideways at the young man and did not pay him any heed.
It wasn’t that they didn’t understand the young man, but rather they didn’t bother to take his words to heart, hence dismissing any argument with him.
The young man, seeing them look his way, raised his chin and asked them, "What are you looking at?"
Teacher Mo and Professor Lin still did not respond to him and quickly withdrew their gaze.
Teacher Mo took out his phone, checked the time, and said, "It’s about time, let’s gather the students and get ready to go inside."
Professor Lin nodded and turned to gather the students from Imperial Capital University.
Teacher Mo, meanwhile, fished out his phone and started making a call.
Gu Xiyue still hadn’t arrived.
Nobody paid attention to the young man, and he wasn’t pleased, muttering under his breath, "Cowards."
A girl standing next to the young man chuckled after hearing his words and said, "Young Master Chen, forget it. They probably can’t even understand Central Continent dialect."
Her tone was full of superiority.
Just as the girl finished speaking, a voice rang out beside them, "A mad dog likes to bark at anyone, and of course people won’t bother with a mad dog."
It was Lu Xingzhe speaking in the Xia language, seemingly addressing Qiao Qingshu and Gu Zhiqi, but in fact, it was loud enough for Young Master Chen and the girl to hear.
Upon hearing Lu Xingzhe’s words, the girl and Young Master Chen both glanced sideways, frowning at Lu Xingzhe.
"Are you insulting me?" Young Master Chen looked at Lu Xingzhe with hostility, switching to speaking in the Xia language.
It sounded a bit awkward.
Lu Xingzhe looked back at Young Master Chen and retorted, "Are you a mad dog?"
Young Master Chen’s face turned unsightly at the words, "You..."
"If you admit to being a mad dog, then this doesn’t count as an insult, it’s merely stating a fact." Lu Xingzhe said, shrugging lightly.
"You..."
Young Master Chen didn’t finish his sentence, because someone was calling him from the other side.
Young Master Chen glanced over, then glared at Lu Xingzhe, "Just wait."
After saying that, he turned around and left.
Just as Young Master Chen was leaving, Teacher Mo approached with Gu Xiyue, looking at Lu Xingzhe and asking, "Did he cause trouble for you?"
Lu Xingzhe shook his head, "No."
Teacher Mo seemed a bit incredulous, after all, the young man looked quite displeased when he left.
Thus, Teacher Mo cautioned Lu Xingzhe and the other two, "There are bigwigs everywhere in Central Continent City; after all, it’s not our own country. If you can avoid confrontation, then do so."
Having been Lu Xingzhe’s class teacher for three years, Teacher Mo understood him quite well; if he got displeased, he wouldn’t care who it was—he’d roll up his sleeves and start a fight.
As for Gu Zhiqi, needless to say, she didn’t look like the kind to suffer losses either; after all, last semester she ended up in the office twice because of fights.
Among the three, Qiao Qingshu was the most obedient, quiet, and never fought.
Although Teacher Mo knew none of the three were prone to causing trouble, Central Continent City had influential people everywhere, and some of them were not ones they could afford to offend, so avoidance was best.
Upon hearing this, Gu Zhiqi and the other two all agreed.
