Chapter 983: Celebrating Such a Beautiful Night
Chapter 983: Celebrating Such a Beautiful Night
With composure, she called out to Watt Bennet again, "I brought lots of your favorite food. Working late has left me starving. Why don’t you join me?"
Watt hesitated only briefly before slowly wheeling himself over.
Summer Sutton helped him with the chair, pressing him down to sit, and handed him the tampered wine, curling her lips into a smile, "Let’s have a drink together! To such a beautiful night!"
Watt turned his head to look out the window.
No stars tonight, no moon, just a sky full of dark clouds. What’s so beautiful?
Except for her, nothing else seemed beautiful in his eyes.
Watt found Summer Sutton a bit peculiar tonight, gently swirling the wine glass in his hand, he stared at her for quite a while.
Summer Sutton was focused on eating, she did seem genuinely hungry, taking several bites in succession.
While eating, her gaze subtly observed him without giving anything away.
Summer was waiting for him to drink, contemplating many plans in her mind.
If Watt got drunk with just one drink, she could do whatever she wanted with him, which would be fine.
But, what if one drink didn’t knock him out, just got him eight or nine-tenths drunk? What consequences would she face then?
Or, what if he only took one sip and noticed something was wrong with the drink, what would she do?
As Summer contemplated, she suddenly felt a bit uneasy.
Her gaze was somewhat flustered, though very subtle, hard to notice if not paying attention.
But, what kind of eyes does Watt have?
How many people messing with him have succeeded?
The wine glass at Watt’s fingertips swirled a little slower.
"Don’t feel like drinking?" Summer saw that he was only holding it without the intention to drink, slightly furrowing her elegant brows.
"It’s fine," Watt responded to her blandly, glanced at the table, and reminded her lightly, "You only brought one pair of chopsticks."
Summer looked at the table, patting her head with a soft clap.
Indeed!
"I’ll get you a pair immediately!" Standing up, she turned and went to the kitchen.
After she left, Watt stared at her wine glass for a while, seemingly deep in thought...
Summer was in the kitchen for just about a minute, and after grabbing the chopsticks, she promptly returned.
Handing them to him, she lightly curled her red lips, waiting for him to drink the wine.
This time, Watt drank unabashedly, tasting a bit of the takeout she brought back, and downed his wine in one gulp.
Summer Sutton stared at the empty wine glass for a while, inwardly so delighted she almost snapped her fingers.
Composing herself, controlling her expression, she continued to help Watt with the dishes, "Try this braised dish, I think it tastes pretty good."
"This one’s also good, Marshall Quinn went through many streets to get it."
"And this one, and this one."
Whatever she picked, Watt quietly consumed it.
Summer Sutton watched him in silence, secretly counting down the time for him to pass out.
5, 4, 3, 2, 1...
Counting down again and again, Watt sat perfectly still, his face showing no signs of abnormality.
This surprised Summer Sutton slightly.
However, she didn’t pay too much attention to it.
Maybe the drug just hadn’t taken effect yet.
Burying her head, wanting to continue with her meal, Watt’s gaze slowly shifted towards her wine glass.
Staring at it for a moment, he slowly let out, "Weren’t you going to toast me?"
Summer snapped back to reality, as if just recalling it.
Without a hint of hesitation, she picked up her glass and drank it down in one gulp.
