Chapter 504: Chapter 504: Stay, Don’t Leave

No matter the reason Adrian Walyon came back, for the Old Master, the contest between grandfather and grandson was already won by him.

After Adrian returned, he merely glanced at him indifferently before heading upstairs to Diana Wood’s room.

Diana Wood had indeed been sick earlier, aggravated by Adrian, but after calming down, there wasn’t much of a problem.

In the past few days, her mental state was quite alright.

However, as soon as she heard Adrian’s footsteps upstairs, she quickly pulled back the covers and lay on the bed, holding her forehead and sighing to feign illness, "Oh, I haven’t even reached old age, and all sorts of illnesses are starting to come."

While speaking, she kept signaling to the family doctor beside her.

The family doctor understood her intention and earnestly took out the equipment to begin checking her.

"Madam, your condition requires proper rest. Recently, your emotions must not fluctuate too much for quite some time."

Adrian pushed open the door and walked in, his gaze sweeping over to Diana Wood lying on the bed, only looking at her indifferently, with no expression on his face.

"Adrian!" Diana Wood felt a sudden sourness in her heart when she saw him.

Adrian was not only the apple of the Old Master’s eye, but hers as well!

The son she loved most from childhood to adulthood; why did they have to be at odds like enemies?

"Hmm." Adrian responded to her indifferently.

Just that one word was enough to satisfy Diana Wood.

"Now that you’re back, don’t leave again. Stay home, and I’ll have the family prepare what you like to eat."

Diana Wood pressed the call bell, wanting to notify the household steward, but Adrian stopped her.

"No need, Madam Walyon, the less you worry daily, the less illness you’ll have. If there’s nothing serious, I’ll be going." Turning his head, intending to leave, Diana Wood panicked, trying hurriedly to pull him back from the bed, but unexpectedly twisted her foot and fell heavily onto the carpet.

Her fall was purely accidental.

However, it unexpectedly created the impression that she was sickly and couldn’t stand steadily.

Adrian’s brow furrowed, and the leg already leaving paused.

"Adrian!" Diana Wood called out to him, deciding to act thoroughly, "My chest has started hurting again, it’s killing me!"

No matter what, Adrian had finally returned, Diana Wood would not let him go easily.

Adrian stood stiffly with his back facing her, not looking at her, but his feet didn’t continue to move.

With the doctor’s support, Diana Wood stood up and walked over to him, grabbing his hand, taking the opportunity to persuade him, "You can’t leave! I’m your mom, what can’t be properly discussed? Does a family have to be so cold? Your grandfather loves you most, talk to him thoroughly now that you’re back, what issues can’t be resolved?"

Adrian ignored her, only turning his head slightly, his gaze faintly falling on the doctor, "Is Madam’s illness still okay?"

He was seeking confirmation from the doctor about Diana Wood’s condition.

Normally, the doctor wouldn’t dare deceive him, but considering the currently cold family relations, he told a well-intentioned lie, "Madam has cardiomyopathy and can’t be stimulated, if it attacks accidentally, if severe, the consequences are unimaginable."

Adrian seemed to pause for a moment.

Diana Wood took the opportunity to call the steward and gave orders, "Today’s dinner should suit the young master’s preferences, prepare more dishes, hurry!"

...

Adrian left and didn’t return for a long time.

Summer Sutton stood in the room, occasionally glancing at her phone.
