Chapter 488: Chapter 488: Walyon Family’s Family Gathering Day

Summer Sutton has been very busy these days, leaving early every day to go to the film crew with Ariella Sawyer.

After a busy day at the set, today they finished work much earlier than usual; Ariella’s scenes ended at 6 PM.

After leaving the set, Ariella suggested going out for dinner.

They drove around the city for a while, finally, Ariella boldly chose a Chinese restaurant where a meal costs at least a few thousand.

At this hour, it’s the peak dinner time.

The restaurant was particularly lively, with almost every table filled.

They walked around the restaurant and were eventually seated by a waiter in the corner of the room.

The only available table at the moment in the restaurant.

"Order whatever you like, it’s on me!" Ariella said generously after sitting down.

Summer Sutton took the menu, glanced over it, and randomly selected a few dishes.

After a while, as the food was just being served, before they could dig in, a crisp voice suddenly chirped, "Little sis-in-law, you’re here too!"

The familiar voice made Summer Sutton pause for a moment.

She turned her face and saw a small figure standing beside her table; she was somewhat surprised.

Sophie Walyon hadn’t seen her for more than a year, and bumping into her at the restaurant today made her especially excited.

She squeezed Summer Sutton onto the sofa seat without a hint of shyness, climbed up, and sat close to her.

"Sis-in-law, finally I get to see you! Where have you been for such a long time?" Sophie reminisced as she sat next to her.

When Summer left a year ago, everyone in the Walyon Family except Adrian seemed eager for her to leave quickly.

Now, having been away for so long, she hadn’t expected this child to still be so affectionate towards her.

Sophie held her hand tightly, continuously saying, "You don’t know how worried I was about you during this time, I wanted to visit you but I was too young, and the family wouldn’t allow it. I missed you so much after more than a year!"

A nine-year-old child wouldn’t be deceitful; all his thoughts were pure and genuine.

When he said he missed her, he truly meant it.

It was evident that Sophie truly liked her.

He could be considered the second person next to Adrian who genuinely cared for Summer Sutton.

Summer Sutton gazed at his little face for a moment, feeling touched inside.

Gently embracing him, Summer comforted, "Sophie, I’m doing well! I missed you too."

"Really? That’s a relief." Sophie beamed at her with a big smile.

Then he slid down from the sofa seat, holding Summer Sutton’s hand, eager to take her away, "Today is the family’s gathering day, a weekly get-together, you know. Uncle arranged it at this restaurant today, the whole family is next door. Come, I’ll take you there! You’re Adrian’s wife, a member of the Walyon Family!"

He seemed unaware of the circumstances under which Summer had left the Walyon Family, pulling her towards where the Walyons were seated.

Summer Sutton stopped in her tracks, refusing to go along with him.

As they were at a stalemate, Diana Wood, probably noticing Sophie’s absence, came searching.

Spotting Summer Sutton over here, she paused for a moment.

Gazing at the pair, she walked over expressionlessly and pulled Sophie’s hand free from Summer’s grasp.

"Sophie, who let you wander off?" she scolded, intending to lead Sophie away just as Summer Sutton’s phone suddenly rang.

The caller ID displayed the name, Adrian Walyon.
