Chapter 43

King was sitting opposite to Peter, discussing something while smoking his cigarette when one of his guards entered.

“ King, there is a girl, she is trying to meet you, I have told her to leave, but she isn't going, not only that, she has been outside since morning.. and... ”

He paused for few seconds and then added

“ She is spreading rumors that she is your girlfriend, her name is, ah what did she tell, yes, Anna D'cruz ”

All the guards present inside looked up at him with stunned eyes and then glanced at King, including Peter, while King's eyes twitched, he didn't show any expression at his face, but the guards who had seen his transformation from cold to a gentle, and warm personality and then again cold and more cruel personality, knew how he would be feeling right now.

“ I don't have any girl friend, drive her away ” King replied calmly as if he didn't care about the name the guard mentioned.

“ That's what we said, but, that girl is really stubborn, and not going away from the doorstep ” said him.

“ Then let her live on the footpath, Don't come here for such a trivial matter, understand ” this time his voice raised by few decibels that the guard gulped, and nodded immediately.

“ Sorry sir, we will not disturb you again ” after apologizing, he left.

After listening her name, his heart wasn't at rest now, it ruined his peaceful mind. He then glanced at Peter, and said

“ Tell the guards to go and rest, I'm going to my room ” he said.

Peter looked at his wrist watch, it was only 9 pm, it wasn't his usual schedule of bed time, but then he understood and nodded.

After coming to his room, Ethan walked up to his window sill. Anna was sitting on her suitcase, sometimes blinking her eyes, and sometimes covering her body with a shawl, sometimes clapping her hands to drive mosquitoes away. Her hair were messed now, and her eyes were swallowed. Guards were trying to make her go, but she was still that old stubborn girl, wasn't giving them any chance to manipulate her.

He sighed and mumbled ‘ You will never change, still that stubborn girl, but... I'm afraid that you are still same ’

He came to his bed, and sleep on half of the bed, as after her departure, he was used to sleep on only half side, imagining her to be sleeping on the other half side of the bed. But today, he couldn't sleep there too. He then left his bed, grabbed his chair and sat beside the window. He slightly opened the window, and then leaned over the wall, watching her whole night.

“ Mam, you are wasting your time here, please go back otherwise King would scold us, he is very dangerous, he kills people on their little mistake, have mercy on us and leave. He has warned us last night and if by mistake he see you here, he will kill us ”

One of the guard said to Anna who was sitting whole night on the suitcase. Her face had now acquired the dark circles below her eyes. When she heard them mentioning Ethan, she looked up at them, and asked excitedly, “ Did you tell him about me? What did he say? ”

“ Yes, and he scolded us for that, and said to drive you away, and also ordered us to kill you if you not listen ” one of them said angrily as only because of her continuously nagging that she was King's girlfriend, he dared to tell King about her, but in return he had to bear King's anger. Only if she not looking too pitiful, he would have scold this girl too much.

“Oh ” only a single word came out of her mouth and she started talking to him in her mind,“ You hate me that much that you don't even want to see me now, you are hating me and want to kill me because I, I tried to kill you, Yes, you are right Ethan, I deserve that, I don't deserve your love, but, but I can't forget you now, You can call me selfish or stubborn, but I will not let you go away from me, never ”

She was busy in her thoughts, and only now she realized that his name ‘ Ethan’ sounds more heart warming and loving than his name ‘ King ’. she started smiling while thinking about him.

“ Oh hello Mam, did you listen what we said, go away from here otherwise we will kill you ” a frustrated guard said.

“ Go and tell your King to kill me by his own hand, I would love to be killed by him but can't see him separated from me, understand ” she yelled while the guard sighed.

“ Ethan.. Ethan come out and kill me, are you listening me, I would love to be killed by you but can't be separated from you.. are you er... ”

One of them put his hands upon her lips.

“ Ssh.. what are you doing? Do you want us to be killed by him.. I'm giving you last warning otherwise we will surely kill you ” he said with serious tone, trying to scare her, but she brushed away his hands and said, ” I'm giving you last warning, don't tell me to leave otherwise, I will Continue screaming like this, understand? ”

He sighed while the other guard said, “ Let her sitting here, let's see how long can she take it, and stay outside waiting for King, King will meet her only in her dreams, huh, let's go back to our position ”

Both of them laughed sarcastically, and get back to guard the main door.
