Chapter 985: Sleeping Through Eternity

Chapter 985: Sleeping Through Eternity

He picked her up and settled her in his arms as Watt Bennet gently carried her towards the room.

When they reached the bed, he placed her down on it and sat at the head, quietly watching the sleeping Summer Sutton for a while.

Summer’s cheeks were flushed, seemingly quite intoxicated, her entire skin tinged with an unusual redness.

Watt watched her like this for a long time, his large hand gently caressing her face, cradling her small cheeks in his palm, stroking them over and over, reluctant to move his hand for a long time.

Tonight’s Summer Sutton was actually quite endearingly stubborn to him.

She clearly knew his identity, so why was she still fixated on a mask?

Giving him the last shackle, leaving him no room for retreat in their relationship?

Watt’s hand lingered on Summer Sutton’s cheek for a while, then he leaned down and gently kissed her lips.

Summer’s body was very hot, so hot that she felt like a ball of fire, just touching her lips seemed like they could burn him.

Such was her state that it made Watt frown.

What kind of medicine did Marshall Quinn buy for her?

He couldn’t possibly be angry with Summer Sutton, but if he couldn’t lose his temper with her, could he not with Marshall?

Even if Summer acted recklessly, what was Marshall, his trusted aide, doing getting involved in her antics?

Watt couldn’t figure it out, so he called Marshall, "Starting from tomorrow, you will run fifty laps around the square downstairs while carrying a load."

Morningview Group is a big company, and the square downstairs has a circumference of at least a thousand meters.

Fifty laps equal about fifty thousand meters.

Running fifty thousand meters while carrying a load?

Marshall imagined the scene and wished he could just knock himself out.

"Master, I was wrong! It was a mistake to plot with Miss Sutton against you." He sincerely apologized to Watt, and bravely explained for Summer, "But, Miss Sutton actually meant no harm. She’s so in love with you that she couldn’t possibly do anything to hurt you. Her motives were actually very simple, you know."

Watt held the phone without responding.

Marshall kept talking for a while before suddenly realizing a problem, "Master, you’re not drunk?"

"What do you think?" Watt asked darkly in return.

Marshall was silenced for a moment, then nervously probed, "Then, is Miss Sutton alright?"

"Report to me after you’ve finished the run tomorrow!" Watt didn’t answer his question, delivering a curt response before abruptly hanging up.

Marshall listened to the beeping sound of the phone, dazed for a while, cursing inwardly.

Fifty laps? Might as well just take his life!

...

Summer Sutton slept deeply, partly due to the alcohol, partly due to the medication.

She slept from around eleven the previous night until noon the next day, showing no signs of waking.

The effects of the sedatives should have worn off, but her skin was still red, likely due to the alcohol.

Watt sat by the bed, changing one basin of water after another, constantly wiping her body to cool her down.

By twelve o’clock, Summer was still asleep.

Sleeping soundly, unaware of the world, or what day it was.

By one o’clock, Watt estimated she would wake up soon and even had someone prepare lunch, thinking she would have something to eat as soon as she woke up.

Unexpectedly, when he brought lunch to the room, Summer Sutton was still deeply asleep on the bed.
