"Speak!" Adrian Walyon’s face darkened.
Summer Sutton endured the pain silently, still not making a sound.
Her demeanor made Adrian somewhat irritated.
"Summer Sutton, do you believe I won’t throw you out?" He adjusted his sleeves, suddenly lifted her up, and carried her towards the door.
This was Summer Sutton’s home.
He was an uninvited guest, to begin with.
Even though Summer didn’t kick him out, he wanted to throw her out?
At this moment, Summer’s stomach was hurting terribly, and she was even more upset with him.
Adrian had already been rough with her countless times today alone.
If he really did something so unreasonable, Summer believed he could do it.
She was already being carried to the door by Adrian, afraid he would truly throw her out. Summer hugged his waist tightly, "Adrian, it hurts! It hurts a lot..."
Even her voice sounded weak, seemingly with a hint of trembling.
The pain caused it.
Adrian looked down at the helpless woman in his arms, and his gaze unknowingly softened.
"Just kidding!" The three soft words carried a sense of helplessness towards her.
He treasured her in his heart, afraid of losing her, how could he bear to throw her away?
Summer ignored him, burying her face in his embrace, her body shaking continuously from the pain.
Adrian closed the door with a free hand and carried her to the bed.
"Wait for me a bit, I’ll be back soon!" Placing her on the bed, covering her with a blanket, he tossed her that line before striding out of the apartment.
It was already midnight, the lights in the neighborhood had long been turned off, and the streets were cold and deserted, with almost no one around.
Adrian was gone for about twenty minutes, and when he returned, he had a box of medicine in his hand.
Stomach medicine.
In the dead of night, he went out to buy medicine for her.
He took out a few pills and fed them to her, then sat by the bed with her for a while.
"Feeling any better?" He reached out to touch her again, relieved not to find any cold sweat.
Summer nodded, wrapped in the blanket.
"Hungry?" Adrian asked her again.
Summer really didn’t want to admit it, but she still nodded.
Adrian’s face tensed slightly, seemingly speechless towards her.
"Just wait." Standing up, he headed towards the kitchen.
The wontons his assistant had packed and sent over had been sitting for so long they couldn’t be eaten.
After entering, Adrian looked inside her fridge for a bit.
Seeing the empty refrigerator, his handsome face darkened once more.
This woman lived even rougher than he did.
At least his fridge was never without food.
Adrian even doubted whether she regularly had three meals a day.
Summer indeed rarely cooked for herself, not out of laziness, but because balancing work and study over the past year left her too busy.
Every day was a blur, hardly any time to properly cook at home.
In her kitchen, Adrian rummaged through every corner, finally finding a packet of noodles and an egg.
He didn’t know how to cook and had barely ever been into a kitchen.
After making a mess in the kitchen for a while, he brought out a bowl of egg noodles.
The noodles were cooked a bit too long, almost as soft as what a baby would eat.
No salt seemed to be added, and it tasted like plain water.
The egg was also fried messily.
Summer looked at the noodles he brought out, said nothing, and quietly began to eat with her head down.
Adrian’s cooking skills really left a lot to be desired.
But tonight, Summer felt this bowl of noodles was the best she’d ever eaten...
