Chapter 456: Chapter 456: Your person just left

Summer Sutton had never been good at drinking, and she sat quietly in the corner, silently watching the lively crowd at the table.

Ariella Sawyer wasn’t much of a drinker either. She was late today, and those three glasses she had were already making her dizzy.

Investors were the lifeline for actors; without pleasing them, surviving in this circle would be impossible.

Today, none of the people at the table were ones Ariella could afford to offend.

After drinking, she sat down, and when someone toasted her, she couldn’t refuse. She drank all the glasses offered to her.

Summer Sutton watched from the side, feeling worried for her.

Knowing Ariella as she did, after two or three more drinks, Ariella probably wouldn’t be able to hold on.

Their manager, aware of this, stood up and called over to Summer Sutton, "Summer, come sit here!"

She didn’t spell it out, but Summer understood the implication—she was being asked to help handle the situation.

Summer Sutton couldn’t drink much either, but she couldn’t bear to see Ariella end up drunk, so she struggled internally but eventually went over.

"We’re all girls here, not great drinkers; please understand." The manager, still considerate, greeted the others at the table to prevent both of them from getting drunk.

"It’s fine, it’s fine, just enjoy yourselves." The investors they met today were reasonable, not arrogant or unreasonable.

Summer Sutton sat down with relief.

After seating herself, she only sipped her drink when everyone else toasted.

When the social event was halfway through, one of the investors looked outside and said, "Wasn’t Young Master Walyon supposed to come today? Why isn’t he here yet?"

"Young Master Walyon? Which Young Master Walyon?" Summer Sutton suddenly lifted her face, pausing her meal.

"Adrian Walyon." Ariella Sawyer, with her hazy drunken eyes, vaguely reminded her.

Summer Sutton froze, standing up in shock.

"Why didn’t you tell me sooner?" She pinched Ariella, feeling a bit annoyed with her.

"What difference does it make? We’re in the same city; running into each other is normal, isn’t it?" Ariella murmured a drunken hiccup, suddenly feeling a bit sleepy.

"You don’t understand!" Summer Sutton didn’t bother to explain further, grabbing her bag and turning on her heel to leave.

She ran quickly, fearing she’d bump into Adrian Walyon at the door if she slowed down.

The whole table was left dumbfounded.

What was going on?

Summer Sutton didn’t dare linger at the scene, hailing a taxi as soon as she exited the restaurant.

She was the one who had decided to leave initially, and she wasn’t ready to see Adrian Walyon yet.

The taxi slowly pulled out from the restaurant entrance, and as it left, a black SUV was driving directly towards the restaurant entrance.

As the two vehicles passed by each other, the man in the other car turned his head to glance in Summer Sutton’s direction.

Summer had her hand covering her face the entire way out, fearing she’d run into Adrian Walyon on the road.

Her face was so petite that her hand could cover it entirely, blocking it from view.

Nonetheless, the person in the car opposite recognized her by instinct.

He watched the direction where her car disappeared for a long moment, a mocking smirk curling his lips.

Summer Sutton’s taxi slowly merged into the night, already vanished from the restaurant.

Adrian Walyon continued to drive towards the restaurant’s parking lot, parked his car, and walked inside.

When he arrived at the table, Ariella Sawyer was heavily intoxicated.

Seeing him, she chuckled, "Your lady just left."
