Chapter 996: I’m Waiting for You to Continue

This side of him left Summer Sutton speechless.

Standing obediently as he arranged things, Summer said nothing.

It seemed that Watt Bennet didn’t even want other men to see her blushing face, more vibrant than any flower, as he picked up Summer’s sun hat and placed it on her small head.

Even though it was late at night and almost dark, he didn’t find it strange to put such a big hat on her.

Summer felt speechless towards him, but she didn’t resist.

After setting up his wheelchair, Summer quietly pushed him out of the farm.

As they walked out, Alexander Winslow was waiting outside.

Glancing at Watt and then at Summer, who was almost wrapped up from head to toe beside him, Alexander only needed a moment to realize what had recently transpired between them.

Clearing his throat, Alexander’s expression was slightly awkward.

Watt’s face was somewhat shadowed, and from the farm to the car, the chill on his face hardly faded.

Alexander tried to act oblivious, calmly running to the driver’s seat and starting the car.

By this time, it was already night.

The suburban night was unusually quiet.

They encountered no pedestrians as the car drove down the road.

Summer and Watt sat in the back seat.

With her peripheral vision drifting toward him, Summer quietly observed him.

Seeing his face almost as cold as an iceberg, and recalling what happened at the farm, her lips curled slightly into a smile.

In truth, Summer felt awkward; the blush on her face hadn’t yet faded.

Yet, inside, she felt a sweet ripple, little by little spreading out entirely in sweetness.

She didn’t know if Watt’s behavior was due to the atmosphere, a momentary impulse, or if he finally figured things out. But in any case, it was another step forward in their relationship.

Any progress was a reason for happiness for Summer.

At least it gave her the courage to persevere in this marriage. She could see how to continue the path ahead.

...

When they returned from the farm to the city, it was already past eight.

Thinking that none of them had eaten, Alexander directly drove to a restaurant, where the three of them had dinner.

During dinner, Watt’s expression remained sour, as if the irritation of being interrupted hadn’t dissipated.

Through the corner of her eye, Summer saw his reaction and her lips twitched lightly.

When they returned to the villa after dinner, it was half past nine.

Upon entering the house, Watt went to the bathroom for a shower.

Summer stayed in the living room, playing with Unity for a while, occasionally glancing toward the bathroom, listening to the sound of running water.

Watt spent quite a while inside, and forty minutes had passed by the time he emerged.

Once he was out, Summer quickly went in to take a shower herself.

She initially planned for a quick wash, but recalling what was left unresolved at the farm, her pace slowed down.

Her gaze swept around the bathroom, noticing a bottle of essential oil nearby. Summer poured some into the water, gently twirling her fingers through the droplets, ensuring the oil completely blended in.

She soaked in the bathtub for a long time, and after finishing her bath, she even deliberately smoothed her damp hair and robe before the mirror.

When she stepped out, her semi-wet long hair cascaded down her slender neck, disappearing at her chest, the black tresses accentuating her fair skin in an irresistibly alluring scene.
